Try this build, please:  Zero Zipper v1.0.5.6

This one should have basic Unicode support.

Thanks, foraminut, and welcome to the site.  I do mention this fact on my website page for Files 2 Folder but I probably should mention it in the help file as well, eh?   :D

Try this build, please:  Zero Zipper v1.0.5.5
2604
It works almost as I like  ;).

For deep night operation, even reducing light by 90% may be not enough. It would be nice 95%, but the parameter has a resolution of 10%. Is it possible to increase the resolution? I would like: 91% 92% 93% ... 99%

Please redownload and try it now.

Good job   , I am going to pay anyway. Can I get an invoice/receipt?

What format would you like?  Would a simple email suffice?

Welcome to the site, fabio.parodi.  Please give this a try:  DimScreenMod3

Usage:
DimScreenMod3.exe [0-100]

Let us know if it works how you like.  Thanks.

What are you using for the temp folder value?

Hi, lastgasp, and welcome to the site.  Please give this test build a try:  Zero Zipper v1.0.5.2

This version has a customisable temp folder setting but let me explain how it works.  You specify the folder to use and Zero Zipper will then create a folder with a really short name (basically, the first number from one that doesn't exist) and use that to create the zero-byte structure.  So, if you specify something like c:\tmp, the actual folder that will be used will be something like c:\tmp\1.  This allows me to work within a new, empty folder and easily delete it when finished zipping it.  At any rate, give this version a shot and let me know how it goes.  Thanks and sorry for the late reply.

Thanks for creating this really helpful tool, I have been looking for something like this for a long time!

You're welcome and welcome to the site.   :)

I am with Deozaan on this, any chance of incorporating "trim duplicates" option?

I've added this type of logic into the latest build.  However, the expectation is that the user load any checksum file(s) FIRST.  This way, all files within the checksum file get added with their appropriate checksums.  After that, you can add files/folders and it will only add files that don't already exist in the list, to the list.  Does that make sense?  At any rate, give this version a try:

v1.1.0 - 2012-02-12
+ Duplicate files are no longer added to the list.  (Thanks, Deozaan and daws0n)
+ Last used folder should be remembered now when adding folders.  (Thanks, Deozaan)
! Handled bug where an erroneous MD5 checksum would be generated for a Unicode
filename whilst using the ANSI version.  (Thanks, Cornucopiae)

Best E-mail Client / Re: E-mail client recommendations
« Last post by skwire on February 12, 2012, 01:38 PM »
Late to the thread, but I have to throw my hat into The Bat!'s ring for one simple reason: 33,000 emails. If you can find any other email client that can handle that many emails without slowing to a crawl or even down-right imploding I'm listening. Seriously.

Becky! from Rimarts can handle that easily.  It doesn't have all the bells and whistles that The Bat! has, but it's been my sole email client for over a decade.  My install currently handles 22 accounts with a mix of IMAP, POP3 and NNTP along with several hundreds of thousands of messages across them.  One of my most favourite apps ever.

As with p3lb0x, I've got some bundle purchasing overlap and have the following Steam keys to give away.

  • Bunch of Heroes
  • Hacker Evolution: Duality
  • Hacker Evolution: Untold
  • Hoard
  • inMomentum
  • Your Doodles are Bugged
  • Zombie Shooter 1
  • Zombie Shooter 2

Don't be shy...  Holler if you'd like one/some/all.   :D

Thanks, MilesAhead.  This is due to compiling it with the AHK_L build for Unicode.  I'll take out the shell extension portion in the next build.

Ever since setting up my ftp server, I've noticed it being hammered constantly by China.

Are you running your server on the standard port (21)?  If so, change that to something else and you'll notice the hammering go away.  I'd recommend something way up in the available port range; somewhere between 30000 and 50000 ought to be fine.

Thanks, all, for the patience and testing.     Delete your config.ini before using this version.  Thanks.

v1.2.7 - 2012-02-01
+ Added "Open file location" to the Edit menu.  You can also use the Ctrl+O hotkey to invoke this.
+ Added "Date Modified" column.  (Thanks, Wayne)
    * Moved "Cancel scan" button off the toolbar and put it at the bottom of the form.
2619
1.2.6.5 runs reeeally slow and the Cancel button still doesnt work.  1.2.6.3 seems to work best, now that we know we can't run it from the temp directory.

It was worth a shot.  Here's the last test build for the night.  I moved the Cancel button off of the toolbar; it's on the bottom of the form now.  Let me know how this one goes.

PlayTime v1.2.6.6
2620
1.2.6.4 required a TaskSwitcher intervention to kill it since it was using about 95% resources on my wimpy processor.  I tried fervently to get the Cancel button to work before that .. no go.

I was afraid of that.  Dangit.   >:(

I was just thinking that a sortable column for the Modified Date as yyyy/mm/dd hh.mm.ss would be useful.  Would that be possible?

I'll consider this.

Also, Rt.-click Open Folder (a 'simple' Explorer window, without the tree .. faster).  Obviously this could only be an option for a single highlighted file.

I'll consider this as well.  It's easy to do.

If config.ini was instead named playtime.ini (whatever.ini actually, in case someone renames it), then there would be less potential conflicts with other programs in the same folder, should they be using the same config.ini name.

I'm a one-app-per-folder guy.

Another build to try.  Have your Task Manager ready.   :D  PlayTime v1.2.6.5

2621
Now, I wonder about the Cancel button which still doesn't work...

Try this build.  I tried to increase the thread priority of the toolbar when a scan is going.

PlayTime v1.2.6.4
2622
@Ath: Thanks very much!  I really appreciate it.

@TT1: What happens if you cut down the extension lists to just a few extensions?
2623
My copy is ("merely"?) using a couple of seconds, to abort a huge scan.

Right, it depends on how large of a file it's right in the middle of scanning.  If the toolbar button doesn't appear to respond well, press the Escape key.  That will stop a scan as well.
2624
TT1, just for grins, would you please email your config.ini to me?  Thanks.
2625
are you saying that for the sake of future versions, you expect to stick to this new "slower but more supportive" concept?

Correct.

Unfortunately it still doesn't see any of the video files, and the Cancel button does nothing...
Whoops, meant to say it doesn't see any of the Audio files.

The Cancel button won't enable unless a scan is going.  As for the other issue, I'm really at a loss.  I've verified it works on the following:

XPSP2 (via VM)
XPSP3 (my own computer)
Vista (via Curt)
W7 (my own computer)

I'm trying to track down another SP1 box that we can use for testing.  Even a VM would work for this purpose.
