First thing to do is see if it can detect packets even though the auto detection failed.. Just start it sniffing and browse the internet and see if the statusbar shows that packets are being parsed and counted.

Ok I compared to the old version and the new version is somewhat improved from that.  However I know I can get it smoother and eliminate this delay completely.  It will have to wait a week or two for a new version however.

This is actually probably due to my new code in the region capture function -- the updating of the cross-hairs lines are slightly delayed in order to make the actual performance better.. Let me see if I can tweak it to be faster.

I created a duplicate copy of cpanel in myaliases and named it "cp". (I also do this on my main account to save keystrokes.) Afterwards, the real "cpanel" aliases were still working ok, but the custom alias "cp" all showed a generic icon.

I'll have to go remind myself about creating duplicate aliases.  It may simply be that it copies the alias but the icons aren't in the new alias directory so they aren't being found.

One thing you should check out though is that FARR now has a "Quick Search Words" area specifically designed to make it easy for you to specify shorthands for things, so if you just added
cp=cpanel
To that, you could type cp instead of cpanel.

Regarding icons, it could be really handy to add a feature/option to show batchfiles icons in a different way:

This is an interesting idea.. perhaps an option to set custom icons by file extension would be useful..

4.27.3 minor update:
[Improvement] When copying a selected region to clipboard or saving a selected region as a separate file (see toolbar button and save menu for this handy operation), it will now properly save alpha transparency if the selection is non rectangular (for example made using lasso selection or auto adjust region action).

And for anyone who ever wants to regularly capture images at certain sizes, or crop to certain sizes, I encourage you to check out the MyFavorites tab and set some favorite sizes, and check out the new feature where you can quickly select these using keys 1-9 in region capture and in editing mode.

At this point I would appreciate any and all beta test reports.  I have made some non-trivial improvements and I want to make sure I didn't break anything before I push out an official update.  You don't even have to try the new features, just use what you normally use and let me know if the thumbnail panel ever acts up on you.

If you could check that the alias folders have the icons in them.. and let me know if this is a portable or setup install.
