@james48 if the SC icon stays in the system tray after closing the main windows, it means that SC is still running.
You want the window to minimise to the taskbar? AFAIK this not possible.
Like KodeZwerg, I wonder why the SC tray icon is yellow (anyone ?)

^ first one I really enjoyed -- even watched another couple of their videos.
Second one I couldnt get my head around -- just seems crass to me (gave up watching it tbh -- FWIW if this was my site I'd delete it)

Hi James, I repeat: there are no employees here on donationcoder. Please note ;-)

Dear Employee, best Tom.

Thank you very much, it's all clear now. But even now, for me it was difficult to find.
I'm glad it's possible to make a program settings backup.
Yes, it is difficult to find.
But you should not be having problems with SC not starting with windows and/or losing the settings....

I've also send a topic about minimize Screenshot Captor, after minimize 'Screenshot Captor' the program is closing?
You got a reply there from KodeZwerg

Dear emloyee,
It is possible to SAVE 'Screenshot Captor' settings, please?
to answer your original question -- see screenshot of Options window below -- click on 'File' and select backup settings.

Helllo, thank you for responding, it sometimes happens that Sreenshot Captor does not start automatically anymore, then I've to reinstall the settings again
neither of these should happen.
I wanted to rule out the possibility that you unzipped the portable version to the default Programs folder (where SC doesnt have write permissions), but that's not the case. So we'll have to wait see what mouser says....

They should automatically be saved. Can you describe the problem?
Also let us know which version of the software (version number, whether portable or installable) and the location of the software (where installed/unpacked).
PS, no employees here :-)

I've heard people complain that wearing masks makes it hard to breathe, but how the smurf are you supposed to breathe in that thing? :o

Just from looking at it, I think the face hugger is just ornamental, and there's a mask underneath that it's attached to from where the elastic attaches.  I could be wrong.  If I'm not, I don't get it either.
I suspect it's more ornamental than functional :-)

Screenshot Captor / Re: Difficulty with latest version of ScreenshotCaptor opening
« Last post by tomos on August 13, 2020, 04:53 AM »
I also notice that it wants to open best and fastest from the little hidden icon box in the right end of the taskbar.  Pinning it to the taskbar and using that as a way to open it and even using the shortcut on the desktop is way slower for some reason.
Well, not to spoil your discovery, but that is the way it was designed to work. Either by activating a capture mode from the tray icon, or by hitting a configured hotkey and start capturing... :-[
Yeah, it's designed to run all the time, and then you have the choices of using shortcuts or the context menu of the tray icon, or the capture bar to take a screenshot. I always set it to start with windows.

Ah, the alpha version is jacked up, doesn't show the excerpt in the preview pane, clip text or whatever....
do you still have this problem? (I dont, but on Win 7 now)
if it is still a problem, probably best report it in the alpha thread and mouser should sort it

I can see the whole book:
the photos you combine in the double spreads work really well together. (That's a real talent in itself.)

I put too many photos in... some are better than others No sooner than I saw them in print, I noticed things in some photos that I hadn't seen on screen, and not improvements.
Was listening to a photographer a while back talking about selecting prints -- for sale or maybe for a calendar. They would print them and hang them on the wall for a week and see how they felt about them after that time.
Re the number of photos -- it's a lot of photos! I think any photographer would struggle to get that many together. If I may be critical I like the black and white photos but not sure they fit in with the rest of the images.

Sorry, I forgot, I'm actually using the Alpha version (see below) -- it's very stable, the Alpha aspect is related to being able to copy/save clips with formatting.

I'm able to delete clips here with portable CHS on Windows 7
All three methods work:
Select the clip in the main pane then:
  • press delete key
  • right click + delete
  • click delete icon

Maybe a repair database might help (backup first)
In Options, Other Stuff >Backup Maintenance

I recently had a photo book made by CEWE-Photoworld, with photos of my local area.  There's next to no text, bar acknowledgements, as I wanted something more like the look of mounted prints in a gallery.  Here are four screenshots from the CEWE software's WYSIWYG view.
Lovely!
Great to see some of your photos. And the presentation works very well

I'm wondering, is there a way to install a 2nd copy of CHS? Maybe to test it out?
There are portable and install versions available. Probably best to make sure they not both running at the same time. It's possible they both will use the same default folder for clips (you can choose folder in settings if you want to change)

I can check later re deleting clips.

Along with Designer (now @ full price of 55€) you get "Fine Liner Brushes by The Artifex Forge --
over 50 vector Fine Liner brushes, plus 10 Fine Liner textures."
one way of seeing if you qualify for these (or maybe other) free vector brushes --
Enable the welcome panel via menu: Help >Welcome and scroll through the images/advertising/tips

took me a while to figure out how to install --
eventually found this on yt from the author of these ones How To Load Affinity Designer Brushes

Looking at the contents of the 'riddle', I think it was in the right place.

Tired of the real world's shabby tirade of false 'virtue signalling'?
Any time that phrase is used unironically it's a red flag to me.
Sorry, I should have looked closer...

I've posted 'Riddle', here;

That's in the wrong board to post in if you want responses -- it probably had about two views before you posted this link.
@moderators, would you consider moving the thread to the living room board?

I'd say the thread is very much on the topics of "going primitive with discursion into zettelkasten".

There always seems to be a fly in the ointment with every electronic device I purchase.
I reckon that's always (nearly always?) the case. I dont use earphones, so never came across the problem. But did have other problems with connectivity (and needing to reboot to recover). In fairness that problem seems to have been resolved at some stage, but it's not that I'd particularly recommend Moto -- but I would at least consider buying again.

When looking to purchase something, I generally start by reading the Amazon one star reviews. That can get depressing though, cause there doesnt seem to be anything out there that doesnt come with problems -- maybe a lot of that is to do with the minimal quality control these days.
