Not all of the Doctor's companions were hot babes.

No.  Really?!?   ;D

I always suspected K9 was lulling The Doctor into a false sense of K9's subservience.  Just biding his time.  Sure enough he ended up with his own show.  I gather it only lasted one season?  Probably the human companion didn't show enough skin to buoy the, er, ratings.  I thought the K9 shows were fun though. I guess I would vote for it as Favorite Spin-off.  (Was there another?  I don't remember.)   :)

Should be a vote each for new/old divide
I liked the humor of Tom Baker.  For the modern Doctors I liked Eccleston.  The more macho dude in leather jacket brought a different aspect to the Doctor rather than a "more of the same" feeling.

@AH I'm glad to hear the WiFi is improved.  I'm curious to see what happens with Glass on the desktops.  Unfortunately I think it was too difficult to program to garner much support even from the development community.

The other thing I'm watching out for is the "blurry font" issue that seems to be related to W8 and later.  It's hard to pin down the cause or even if it's a Laptop only issue.

The filter input box that comes up may seem annoying but say I want to open a tab file with the default browser.  I just hit Enter twice(assuming you OKd when asked to set the default browser as the leftmost default button.)  For that reason I didn't make an option to bypass it.

There's a macro program included with BrowserBunch, BBSS.exe.  When the tabs you want are in a browser, make the browser the active window anf hit the hotkey.  It saves all the urls to a text file.  You can name it anything with a .txt extension, such as '
tuesdayUrls.txt or whatever.  In W7 and later you can pin BrowserBunch to the Taskbar and pin these text session files to it.  To launch the one you want, right click BrowserBunch Taskbar icon and click the file.

I think there's also a FF extension that saves the addresses of all open tabs to a text file one url per line.  That may also work with BrowserBunch.  I forget the name of the AddOn at the moment.

elevenforums.com taken?  :P

With MS getting cagey it might be like boxing a bet.  They'll register domains eleven through twenty and still not get a hit.  Maybe they'll call it Picture Windows because everything will be stacked fullscreen programs so they can also run on phones.  :)  Maybe like DesqView.  Hit a hotkey to switch programs(Alt Tab anyone?)  :)

Heh.  The Admin on W9 Forums had to scramble to change everything to Windows 10.

They couldn't just do a search and replace on it! What if they accidentally turned every reference to Windows 95 or 98 to Windows 105 or Windows 108? The results could be disastrous! :P

Heh heh.  That and a bunch of W9x references.  :)

The difficult part is the requirement to detect any browser launch, then check date and time against your rule set.  It would be much easier to run a program that launched any browser you want with the set of urls.

Note that as far as I know IE still has the bug where it will open multiple urls from the command line in multiple windows even if set to open urls in tabs. To get IE to work correctly the program would have to use the IE ActiveXControl.

I know there are some scripts on ahk forum that use it.  Have you taken a look there?

You can make as many Tab Groups as you want with Tab Grenade

Unfortunately you cannot name the groups.  The Tab Grenade tab shows them with the number of tabs in each and when the tab group was created.  The other minor quibble is if you press the Tab Grenade Button it creates a tab group even if only one tab is showing.  I feel the need to delete this before selecting the tab group I want to open.  Otherwise I end up with a bunch of singletons down the page.

It is simple and fun to use though.  I use it on Cyberfox all the time.

Edit:  If the Tab Groups could be named then of course you could name them when you want to open them.  Not totally automatic but if you know you are going to use a FF based browser anyway it would be pretty close.  Perhaps you should request the author add tab group naming.  It seems a logical enhancement.

@AT Morning Coffee looks interesting also.  I like that single tabs may be added to existing groups.  Tab Grenade basically just gathers the tab set even if a singleton.

The first post has been updated with new link.  Also the Readme.txt has been edited to correct the directions in quick start to use the proper hotkey, shift-F11.

Note that the Check For Update commands etc.. will not be updated since I don't see that I can add anything useful to this design.  The basic function works, to add a line comment to your downloads. At this point I am using a Laptop only.  It's fine for posting in forums, using online programs, but for programming anything more than a few lines or fixing a bug in existing code, it's just too awkward.  Even on a desktop with full sized keyboard I'm only about a 20 wpm guy anyway.

Hopefully some time soon I'll have a desk again at a permanent address so I can get another desktop PC.  I just hope it isn't running Windows 11.  :)

http://www.tenforums.com/forum.php

These guys typically get the forum going months before a preview release is ready for each new major Windows release.  A good place for latest news,safe/legal download info etc..

And once people are running it, tutorials, system tweaks and of course you may post your issues there for people to try to resolve with you gratis.

Glad the program Lanux linked worked for you.

WinMinimizeAll does the trick as the author of the script I linked was doing the same thing.  The difficulty is the Show Desktop panel apparently can never get the focus and so cannot be the active window.  Probably the way to do it is get mouse position after the click and see if it is over that panel.  Other than that it's just a few lines of code.

2863
I don't know if you can bypass clicking the Show Desktop Button.  But this toggle has already been done on this thread:
http://www.autohotke...sktop+%2Bhit+%2Btest

You could just change from a keyboard hotkey to some mouse combination.
2864
I'm on Windows 8.0.  It doesn't have that little panel to show desktop.  With Autohotkey comes a Window Info tool or spy that gives the window class name under the mouse pointer.  If you plug that into this script it may work.

Sendmode Input
return

#IfWinActive ahk_class "put class name as shown by spy without quotes here"
LButton::#m

Edit:  Whoops!  Yes it does.  I couldn't see it since I made the Taskbar transparent.  Hang on.  I'll try to test the script.

Edit2: I guess it's not that easy.  One has to keep track of the state and restore etc..
2865
I didn't realize when I suggested you post here that you wanted a hotkey substitution.  I was thinking of detecting when the mouse clicks the Show Desktop.  If the hotkey sub is all you need it's an easy one.

#d::#m

Compile or run it using Autohotkey.  You can put a shortcut in StartUp folder to have it start with Windows.

At first, I wondered why this was its own thread instead of in silly humor.  Now... I wonder at why it's still getting debated?   :tellme: ;D

One could say the thread is cat-ass-trophic.  Replete with half-baked puns.  :)

However, that means it is not a perpetual motion after all. It would consume cats bread and butter as fuel, as all three organic components would require regular replacement.

In that case it would be a per-pet-ual motion machine.  Only so many revolutions per pet.  Also it always pays to know which side your bread is buttered on.  :)
Then again a butter substitute may increase margarinal efficiency.

This seems circular.  I've contributed my small knowledge of the issue.  I don't have the problem so I'm not really in search of a solution.  Evidently you feel likewise.

If you hit Delete History and the files were deleetd it's likely because, as I already noted, the OS has no problem creating and deleting very long filenames.  Only the shell.  The browser can delete long filenames programmatically.  It's only Explorer that pukes out.

If there's a free or other file manager you can bear to use all the time that does not use Explorer under the covers, then it should be no thought required.  Select files and hit delete.

I haven't run into this often enough to search out such file managers.  But they must be out there.

Edit: In fact if anyone wants to experiment to see if Recycle Bin itself can handle paths >260 you could create such a file by some means then use my command line program sike to attempt to send it to the bin.

This utility was talked about before on DC:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/tlpd/

I posted a small modification that allowed larger numbers to be specified and if I remember right, it supported UNC paths:
http://sourceforge.n...3028c/?limit=50#55ca

Explorer Documented?  Next you'll be asking for Registry Documentation.

I think I asked about it on MSDN years ago.  Bill Gates replied:
"Documentation?  We don't need no stinkin' documentation."  But then again
my memory isn't as reliable as I remember it being in the past.  :)

The move on boot likely works because it uses the Registry RunOnce or Run key to delete the file before login.  It uses the del command which is command line.

You can create very long file names programmatically.  It's just Explorer that can't handle it.  A console based file manager anyone?  :)

It sounds like it can't be done through the shell because Explorer still has a 260 character path length limit.  The best solution may be a file manager without this limitation.

If you haven't run into this Explorer "feature" due to some old embedded code nobody wants to mess with hidden in there somewhere, you can do an experiment.  Make some nested folders until you create a folder with a path exactly 260 characters long.  Now try to make a new folder inside it.  It won't let you.  I forget exactly what happens, if there's an error msg or if it just does nothing as if it is ignoring you.

Command line delete should work with wildcards.  Just wtch out for any spaces in the file path.  A newer file manager is likely the no headache solution.
2873
But if I get the tooltip it should indicate it copied.  Maybe my system isn't the best test bed since I have many hotkey things running.  Just for grins I snipped a section of my code that does copy when mouse button and shift are down.  It works fine in browsers.  But when I removed the #IfWinActive that limits it to browsers it didn't work well either.  (Your code was not running when I tried it.)

If response is snappy on your system then there's probably something weird going with mine.   :o

Edit:  That may be why when I was messing with my own I limited it to FF chrome and Opera in the first place.
2874
It seems even less likely to copy now.  I didn't get it to paste with mouse at all.  One time it did paste with shift-insert.  But the first version seemed a lot more solid on the copy.
2875
For what it's worth I did a similar thing limited to certain browsers.  After dragging the mouse to select I kept the mouse button down, then pressed and released the shift key.  If copy succeeded it sounded a tone.  It's less versatile but also has fewer conflicts.  :)

Edit:  If you can get it to work in most everything I'd love to use it.  I can always comment out my mouse drag function.
