Wow  :-* :-* :-* :-*

Wonderful !!!  Another patented SuperboyAC masterpiece, complete with the chaster of humour at the end.. gotta love it :)

Self-promotion warning: A major motivation for my writing my clipboard tool (Clipboard Help+Spell) was wanting to add a live search feature :)

Ruffnek you should absolutely definitely look into some of the free spellcheck libraries and soundex functions as f0dder suggested - that might very well be a very good thing to add to your program..  the idea of calculating scores based on how likely one word is to stand in for another is a good idea.. make your code modular so that its easy to add more functions that could check for various plausible alternatives for a word.

WINNERS OF THE FEBRUARY 2007 FREE SOFTWARE GIVEAWAY

A huge thanks to all of the companies who donated software for us to give away, and made very generous discounts available for our members.  The discounts are still available throughout the month if you didn't win a copy in the drawing:

More information about this month's discounts can be found here and here.  Both of these programs got some high-praise from regular members on the forum.

Winners of 'Notezilla' (5):
  • BrokenNails
  • Darwin
  • jcaister
  • kyrathaba
  • Ruffnekk

Winners of 'Chameleon Startup Manager' (5):
  • Ampa
  • dfluck
  • DreadLord
  • Isaac Patch
  • jjc

All winners are now being notified by email to their forum email address.  If you haven't received an email but your name is listed above, check spam filters and forum email address, and then mail [email protected] and let us know you never got any mail.  It can take a few days for companies to send you your serial number; if a few days pass and you haven't received it - send a reminder to the company email as noted in your winning notification email, or to us by replying to the email you received or to us directly.

Curious about how we award prizes?  See https://www.donation...dex.php?topic=1684.0 for a discussion about our custom prize optimizer utility. Winning something one month reduces your chances of winning the next month, and being helpful on the forum slightly increases your chances.

what you are asking for should exist and can exit.  I suspect their are programs like this already, maybe some good free ones.  please do take the time to scour the web for them.  give us a report on what you find.  if there are no good free programs that do this, it's something we should consider writing.

this would be a great assignment for the brand new LEVEL 2 TASKS in the Programming School..
27586
ah ok, well that makes life easier and i will try to see if i cant at least make it so you can still use rightalt+# to generate such keys, while left alt+# launches them.

ps.
if anyone is wondering why its been a week since the last farr update it's because im working every day on the new plugin system which will be used in farr and my other programs as well :)

great idea.  i wonder if there is anything for this already?
27588
looks like an interesting program.

note that this forum and site has nothing to do with illegal licenses - so our best advice on how to upgrade is.. buy it :)

but if it's a good program perhaps we can try to get a discount for members at some point in the future.

we're not talking about regex, we're talking about a smart search that knows how to search for mispelled versions of a word.

I'd really like to hear suggestions for search tools (or text editors with built in multi-file search) which can do such advanced searching based on phonetics or mispelled words, etc.
27592
i recommend trying to find a page on physics in games.  look into acceleration and velocity and friction.  it sounds harder than it is - it's really quite simple and it will give your ball a more natural control.  just my 2 cents.

pretty cool stuff.
27594
tanglos the flicker is kind of crazy when displaying the options form i know - ive tried to fix it but the skin engine (vclskin) has some oddities.

mmenfin - ok let's find a solution because that sounds unbearable!
i'm trying to think what the best solution is.. it sounds painful not having an easy \ key on your keyboard that sounds crazy.  when you say altgr+8 is supposed to be the \ character, what does altgr mean? is it just alt key or only RIGHT alt key? at the least i think i should be able to make it so you can disable alt+# key launching and use your alt+8 to put in a \.

all but the multi-redbox capture are easy to do and i will add them.

i have a slightly different feature that i think may satisfy your multi-redbox capture needs in a slightly different way.

keep the suggestions coming!

LaunchBar Commander / Re: my 2 cents
« Last post by mouser on February 12, 2007, 11:37 PM »
ah yes - i'll try to fix that.

you'll find that as soon as your dock is filled with more buttons that will stop happening; the code to figure out where the menu should display is a bit stupid and its mistakenly thinking your bar is docked to the left hand side. adding more buttons will stop that.  i'll try to fix it though.
