FARR Plugins and Aliases / Re: FARR Plugin: TimeZone
« Last post by TucknDar on March 12, 2009, 09:14 AM »
Love it! Great piece of work, Perry Mowbray!

A minor thing I'd like to see, is that the Date Format fields corresponds to computer locale. I have this in the format field: 'E HH:mm' which says 'Thu 15:13' but preferable would be that it said 'tor 15:13' (locale is Norwegian).

Not a biggie, I know, but a little detail that would improve what seems otherwise pretty perfect to me ;)

I'm very happy with Registry Workshop. Does what I need, and a lot more. It's shareware, with "Free updates in the lifetime of the product."

That'll do for me 8)

hehe, do I get a 'Paying attention-badge' now?

Good luck, and maybe you'll need it...:

Linkman says they are leaving freeze.com for the free installation very shortly.
Thank god! What an incredibly annoying installation procedure that was (had to whitelist a couple of freeze.com domains in my router, because of ad-blocking). Very off-putting and gave me an immediate bad impression of Linkman...

General Software Discussion / Re: Collectorz.com... again!
« Last post by TucknDar on February 23, 2009, 09:26 AM »
Here's a screenshot (because I'm not sure that the posts will be around a week from now) of an exchange that took place yesterday on the Collectorz.com mp3 Collector forum that gives some insight into the mindset at Collectorz.com:
 (see attachment in previous post)
Just to note, I understand that forum mods are free to do as they please on their forums, but this kind of response to what to my mind appears to be a rather innouous, though admittedly negative, post does nothing to assure me that Collectorz.com is interested in their customers.
Another example of what I would call unprofessional treatment of unhappy customers. I think it's a good thing that the director of the company is active in the forum, but I'd expect some professionalism and not so much sarcasm. It's obvious that we as customers should follow some general guidelines as to how and what to post, but there is only one part that has an obligation to be professional even if the customer may complain.

Still happy with Movie Collector 5.6 and Book Collector 6 is growing on me, but the way the company is going means I still have to look at alternatives from time to time :/

Web Log Filter / Re: Web Log Filter

I just want to say, even though i don't think anyone else on the planet uses this, that after employing it to analyze data in a 10gb log file, that it is a great tool, and i'd like to thank myself for coding it.
You should donate something to the developer then ;)

The VX Revolution has the "free wheel", if I understand you correctly. The wheel also functions as a middle button.

I use a Logitech VX Revolution for my laptop, and think it's an awesome mouse! I wish the USB connector was small like the VX Nano, but apart from that I really love this mouse. The logitech software isn't too good, but UberOptions gives it lots of extra goodness :)

I like it. Thanks for the link, mouser.

@tomos: Yes. Haven't tried on Linux yet.

Looks very promising, indeed. Looked and worked beautifully out of the box. I'm certainly considering ditching TB for it.

Thanks for the link, 40hz!

Don't remember if I asked this before or if it's posted, but is there an easy way to "report" topics to be included in the newsletter? Just to make editing it easier for you... Not that actually writing a mail is too much work, but I'm a tad bit lazy to be honest :-[

Very nice, IMO! Support for some extensions would be very nice, but a really nice mail client (at least for the couple of minutes I test drove it). Import from Thunderbird worked like a charm.

edit: I should learn to use another word to replace 'nice'... :-\

Don't know if it does all you want, but EditPadPro has a block select feature, where you press Ctrl+Shift+B to set a "start point" for your selection, then go to the end of wherever you want to select, press Ctrl+Shift+E and voilĂ : selected! It's not exactly what you were looking for, I realize, but at least you don't need to do all the scrolling.
Actually, EditPadPro has something called "persistent selections" which means you can select something and don't lose selection when moving the text cursor.

Guess I still have a lot to learn about this text editor :-[

Well, I use this feature :-[ Takes a little getting used to, but can be very useful, and also speeds up finding and launching files if used correctly (less typing).

But the 4th result is "Ruler with angles, color capture pickpick_inst.exe" !
The 5th result is OK but the 6th is "I:\_Download\Image Stacker (enhance dark images) SW  (ROTTO) imgstack.zip"
mouser beat me to it, but with that option checked, FARR results are correct. Just see the letters in bold below:
"Ruler with angles, color capture pickpick_inst.exe"
"I:\_Download\Image Stacker (enhance dark images) SW  (ROTTO) imgstack.zip"

I'd like the option to ignore a thread so that it doesn't show up in my Unread Posts list. Ignoring entire boards is useful sometimes (although it can be hard to find) but if there's a single thread in the Living Room that I don't care to follow anymore, I'd really like the option to ignore it.
