Find And Run Robot / Re: Blue Screens : FARR? just wondering...
« Last post by jgpaiva on March 24, 2007, 09:34 PM »
Welll... From my experience.. No.
I've been running farr for more than an year, and never had any blue screens :)

(sorry to disappoint you ;) )

I never change the default aliases.
I also think that it'd be overkill to add such an option. It'd only confuse people and add clutter.
On the other hand, you might make the default alias "protected", so that they can only be changed by the farr update.

Still, i think that the best option is to keep things as they are right now.

I'm almost sure there are some recomendations for this kind of software here in the forum...
I can't recall their names, though.

cthorpe: you don't select both, only strech (on XPpro).
I must say you got some odd effects, it shouldn't look like that. Are you sure you're using a bitmap with only 4 pixels?
You could try the ones edvard posted on the above post.

FARR can't find items in when it is in a folder that contain a folder of the same name. If I am in c:\devel and there is a c:\devel\devel\, I won't be able to see and select anything.

i'm having a hard time reproducing this -- it seems to work ok and as expected for me.
Yes, i also can't reproduce.

Actually, as far as i know, all of mouser's tools are portable. They all use .ini files and only change stuff on their own directory.

This program is brilliant! Any chance we can get different templates on different monitors? My secondary is widescreen and my primary is 4:3! I switch manually when positioning windows at the moment, it's a bit kludgy...
-supersocialist (March 17, 2007, 04:37 PM)
Well... Templates can be custom-made, so, yes.
I know the help file isn't much of a "help" and is quite confusing, but it (tries to) explains how to do it.
Or you could just post here which 2 grid you'd like to join and (if it wouldn't take much time), i could do the one you want.

Here's the code you used:
[attachthumb=1][/attachthumb]

It should be
[attachthumb=1][/attachthumb]
The only difference is the 1 after attachthumb=, so that the first image attached will appear there.

Oh, you mean like checking if a .doc file is open in word or something? I don't think i know how to do that :(

I have been using xp and ubuntu for a few years now, and it works great.
Current version of ubuntu automatically installs and configures grub for windows and ubuntu. (notice that you need to have both disks connected during install).
The only problem i've found is that sometimes ubuntu (magically) changes the grub.conf file which makes grub's configuration go away. I would definitelly recomend you to backup that file.
2741
Sure, that's easy. Only notice that it'll only work by the name of the process. It cannot detect if it's a specific file under a specific path.
It works in the exact same way as the other one, only that instead of passing it the path to the file, you pass it the name of the executable.

« Last post by jgpaiva on March 13, 2007, 02:29 PM »
Have you tried pressing CTRL+ALT together instead of AltGR? It produces the same output and it might just work...
No success :(
Unless i can find another alternate protocol or fix the damn vncserver, there's no solution :(

« Last post by jgpaiva on March 13, 2007, 02:10 PM »
Yes, app, i've already tried tightvnc. (and a bunch of others ;))
Then, i made some research and found out that the problem is known and is related to ubuntu's default vnc server not supporting these chars.

The solution for the problem was installing another vnc server on linux, which, although looks like a simple task, took me all the afternoon to not get anything. As usual, linux let me down. :'(

In the meanwhile, i leave this question here and at the ubuntuforums for the linux-savy out there that might be able to point me in the right direction.

BTW: i followed  this guide and got the same problem mentioned in the replies.

General Software Discussion / Good VNC viewer / alternative?
« Last post by jgpaiva on March 13, 2007, 11:07 AM »
I'm looking for a way to connect to my new linux box from my windows laptop.
Currently i'm doing it through VNC and it works quite well but has a huge problem. I cannot send any character that is formed with altgr ( {[]}@€ for example). This is a giant issue, as i intend to use that box for programming.
I'm wondering if this is related to the client i'm using (urltra vnc).

This means i need a new client or a new protocol.

I've already tried RealVNC and it also has the same problem.
Any suggestions?

Sorry cameelios, but here we don't do any illegal activities.
If you're interested in Folder Guard, you'll have to buy it.
Another option would be opening a new thread here and asking for a free alternative ;)

I haven't figured out how to get GridMove to work on my second monitor. Is there something I am missing?
I have the exact same setup and have no problem. I thing what is happening is that you're launching GridMove before having both monitors active. Just relaunch it after both the monitors are on and there should be no problem.
