-maybe when the Windows version comes, Lytro will have had time to further improve on their little wonder app. Fantastic as it may be (already is), the pictures for now seems to only stand out while shot on short distances.

But just trial it; you still have 3-4 days to see for yourself.

Right now and for the next four days you can purchase a key for the full Ashampoo Office 2010 for $11.11 here: https://www.ashampoo...Ashampoo-Office-2010 ,
and in a few days, you should (hopefully) be able to upgrade with a discount to (SoftMaker) Office 2012. Be aware that I do not know for a fact if Ashampoo will be launching Office 2012.

You can install Ashampoo Office 2010 on a USB stick.

Is Zoner going the Ashampoo way (upgrading/major versions, instead of updating/minor versions)?

The $40 Shape Collage Pro does the trick!

I first tried to ask Shape to create a full sized (10.000x8.200 pixels) collage. This was not all possible:

Thanks for making me go and study your profile, so I could find your site for the first time - forgive me for being so 'whatever' slow! But I must say that I don't understand why you don't have a link in your avatar...
Fine site, rgdot - and you even have giveaways!

hmm... I did fear this problem would force me to re-install Corel, Magix, or Xara. They are quite capable in their areas, but I don't like them. They use procedures that confuses me, with terms that I don't understand. Support is expensive and/or weird, and they are always upgraded to even more expensive versions. ;-(

My current financial situation prevents me from purchasing PhotoLine right now. But I sure will give it a thought the next time I have some money. Thanks for telling!

-a small correction:

SyncBackPro Version 6 is free for full or upgrade licensees who paid on or after 1st January 2011. Otherwise $15
For SyncBackSE, Version 6 is free for licensees who paid on or after 1st January 2010. Otherwise $10

-you're quite right, Lutz_. My first problem with this project was that none of the photos had equal dimensions, so an automatic solution was by far the easiest way to go. I should have told from the beginning.

Another problem is the size of the dimensions. They are between 3000-4000 x 2000-3000 pixels per photo. DrawPlus and many more of the kind doesn't handle such dimensions well, because such applications are targeted at paper sizes - but this combined picture is approx 10.000 x 7.000 pixels.

I have never tested PhotoLine (because of the price), but it was my impression that it is more like a desktop-publishing program that also can handle photos?

IrfanView > 'create contact sheet' can both display and create PNG transparency, but not transfer it from the original PNGs to the final contact sheet, when combining:

Clip500board.png

@mouser; the above group was made in the free PhotoScape (which couldn't handle the transparency), but my setup is in Danish so you might want to download a copy yourself, if you want to know the options.

@rgdot; I already had checked some of them, and they replaced transparency with a colour. Besides, they don't handle full sized photos well.
2791
This is looking okay, but the black areas really should be transparent:

500-tile by Atomicpixal.jpg

Having edited the original nine normal JPGs into nine full-sized .PNG photos with transparent areas on each one, I decided to tile them (as seen on the above thumbnail), but realized that none of my many photo editors would deliver! Either they wouldn't offer to tile, or they would not maintain the transparency. It seems most can handle transparency if I edit the photos one by one, but not when I combine/group/tile the pictures.

So, do you know of a photo editor that will both combine/tile, and keep PNG transparency?
 :tellme:

Edited:
please do not tell about some expensive solution ;-)

regarding

DSC01272_bad_s.jpg

I am not an expert, but I have seen this error many times, and in my cases it never had to do with the camera or the card. The fact that you were able to recover a perfect example of the same file, should imply the same conclusion. In my situations it was always the transfer itself, the "safe as" or "move to". Of course this particular card may improve from re-formatting, but in general my best bet is, to try a more easy-going "Copy/Move"-program.

2794
I couldn't help my curiosity, so I logged in and grabbed the file. It is 11MB, 22.6MB unpacked, and from 2006/2007. It comes with both a full set of files and an installer, so you have the choice of installing or just moving the unzipped folder to Program Files. Java/Firefox 3 -related error messages seems mandatory:

General Software Discussion / Vivideo editor includes FLV editing
« Last post by Curt on November 07, 2011, 09:45 AM »
The main reason I now talk about the new Wondershare Vivideo is because, I was asked half a year ago by Wondershare, what feature I would want from a new video editor, and I answered that it should be able to import and use flash videos together with the "normal" video types. And here it is: Wondershare Vivideo 2.0 (new name, there never was a Vivideo version 1).

http://www.wondersha...ideo/1107/index.html

Now in order to reward your long-term trust and support, we specially offer 50% Discount on Wondershare Vivideo 2.0 with new name, new interface and functions, which is sold online at $39.99. Now you can get it at only $19.99. This is a time-limited special, order your copy now and save more.

Supports Various Formats
Import and export MOV, MP4, MKV, FLV and more, burn DVD or upload to YouTube directly.

Make amazing home movies from all popular videos, audios and photos
Edit and personalize videos/audios/photos with editing features like trim, crop, rotate, set volume, adjust duration, etc. for better overall video effect.
Retouch your movie with rich filters, text styles, transitions and motions

Save 50%: $39.99 $19.99 to Get Vivideo:

Note: Offer expires Nov 11, 2011
-Wondershare newsletter

My reason for requiring flash videos was of course that all the high quality video editors refuses to recognize flash videos as a proper format for editing. If quality is the key, they are right. But Real Life is that maybe 90% of all videos on the Internet are flash videos, so why the heck should I not be able to use them? No, of course video editors should be able to also import flash movies! Wondershare Vivideo 2.0 can.

If you never are going to import a flash movie for editing, you probably have no reason to use Vivideo - this is not an advanced editor. But if you make the purchase right now ($20 instead of $40), I think the price will match the quality just fine ;-)

Free trial.

Note:
Sadly, the license registering procedure is hard-wired to Internet Explorer.

The application is now called Planz.

Not updated for 1½ year, and the forum is not working
probably because of...:

Give Planz a Try but Remember…

Above all, remember that Planz is a prototype, not a product.

Jesse Patel of workflowy says
Yeah, we’re planning on offer offline access and eventually a desktop app.
dated last November

-that was then. This November he is now saying:

Our focus for the next year will be on the following: mobile, collaboration, and simplicity.

Mobile
Everyone who uses WorkFlowy wants it to be awesome on their phones and tablets. They want it everywhere with them. It's clearly a huge opportunity for us, and we want to essentially replace the Notes application that comes with every phone.

Collaboration
WorkFlowy needs to be as fluid for a group of people as it is for one of them. We always concieved of WorkFlowy as a collaborative tool, but we needed to nail the single user functionality first, so we launched without any collaboration. The collaborative features we currently have are great, but they're rudimentary. It is just the tip of the iceburg. Expect a lot of improvements for collaboration in WorkFlowy over the coming year.

Simplicity
We feel proud of the WorkFlowy interface as it stands right now. It can, however, be so much better. Thus, one of our three main product priorities is simply to make the existing features work better, and to make small but important changes that make WorkFlowy more enjoyable to use.
