there's a two hour version (but I might save up that till I'm doing some mindless work).
A problem for me, and probably many others, is that the 'nothing box' has been replaced with the internet, which is about the opposite of nothing.

Re the 'fixing things' approach (when someone tells you their troubles), that's not just a men thing - a lot of women do that too.

And going back to men doing 'nothing' on occasion, and women not understanding it - here's a sketch from Loriot (unfortunately I couldnt find any version with English subtitles) so only accessible if you have a bit of German:



called 'Feierabend' - man home from work, sitting in armchair, woman keeps asking what he's doing/thinking/would-he-not-like-to-go-for-a-walk/or-do-something-fun etc etc till he loses the cool at the end

2nd.  Tomos:    I can't see a way to change th tile of an existing post?  Maybe here is one but nothing  I clicked on would get me there.
I appreciate everyone's good advice and even if it doesn't help ME, I am sure someone who reads these posts can use something of it.  Tough I agree I should have been more on topic when I named it :(

My first impression is that it is running quite a bit slower (or is a bit more resource hungry), at least concerning the following operation.  In the past, when I'd download a file with Firefox, the downloaded file would show up immediately in the download folder when open in Dopus. With v. 11 however I thought something was wrong because I was looking all over the place in the folder for the latest downloaded file and couldn't find it. It was only after some considerable time that the file eventually showed up.

Has anyone else had that experience?

I havent found DO11 to be more resource hungry (but that's with i5+8GB ram)
I have had some slow-to-refresh scenarios, but not often enough to follow-up on it :-\

Note that DOpus is now at version 11.8
This *seems* to suggest that they might be reducing the time between upgrades (version 11 having been released in March 2014 according to this thread).


EDIT// (in case version 12 is relelased soonish:)
I dont know what their upgrade pricing is when upgrading from an older version (e.g. for 11, version 9 or older; etc.)

There is another, perhaps more common, sign of "illicit" use. Someone turns up on the forum and asks for help. The people over there ask the questioner to "link their account" to the licence number for their installation. (Without that link, your call for help is likely to go unanswered.) The questioner often vanishes, never to be heard from again.
