Back to Unlocker,

IObit Unlocker.

Raymond tells:

IObit Unlocker the Solution for Today’s Unable to Delete File Problem

The Unlocker by Cedrick ‘NITCH’ Collomb used to be one of my must have software on my computer (...) However recently I found that The Unlocker is not as up to date with the current Windows operating system. Don’t get me wrong, The Unlocker still works but it requires a reboot to delete a file that cannot be deleted instantly which is a waste of time.

Recently IObit has released an unlocker software called IObit Unlocker which seems to do the same thing as The Unlocker, but it is definitely smarter and coded to work with the latest Windows 7. Most of the time there are two ways to use these file unlocking software. You can either right click on the locked file and select the software from the context menu, or drag and drop the locked files to the software.

Here is a simple test why I say IObit Unlocker is better than The Unlocker or even FileASSASSIN... read more: http://www.raymond.c...delete-file-problem/

well, now that I have learned how to use it, and have scanned 76,690 files, it won't be an issue for me either...

It was scanning 40.000 files.
Now, when the resulting file has been saved, it has no problem minimizing via the button.

a year later... I finally found an occasion to use FileParentView. Turned out that it was the older version; it was stable but will not Save. So I replaced it with the new version from July 2010. It will save but will not minimize; the minimize button will light up, but not do anything. I have to right-click the icon on the task-bar and use AnVir Task Manager > Minimize.

Is  this only happening to me, or does someone else have the same problem?

Vista 32-bits

Edited:
I forgot to say that merely clicking the icon in the task bar will do the trick,
-but the minimize button does not work here.

I said it a little wrong, about delaying Start:
If I delay my CFi's start, my Explorer will crash, when CFi launches.

Arhgg, I said it wrong again, didn't I. It is of course "merely" my CFi Clock and CFi Clipboard+ that must be started together with Windows. The mother-program CFi ShellToys is a collection of DLLs, nothing to "start".   I think

The CFi Clipboard+ is operated via hotkeys, arrows, and Enter. And delete.
Also, a large number of context menu actions can be operated via hotkeys.

I used ArsClip many years ago, but was disappointed for some reason - maybe it was the number of issues I think it had with Unicode. I trust this or whatever it was has been fixed long ago, but could be why I didn't consider it when I moved to Vista.

The price is £20 once and for all (78 applications!) per PC.

I am not sure what this rescue kit really is. Is there any way that I can use this to enter my old XP? It can only boot into a blue screen, and it has apparently no free space - a 'repair' installation CD was rejected due to lack of space.

For the "next" 22½ hours:

Update alert: the current build of Rescue Kit 11 Professional now supports AFD, 2TB+ disks, non-512B sector size disks, and even USB 3.0 devices!

Paragon Rescue Kit 11 Professional - Cure Boot Problems and Retrieve Your Data
Normal price: $100
Today only: $30

http://www.bitsdujou...-kit-11-professional

Edited: It seems to be a 1-year Technician License, rather than a "normal" pc-user license.

Paragon Rescue Kit 11 Professional is your ultimate solution to curing the majority of boot problems, enabling you to instantly retrieve your data. It supports all popular file systems and the recovery CD allows you to boot into the native Operating System that was installed before your PC crashed. Once you're in, you can retrieve all of your critical data and either save it to a different hard disk or partition or burn it to optical media. Postmortem functionality even lets you backup and restore data AFTER a crash. How easy does that sound?

Even as fantastic as recovery CD may be, Paragon Rescue Kit 11 Professional doesn't just abandon your old system -- far from it. With the Boot Corrector feature, Paragon Rescue Kit 11 Professional will be able to resolve the majority of Windows boot problems and have you back in business in no time! Registry errors - done! Corrupt MBR - done! You can even use Paragon Rescue Kit 11 Professional to undelete partitions that you've accidentally blown away!

--ArsClip, oh yeah; JoeJoe has written many a useful program. I was a big fan of his startup delayer, back in the old Win-2000 days, but he failed to upgrade for XP, so I left him for another, that jackass...

ClipMate surely is capable - but it gives me a headache; I think it is messy to look at.

What I like most about CFi is the speed and simplicity. It has what I need. And the very few times that I think I need more, it turns out that I rather will want to miss the extras, than miss CFi. So far it has been rock solid.

CFi is about ShellToys: right-click access to 53 context-sensitive shell extensions, and 25 small special programs like Clipboard+ (CFi is also my clock) - all managed from ShellToys Control Panel. So Clipboard+ is only a part of the bigger program, Shell Toys, but with its own exe file in Start. Sadly CFi will not accept to be delayed. I can not think of any other bad thing to say.

HALF a zillion, rjbull ;-)
I am not sure my opinion on software can help any one... My first concern is if the program is easy to use, and stable. Yes, I have tried many and I have disabled them all - except one of course: "CFi ShellToys Clipboard+". I like this one the best.

After registration, you are entitled to upgrade to any future versions of ShellToys at no extra charge.

Pricing:
First license:  GBP £20.00  (approx. US $33.00,  EUR €23.00)
Additional licenses:  GBP £5.00 each  (approx. US $8.00,  EUR €6.00)

clipboardplus.png
Clipboard+ is an extended clipboard utility which runs invisibly in the background while you work. Each time you copy text, graphics or files/folders to the clipboard in any program or window, Clipboard+ stores a copy of the same item, up to a maximum number of items that you choose. (When the maximum is reached, older items are removed to make room for new ones.)

At any time, you can open the Clipboard+ window by pressing a hotkey and view the stored clip-items. Any item can be copied back to the clipboard by double-clicking it, ready for pasting again. You can also search for items, delete individual items or clear the entire store. Text clips can be sent directly into a word processor, bypassing the clipboard.

DAZ Studio 4 Available For Free Till August 31st
posted on August 14, 2011 by Tim Brookes

3D figure design and animation software DAZ Studio 4 will be dropping its retail price of $49.99 to free for the remainder of August. The software, created by DAZ 3D, is used for the creation of artwork involving human models, animals, props and environments both still and animated.

The software is compatible with a large number of other suites and model types, and introduces one of DAZ 3D’s proudest features: the Genesis series of figures. Playing on the advancements made in the current version, Genesis enables users to create virtually limitless figure shape variations from a common base.

Note: free offer requires registration and free newsletter subscription for download. (Download is 435-462Mb)

It was impossible to download from the company's homepage; the file never reached more than 35MB (should be 435MB), so in the end I got a copy from CNet. I was surprised to see the alarms and bells that started from my security program during the installation, but I was in good faith, so I allowed it all to happen. I guess this was the problem, included in one of the 3 EULAs:

This application installs a small program which runs in the background called the DAZ 3D Content Management Service.  Installing this service requires administrator privileges and you will be prompted to enter an administrator user name and password during the installation process. This program does not connect to the Internet; but it will access ports on your computer. Antivirus programs and firewalls may show you an alert when this happens, so please allow access for the Content Management Service to function properly.

The DAZ Content Management is a database service that DAZ software uses to index, locate, sort, and associate content products. This allows a program like DAZ Studio to use product information files (called metadata) to associate one product file to another, such as a texture pose knowing it only works with a certain dress figure. Metadata is delivered by product installers at the time of product installation, and not through an outside service such as a network or the Internet.

The DAZ Content Management Service is being run as a separate process to make content indexing available to multiple applications, and to make the database service more fault-tolerant and robust. If a supporting application crashes, the content database will not be affected or corrupted. Running DAZ 3D software without this service will result in the loss of this ease of use content database service inside these supported applications.

Software uninstallers such as DAZ Studio, Carrara, and so on do not remove the DAZ Content Management Service, as this service is intended to remain on the computer between upgrades, to maintain the database service for all applications.

The DAZ Content Management Service is only uninstalled by running the DAZ Content Management Service Uninstaller, located in the Start Menu, or in the DAZ Content Management Service install folder.

The product database files created by the DAZ Content Management Service remain in the install folder after an uninstall, and must be removed manually. This ensures the DAZ Content Management Service itself can be upgraded without losing product database information.

Uninstalling the DAZ Content Management Service will result in a loss of this content database to all supporting DAZ Software applications.

But you are still happy with their PDF Converter ? Also their Dragon runs fine, I have been told. Maybe you had some locale problems? I find it weird if they can create several fine programs, but not figure out how to write just another version.

Well, never mind. I won't be purchasing any of them in the nearest future.
