NSFW comparison: K-cup vs. 'real' coffee:

Thanks for that! The image at the bottom of the page sent me on a shopping spree.  :-[

Chrissmas is coming, presents for the coffee addict lovers in your life :D

This doesnt quite fit in here as it's more about design, but it is related - and interesting, so I'll chance it:

It's a new app in development by Adobe for the iPad (I presume they will extend this to Windows anyway).
Idea is an app where you can quickly mock up your ideas, and export them as Ai or PSD etc.

Re Adobe's plans for touch/mobile computing, this article is well worth a read:
http://www.forbes.co...e-about-cloud-first/
(there's a lot of talk about Surface Pro 3 there too)
 -
they have a few free (I think) apps for iPad now that are related to their main suite - I dont know how good they are

I wonder were they actually made with tobacco though -
there is a herb (Coltsfoot I think) that is supposed to improve asthma when smoked.

I much prefered 'The Guard'

One of my favorites.  I used to watch it with the English subs on to catch all the dialog.  The type of flick I could watch every 3 or 4 months or so.

you'll be able to understand the locals now when you visit :)

My YouTube/G+ account uses my YT name, but is connected with my 'real-name' gmail address.
Here's what I now see when in G+ which is under my Youtube name (clicking the icon top-right of page; Win7 x64; Firefox)

Screenshot - 2014-10-30 , 13_18_27_ver001.png

Notice that the gmail account + real name is labeled 'default'.
I think this is simply a bug (it works different in Win8) but I'll chance asking:
Anyone know if there's any way of changing this, and making my YT/G+ name/account the default ?

it's slightly different on a YT page

Screenshot - 2014-10-30 , 13_35_00.png

   1) my email (no name)
   2) my YT name
   3) just my email again

If I click on the 'change' after my YT name I just get brought to my G+ page

'Calvary' (2014) - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2234003/

V1_SX214_AL_.jpg

a bit of a bleak film, beautiful scenery (worth seeing in the cinema), interesting ideas, not supenseful - but lots of tension.
For me, the film ultimately didnt work - it trys to redeem it's bleakness, and 'headiness', with an emotional connection that didnt convince, so I wasn't left with much at the end...

I much prefered 'The Guard' (2011) myself (same director/writer, also with Brendan Gleeson in lead role) - http://www.imdb.com/.../?ref_=nm_ov_bio_lk1
Although in fairness, 'Calvary' attempts to be a much deeper film.

Post New Requests Here / Re: Power Cord Falling Out
« Last post by tomos on October 29, 2014, 03:48 PM »
I seem to remember something like this posted on the forum.. but if not, i'd like to second this request. I've run out of battery power before because the cord had come unplugged and I didn't notice.

something like this was requested not long ago... found it:
4wd posted a script for it -

YTOTPC* - Pretty boring, any time there's a power state change it'll pop up a message box.  This could be connecting or disconnecting AC power.

... 1940's era Superman cartoons by Paramount Studios
... Low on plot, silly stories - but at least the characters looked like they did in the comic books. The artwork was superb. Nice art deco look.

very good
Look very 1930's in style (artwork, architecture) which would be logical enough I guess

Ok, I noticed only now that there is a wonderful option "Update clip modification date on paste" that is exactly what I was looking for. :)

good - I went to preview my post and see you found it

What you need is sync software that will monitor files and copy any changes over.
I use Syncovery (aka Super Flexible File Synchroniser, or SFFS) - lots of info about it here on dc.

The one Stephen mentions has a very good reputation - here's the most recent dc thread:
Bvckup 2 is in open beta !

I'm sure there's a few others that would fit the bill

I notice your numbers use commas instead of periods.  Is this something that is REQUIRED or could we use the standard decimalization such as 46.60?

it takes that from your windows settings.

@dmytron
would you consider this (or would it need a separate app?).
an app that would show what 'y' is:
y + 19%(of y) = 20.00

So I would start with the '20.00', add the percentage, and it would tell me something like y=16.60

hi Kellyzkorner,
I cant help you with your request, but wanted to say:
if the clips are important to you, you should back them up regularly.
Even more so if you are messing around with the script ...

AFAIK that panel uses windows explorer -
does Windows Explorer work for you for png file thumbnails?

OS info maybe? & SC version (current non-beta is 4.9.0) may be helpful

Is this really DC material?
Lets face it, you know that half of those topics will end up in the basement (which makes about six sensitive topics in one thred :o).

You dont have to be a graphic designer here - just creative :)

If you can draw/design something roughly, someone else** would have the technical ability to polish it if necessary.

« Last post by tomos on October 25, 2014, 04:23 PM »
I had a (european) hornet nest above the front door two years in a row (two different locations).
They got indoors occasionally, but I didnt have a problem with them (mind you @ ~30mm, they are pretty scary and do get the adrenalin flowing).
Apparently, unlike the Japanese variety, their sting is not very dangerous - thankfully...

Oh, ffs, this is like being back at school :D

* Stephen66515 posts a video about commas, in spite of the fact it might remind us of school :p (good use of commas, innit?)

I'm reminded: I joined the donationcoder fan club a couple of years ago - where you get stickers, membership card, etc. in the post.
I can still remember the envelope from Jesse, this was stamped on the back:
; Semi-colon
The most under-
appreciated
punctuation mark

PS. Is there a shortcut to paste the last clip as plain text (something like PureText)?

AFAIK the default hotkey to paste (last clip) as plain text is Ctrl+Shift+V (check in options/hotkeys in case different)

Cant help with the others apart from adding a +1 to the requests :-)
And welcome to dc!

General Software Discussion / Re: Firefox windows and CPU slow-downs and restarts
« Last post by tomos on October 23, 2014, 02:12 PM »
Yeah, Firefox has been a problem on win7 x64 here for a long time now. (And I gave up on PaleMoon x64 completely cause it just took over.)
Lately it's been very slow after startup, so I just leave it a minute or two.

I restart it every day - & also use Session Manager - you can set it to show a list of sessions on startup, your choice then which to go with.
