Cute!

Also, since you're just beginning with C#, I'll point out that often-times the boilerplate code inserts using lines that you don't need.  In your program, you should be able to delete the following two lines without problems:

using System.Collections.Generic;
using System.Linq;

+1 for Iron Python.

Speaking of Python, you may enjoy/benefit from this article about that language, and its evolution, Superboyac.

Living Room / Wi-Fi Direct: Device-to-Device without Wireless Network
« Last post by kyrathaba on October 26, 2010, 06:34 PM »
The Wi-Fi Alliance is about to drop a wireless connectivity bombshell called Wi-Fi Direct. It will enable device-to-device connections using current Wi-Fi standards. The Wi-Fi Alliance will begin certifying Wi-Fi Direct devices today.

Communication between Wi-Fi devices isn’t specifically new. The Nintendo DS, for instance, has had device-to-device Wi-Fi interaction for some time, but the technology is proprietary.

The Wi-Fi Alliance differentiates Wi-Fi Direct by certifying the standard, ensuring interoperability. Devices stamped with the Wi-Fi Direct certification don’t need wireless networks, as they essentially become micro-hotspots.

This technology will conceivably allow devices like an Eye-Fi memory card to directly beam an image to a wireless printer. Since Wi-Fi Direct is largely software based, many recent devices should be upgradeable.

Speeds for Wi-Fi Direct are based on 802.11b/g/n channels, so we’re looking at intra-device throughput at rates upwards of 300Mbps. Range will also be a major selling point, and it’s reasonable to expect that future Wi-Fi Direct devices will eventually achieve distances similar to our home wireless networks.

Bluetooth will undoubtedly be the first technology to suffer as a result of Wi-Fi Direct. Although Bluetooth is aimed, almost universally, at close connections like headsets, it will be hard to trump the speed of Wi-Fi direct. Additionally, Wi-Fi Direct would use the same transponders as other Wi-Fi functions, so device manufacturers will likely be quick to cut redundant technologies.

Yep, all good advice, super.

The only caveat I'd add would be that if you have no programming background, you probably don't want to jump immediately into C++.  I tried that, and was very frustrated.  Backed up to C# and was delighted.  Delphi isn't a bad choice; however, having programmed in both, I can opine that C# is, to me at least, a more succinct language.  But there is .NET support in Delphi now.

I'm thinking of getting into dot Net and C sharp.  I think that's a good beginning for a newbie and the combo will mean fast applications I think.

A good choice, I think, as long as you don't mind that you'll be coding primarily for Windows machines.  Mono isn't far enough along to compare favorably with .NET Framework just yet.

I myself am a novice programmer.  I got my start with C# back in '06, and am still going strong.  I have some tutorials here on DC that'll get you started.  The only thing outdated is that I refer to Visual C# Express 2005 edition, rather than the 2010 edition ;)  And I'd be glad to answer any newbie questions, or to at least research it (if I don't know the answer) and point you in the right direction...

Ouch! I trust your wife doesn't read this? Or is this a case of you married the brunette the first time and the redhead the second?

Right.  The red-head is my second (and last) wife.

Might just be me, but that would have been a much better story if it was the following:

Father and Son team gather all iPhone's and other Apple related products, launch them into space, then detonate their self-destruct function outside the earths atmosphere causing an epic iMeteor Shower.

Now...thats a story I could sink my teeth into cheesy

There are multiple possible reasons for failure, and until every single one of these has been addressed I don't they should be allowed on public highways.

Same can be said of people ;)

I would trust the Google car in its present state (with a human behind the wheel just in case) far more than the majority of motorists around every day

Interesting video about how our emotional outlook -- an in particular, a species of 'fear' -- can affect our programming productivity.
