You see, that's not a problem. None of mouser's programs make any entries in registry or modify something out of it's own directory. That means you can just put it in a usb-stick and take them anywhere. (afaik :) )

General Software Discussion / Re: Windows XP Myths
« Last post by jgpaiva on October 13, 2006, 07:13 PM »
I'm sorry to see so much people upset for these stupid reasons. Apparently, the discussion really isn't going anywhere productive. That's the problem with myths, they are so close to reality that sometimes it's hard to distinguish the truth from the lie. Although this has been an informative thread, i hate to see it has turned out so badly.

I think that the most important question on a review is not "which application is the best?" but "which application fits me the most?". Often, reviews give the highest ranking to the application that can fit more people better.
I personally usually first look at the winning app to see if it fits my needs. If it does, i usually don't look at others. If later i find that it doesn't fit me (or it didn't fit me in the beggining), i look at the features list. I love those big tables with each program and several features, and crosses on each of them. I think it's all about comparison, if one app has all the features i really need, that's the one i use.

An interesting fact: from that review, i started using pspad. I loved it. But then, i didn't like the way it indented code, so, i found myself a new editor, which although doesn't have some good stuff that pspad has (like its simplicity), features a way more powerful syntax highliting and indentation: VIM ;)

These also support the same cause: :hanged: :'(

Plase come back, Skrommel, i'm sure you don't want the two blue twins to die of hunger!

[update] not anymore! see below[/update]

f0dder: notice that he plays with the detail at the minimum setting.
Also, i've played this game on a very very similar compaq laptop, but with 1.5ghz, and a ati radeon 9200 and it played fairly well, with much more detail than the conditions wreckedcarzz mentioned.
There shouldn't be any problem, the problem must be elsewhere.

I can only support mouser's opinion, it's a good idea to test before, and XAMPP is a good alternative. I've been using it, and there's nothing easier to set up.

Ok... The "restore" + EdgeDrag should now be fixed!

Please download the attached .exe for the most recent version. Haven't put it in the site because it hasn't been fully tested, and i had to change a whole bunch of stuff. Given the advanced hour, it's most possible that there are some bugs.

I've played with it for a bit, and it looks a bit more responsive (hopefully ;) ), the restore seems to work properly (when using the edge method, it restores to the point where the person grabed the window before moving it to the edge), and, most of all, the code got some important structure, which hopefully will make further updates easier. Let's hope so ;)

Now... I expect feedback :D

(sorry, no .zip file because i'm sleepy and it'd take forever to upload)

[edit]Wrong file, please download from the following post: https://www.donation...24.msg40270#msg40270 [/Edit]

Thanks tomos, i also didn't know if it had, just mentioned since it looks like one of the best note-taking programs out there. But, if that's what sri is interested, i'm sure he can find the right solution at the note-taking thread, or at the Notetaking Roundup by SuperboyAC.

I haven't followed the note-taking software thread very closely, but from what i understand, you're looking for some sort of program that will store your notes with a tag-based organizational system. Maybe surfulater would be a solution.

lanux: it is, but as opera's search is application-wide, when you add a new search, you can add a "smart keyword" for it.
3237
now that there is a search plugin for firefox. your opera custom search would look cool beside it. 8)
so, how about uploading it to DC?
Sorry, but i have no idea on how to do it, i just opened the search page, right-clicked the search field and selected "create search" :D

Opera 9.02 and a bunch of previous versions. Never seen any of the bugs mentioned :)

I could make a script that would run 24/7 and launch the screensaver after some inactive time from the user. In your current config, would it be possible for the user to terminate it's process?

Post New Requests Here / Re: IDEA: Special Folders in the Desktop NameSpace
« Last post by jgpaiva on October 08, 2006, 03:31 PM »
A good solution for this is using softlinks for folders. You can have the folders wherever you want, then softlink them to the desktop, and use them as if they were there.
For more info, see this thread.

Living Room / Re: Deleting Folders that don't want to be deleted
« Last post by jgpaiva on October 08, 2006, 03:15 PM »
A better option may be this super, super handy utility: Unlocker. Lots of features, including a "delete on reboot", and it's free. :)

- Oshyan
Definitelly, i also use that.
3247
Oh, i see what you mean. Then, most probably you shoud look for some download manager, like DAP or Flashget, which already have that kind of option ;)
3248
I can't quite understand this request, could you explain it a little better?

Announce Your Software/Service/Product / Re: DotNetNuke Keep Alive Utility
« Last post by jgpaiva on October 08, 2006, 08:19 AM »
now i just have to learn what dot net nuke is, and why i need it out of garbage collector, and then why i need to keep it alive..
LoL... I had the exact same thought.. ;)

I've been quite for this idea. Browsing DonationCoder is now part of my tasks, simply because i have the need to do it.
Another advantage of seing it from this angle is that you can structure your time better and you don't feel like you are wasting time when surfing. This raises your self-esteem since you don't feel you spend most of your time not doing anything.
The side effects are that this self-esteem boost will help you to get more work done.
At least, that's how it has been working for me ;)
