So what's happening guys? Any more insights on tagging files? What about those impressions XMinus1?
302
we need standards!

yeah, FARR seems to be the main solution for me atm; I will explorer tagging for my start menu and files shortly

yeah that's right, GIMP is an excellent graphics program, it just takes a while to get used to it and learn how to use it, there are a few plugins/addons that make the UI look and act a bit like PS (as mentioned some where) - If you plan on giving the GIMP a shot (for the nth time ;)) maybe you can try one of them.

Basic / Re: What flavors of basic?
« Last post by mitzevo on June 19, 2007, 12:10 AM »
I think what Carol said is good, then again not every one is going to follow that scheme, that's if any one even posts in this child board :P

On second thought, BASIC usually refers to the old days of BASIC.. so VisualBasic, and etc. should be in a different board while this one contains BASIC, FreeBASIC, and varients.

yup, and it should be BASIC  :)

Photoshop is very good, and very expensive.
Looking for Photoshop tutorials? Google.

GIMP is also very good, but the learning curve is huge compared to Photoshop
Looking for GIMP tutorials? Google.

Paint.NET I executed once and never looked back - because I didn't have time :)

I like the Yahoo! beta mail system, it's pretty nice - apart from the hangups it has every now and then.
I started using gmail a few years back - seems to do the job all right.

hey tinjaw,

I'm a bit like you. I always seem to focus on having every thing perfect which is stupid. Especially when it comes to organizing stuff on your computer. In the end you just waste time, why bother with categorizing and and sorting, it's too much work..

Tagging is the way is think.

My Start menu is pretty organized, but like you said,  a lot of programs fall under different categories and vice versa.. it's the need to have every thing perfect that stops you from doing any thing.. Basically what I have now is Start > All Programs >

Office (contains Mobysaures Thesaurus, Openoffice, etc.)
Games
Internet & Network
Tools
Video & Audio
Development
Temp

and a few more..

The categorization is some thing that gets me too, some thing I'll have to get over shortly.

Sorry  ;D Didn't register the descrip. in my brain ;) then again.. Dev + Entrepreneur in the same cat? lol.. If it was Global Dev or Life Dev or some thing it would fit a bit more.. but I guess programming and entrepreneurs do go together some times :P

I brought AceText a few months back.. I'm quite happy with it.. doesn't say much about RegExBuddy.. but I do like JGSoft and their biz model about things... A solid software developer, so I don't think you could go wrong with at least testing it with the MBG..

Curious.. why is this in the developers section?

Online marketing involves general marketing.. copy writing, etc. plus the net extra's such as seo, ppc, articles, blogging, and a load of other stuff... online marketing isn't just about seo.. i mean how is seo gonna help if you copy sux.. etc.  :)

Just remember you get what you pay for.. well in most cases.. So if you want your site to be stable, don't cheap out on the hosting.. Especially if your site is a business one...  ;)
