Stardock has just released their OjbectDock 1.9. It’s a free download that allows you to add a dock to Windows.  We’ve mentioned RocketDock previously which is almost the same thing made by the same company. I would like to know what movie organizer program (i.e., Movie Collector, All My Movies, DVD Profiler, Movie Organizer, etc.) people think is the best.


Here, for example, is a screenshot of Movie Collector

Programs like the ones listed above download information about movies from the internet and perform a variety of tasks with the information. I have found a few programs and looked at them, but I'd love to know about other's experiences regarding these programs.

This program works backward from output to data, converting graphed data to individual data points that you can use in various data-based programs.

Engauge Digitizer is an open-source program designed to convert charts or maps provided as images into numeric data which can be exported as CSV and manipulated using Excel or other programs...
Manual digitization, as the name implies, involves going over a chart and manually placing enough points on it as to eventually have an adequate representation of it. In this scenario you need not worry so much about removing unwanted information from the image since you placing the points yourself anyway.
Automatic digitization is an option whereby the program will automatically hone in on a graph (or large segments of a graph), or you can outline a point on the graph and ask Engauge to hone in on all points that look like it. For the program to do these things correctly you need to eliminate all visual data that is not part of the graph or chart you are after. You can do this by using Engauge’s own filters, of which 2 (descretize and grid removal) are available. (You can also do a lot of cleaning up externally using an image editing program)...

Here's another great Nirsoft utility that will allow you to get data from many running programs.

SysExporter utility allows you to grab the data stored in standard list-views, tree-views, list boxes, combo boxes, text-boxes, and WebBrowser/HTML controls from almost any application running on your system, and export it to text, HTML or XML file.
Here's some examples for data that you can export with SysExporter:
  •     The files list inside archive file (.zip, .rar, and so on) as displayed by WinZip or 7-Zip File Manager.
  •     The files list inside a folder.
  •     The event log of Windows.
  •     The list of emails and contacts in Outlook Express.
  •     The Registry values displayed in the right pane of the Registry Editor.
  •     The data displayed by SysInternals utilities (Registry Monitor, File Monitor, Process Explorer, and others.)
  •     The text inside a standard message-box of Windows.

There is not a specific, individual feature in Directory Opus that makes me prefer it. Rather, it is the program's customizability. It has many commands that are already defined and you just use them. When you need something more though, it has a very powerful script language that can be used to perform simple and brief to lenghty and complex tasks. I have many (hopefully no one will ask me to define that) programs on my computer, but none are as flexible and configurable as DO. At least I have found that I can use it at a simple level, but when I need to do something more complex, it will allow me to modify it to do what I need without getting other software. That's the mark of a good program in my opinion. Find me a file manager that is more powerful and configurable (will do more things) and I'll buy it and switch to it. I don't think it's perfect and I think it has some features missing, but I don't think anything else even comes close to it.

What's the point of all this? I don't know. Just expressing my opinion I guess.
