Nice software.  Just what I was looking for.   :Thmbsup:

Nice work, MilesAhead.  I'll move this to the finished section.

Outstanding, works magnificently. Thank you!

The wonderful people over here at DonationCoder never cease to surprise me. Any suggestion for getting a borderless/undecorated/no title bar appearance?
-guerillablood (July 04, 2014, 01:59 PM)

Glad you like it.  You could play around with WinGet and WinSet changing the window style and exstyle attributes.  TopMost Toggle does it for Topmost style.  It has source and you can download here:
milesaheadsoftware.tk

The ahk help has a chart with the styles.  What you describe sounds like Toolbar but I'm not sure.

Please try this one

#SingleInstance force
#NoEnv  ; Recommended for performance and compatibility with future AutoHotkey releases.
SendMode Input  ; Recommended for new scripts due to its superior speed and reliability.
SetWorkingDir %A_ScriptDir%  ; Ensures a consistent starting directory.

GotFocus := false

~LButton  Up::
Sleep 250
If  (WinActive("ahk_exe SndVol.exe") )
{
    Send,!x
    GotFocus := true
    Settimer, CheckFocus
}
return

CheckFocus:
If  (WinActive("ahk_exe SndVol.exe") )
    return
    SetTimer,,Off
   ; If GotFocus is false window is likely not open anyway
    if (GotFocus)
    {
      WinClose, ahk_exe SndVol.exe
     GotFocus := false
    }
return

Thanks Miles, the script works fine, but it didn't quite achieve what I was going for.

I already have a hotkey to open the mixer, I was just looking for something that changed the behavior of the mixer window slightly so that it would auto close when it lost focus.

OK.  Let me see if I can add that.

"Work" sounds suspiciously like it may be manned by denizens of The Group W Bench

3082
See if this works as expected.

~LButton  Up::
Sleep 250
If  (WinActive("ahk_exe SndVol.exe") )
    Send,!x
return

The 250 is a quarter second delay to allow the window to open.  I've found 250 ms to be a good value for this purpose generally.

If you notice any delay or strange behavior in left button mouse click then it may need to be modified.  But the tilde prefix on the hotkey should allow the system to process mouse clicks normally... I hope.   :)

Edit:  I put a shortcut on my desktop because it can be difficult to click on a tray icon when the system is loading.  I forget where I got the Target line from.  But it opens the mixer:

%windir%\System32\SndVol.exe -T 49490633

I have 2 freewares that work on a similar premise.  There is no time-out.  Instead there are a limited number of spaces for recently close programs.  One utility is ReRun.  It works especially well on 32 bit Windows.  On 64 bit it's a mixed bag.  In a few weeks or months I may try to rework it so it works equally well on both 32 and 64 bit.  ReRun pops up a bar with up to 32 buttons.  The icon on the button is from the recently closed program.

The other one is ReOpen and it uses a ListBox with the paths of recently run programs.

To be more precise, a program doesn't have to be closed to be added to the list.  It just needs to have gotten focus.  In other words these monitor the active window.

They may both be downloaded from my site here:

There's a similar utility I ran into called Snap2html
that creates an html snapshot of a folder tree rather than a zip.  It's a freeware.

When I look in my profile info there is no line above "chance of advert" for the PayPal link. Just says Web site, Web site title, and yearbook quote.

Just from reading the clip in the link I have the suspicion that this is yet another example of "event A occurred before Event B, therefor A is the cause of B."  Do the implementers of the study have an way to know how the lab rats get all their news?  Like if lab rat "Killer Joe" also reads NYT hard copy or subscribes to KKK Weekly?

Since news is generally negative it might be more demonstrative if they fed the lab rats a diet of jolly good news and they all started posting through rose colored glasses.  :)

Just one question.  If I don't use the .ini from the download am I right in assuming the newer version of the program will write all the values it needs?

Edit: Never mind.  I see the .ini is not packed now. :)

I don't remember trying it.  When it goes free perhaps I'll satisfy my curiosity.  So I take it that it only eats ads when it's hungry?  :)

Glass packs?  I haven't heard that term in a long time.  Also known as Cherry Bombs or Smittys.   :P

Yup.  I'm showing my age.  I have a feeling I'm going to feel my age soon.

Am I showing my age when I say I have no idea what either of you are talking about?

Is that because you are too young to have heard the term or too old to remember it?  Heh heh.

The Korean film doesn't come in English language, which would completely ruin it as has English dubs done to countless previous films.

I'm with you there.  The only time I prefer a dub is when it's part of making a farce funnier.  Not only dubbing but I can't understand why they butcher some films during the American release edit.  I think I bought 3 DVD versions of Shaolin Soccer before I got the good 112 minute version.  The other American edits cut out the part about Gold Leg throwing the match.  Which is only the impetus for the entire plot.  :(

Thankfully the BluRay version was the good cut.  That has to be my favorite Stephen Chow film.

The Asian martial arts flick where the American release was actually better was Black Mask.  The hip hop sound track made the flick more exciting.

Not many American movie buffs are into Lau Ching-wan.  He played the police Sargent Rock in Mask.  But he is the lead in many Hong Kong flicks.  But I digress..  :)

In South Florida it is so flat that lightning often hits the ground.

It's so flat, that when I moved there as a teen, I remember thinking the sky looked weird...dome shaped.

A lot of things are warped in South Florida sad to say.  :)

Yup.  I'm showing my age.  I have a feeling I'm going to feel my age soon.  Now I know why vampires don't show a reflection.  They can't stand to be reminded how old they are.  :)  I try to dodge mirrors whenever possible.  :)

In South Florida it is so flat that lightning often hits the ground.  During a heavy storm it sounds like an artillery barrage.  Especially downtown Miami the sound bounces off the buildings.  In fact it's almost as loud as the guys driving Ferraris with glass packs.

Speaking of Asian Horror/Monster movies.. the first Tomey features Kanno Miho in the lead.

It's more creepy than scary.  Good fun flick.  I think in the sequels KM is only shown via clips from the first film.  But I may be mistaken.

Finished Programs / Re: SOLVED: Copy massive folder/file directory....
« Last post by MilesAhead on June 23, 2014, 07:11 AM »
I would give RichCopy a try.

I used it to copy Windows.old folder.  I forget the size.  But I remember there were more than 256,000 files/folders in it.  The target was a mapped network drive.  Virtual drive to same physical disk may be a bit tougher.  But this freebie was written by an MS employee no doubt dismayed by existing OS copy tools.

Edit:  What I noticed when I tried to use Explorer was I ran out of patience as it counted how many files it was going to copy.  RichCopy is multithreaded and starts copying right away.  Also it has a pause/resume mechanism.

Finished Programs / Re: DONE: Eject!
« Last post by MilesAhead on June 22, 2014, 09:13 AM »
Is there an app that will work with Win 7 and give me a button in Systray to open/close my CD tray?
Either that, or give me open/close in my drop down menu for the CD drive?
Mine has open but not close.

It doesn't use a tray icon.  It uses a small window that remembers location when closed.  It has radio buttons for the detected optical drives.  Also the virtual drives I've tried it with, pressing Open is the same as Eject in the virtual drive.  You may download from Softpedia:
http://www.softpedia...ancements/Tray.shtml

It has both Open and Close Buttons.

Here's a screen shot

Edit:  I tried it in XP, Vista, W7 and W8.  On W8 I only have a Laptop so I can't test the close button.  But pressing open kicks the drive tray fine.
