General Software Discussion / Re: Programming software for schools

Microsoft xCode offers a wide range of possibilities for many languages. Free edition available.
All driven by plugin technology.

My all-the-time favourite will be Delphi. There exists a free Community Edition.
For Delphi you have many free GitHub (or similar) sources.

StackOverflow.com offers a good starting point if you hang somehow, equal of language.

« Last post by KodeZwerg on August 18, 2020, 01:48 AM »
Good day.

Here is a small tool that might be usefull if you are a developer.
This tool simply just visualize wich Rights a new opened Application get.
Also a small feature to run more instances or open a URL is included.
By clicking on Image, whatever is selected by RadioButtons, something will be executed.
The executed will get all credentials and elevation level of current running process.

Also this tool claim all possible Privileges that it can get.

Here are some screenshots taken that demonstrate Privileges.

This is what any application get when running on administrative account.

NormalPrivilege.png

DC Website Help and Extras / Re: Testing new DC discord chat server
« Last post by KodeZwerg on August 17, 2020, 09:23 AM »
After small chitchat with mighty mouser I become registered and using discord client software where i do not need to accept any kind of cookie but have to accept license agreement.
I still miss a connectivity sign but it works better than web-based.
For short time I've been testing the Client, no problems encountered.

Nothing against new technology but this new advanced improvement kicks me out after about 1 minute of doing nothing.
Used via webchat-nonregistered-mode.
Any comments?

ps: what sucks it that you dont even see if you are connected or not.

After watching the clip.... besides strange feelings.... to me its either insane or crazy, but hell of fun to watch how far a single person can go.
Whenever he's not cuffed in a straightjacket anymore, my fully respect owns him.

Great question, since it's a new pixelformat that needs to be implemented correct.

Cool that you try out german powered games  :-* (Kosmos very fame here)

So I guess my point is that it's possible- it will just have to be enabled.  And video will not be enabled in both as far as your video cam, I think.

There is an option called "Join different meetings simultaneously on desktop" which is disabled by default. The feature to join multiple meetings simultaneously from the Zoom desktop client allows users to participate in or monitor multiple meetings at the same time. This is ideal for support staff who may need to monitor multiple meetings at the same time.

Once the setting is enabled, you can join multiple meetings by clicking on the join URL or navigating to https://zoom.us/join and entering the meeting ID. The Join button in the Zoom client will only work for the first meeting that you join.

https://support.zoom...taneously-on-Desktop

That's what i was endless searching for... fun fact: german version has not such settings :-/

But many thanks mate!

someone know: how do i open 2 zoom sessions on one pc? (company pc, zoom is permant open)
didn't find a qualified answer on net. 3am forum-time is cool for me.

answers that include "use vm" are rejected, not possible here.

//edit
solution should include ability to switch webcam/headset to target session, so i could use both at same time w/o interfere wrong session.

sure i win $1billion   :tellme: (joke)

*PREVIEW/First look*
Good Day everyone.
During my little spare time i've started to create another "File Explorer"-like tool and named it FileShell.
When this project is finished it is a "two-window" explorer clone.
For now it is just a one-window test environment to see what i'm doing.

Have fun watching how this project will grow :-)
preview.PNG

//edit
Why i've done:
i love to try out new things, this time PIDL was my target and how to deal with PIDLs.
the complete project is handmade by me, no internal/external/thirdparty (delphi) components where used.

Future plans:
first of all - activate second window  :P
drag and drop capabilities (internal and external)
build in whatsever needed, please suggest all you ever dreamt of  :-*

Whats needed:
feedback about how you like the first impression, if i should continue project at all or if its useless.
comments about how you like my explorer implemention, especially how you like folder contents and/or my hints on items.
bug reports are very welcomed!

Known bugs:
you can not use properties when you right-click a drive. (for that case i've done a quick button to do such)
315
Before i start doing something in that direction, maby windows can help you in its windows manners  :P
Windows Virtual Desktops -> describes how to set-up different Desktops.
Afterwards, place Icons and utilize links hotkey feature by using "properties" from a right-click on icon...
Just a suggestion.
316
If above dont satisfy you, i could code a snack for it.

General Software Discussion / Re: The best uninstaller
« Last post by KodeZwerg on February 24, 2020, 03:42 AM »
That feature i also programmed many years ago.... doing a registry snapshot before installation, same for installation folder, installation ended = create new snapshots, compare them and write differences in an own database.
It only worked for WindowsXP and earlier, Vista changed everything about "what i can do and what i can't do" i did not felt yet to update my logic :)

If many people want's, I could reinvent my logic to be WindowsVista+ compatible, to me it was just a fun project :)

General Software Discussion / Re: The best uninstaller
« Last post by KodeZwerg on February 21, 2020, 09:25 AM »
If you like, i could search for my "Installed products lister" that includes Windows Api calls for uninstallation.
I did not added anything else to it like "check product folder if empty" after uninstallation or anything else related to that topic.

Sincerly,

KodeZwerg.
I don't understand very well. I know the uninstaller comes with Ccleaner, but I don't like it.
Best Regards
What I was trying to tell: I programmed an application that list all installed products and registry keys for selected product with an uninstall option.
Since you've found something useful it's obsolete  :P

Best wishes!

Woohoooooo!!!! I can only bow my head in honor! You deserve it!!  :-*

Images say more than a thousand words, especialy when my motherlanguage ain't english  :P

Last description + photo tell me, i can't help.

My solution would be a generic windows helper, but redesigning a foreign application and it's child windows, i am very sorry, such skills i do not have yet.

Like Sorryformymen wrote, the AHK professionals should take over on that or my **ps part might work...

Good luck!

**ps:
Since i do not know that Coral thing, i would look out for a configuration file or registry entry, back it up and play back via batch when Coral is loaded, just a suggestion if Coral works with any kind of configuration.

I'm attaching a screenshot of my desktop
Can't await to fully understand the required functionality.

best regards!

This sound a bit challenging, i could try to create a program with this behavior, tell me if i am wrong on any line:

boot phase:
1. create a program thats only icon driven (notification area where the clock is)
2. ability to auto-load my app when windows boot
3. load last settings in memory
4. wait some time to give windows a chance to load other auto-loaded applications
5. as soon as a new process is loaded check if my app has a setting stored and force new window to be moved to stored position

icon phase
1. create minimal menu entries like "save current positions", "auto load my app on/off", "reset settings"

shut down phase:
1. let my app wait until windows shuts down
2. crawl thru all current active windows and remember their position
3. let windows shut down normal

problematic phase where i dont know yet how to handle:
1. applications that are minimized could be a problem since their positions arent revealed
2. applications that are just notification icons (like my own app), same as above

future phase:
1. maby create a window where you can see and edit stored settings...
2. maby create a window where you could choose wich windows you like to save manual...
3. other stuff that you like to have...

would such a thing be a solution to your request?

ps: the app that i create has nothing to do with desktop coral, it's standalone on it's own.
