Mouser,

Have you considered ridding yourself of the titlebar for farr? Thats one thing I like about all of the other launchers I've seen. They are just the search box, with a results box which pops up after entering text. Perhaps you can A. Rid us of the titlebar area, B. add an option to only show previous results if you want them to show, and C. Clean up the options dialog into a more modern and organized fashion. This would make it more aesthetically pleasing for most of your users. I am willing to design the options dialog if you would be interested, just let me know.

General Software Discussion / Re: XP or Vista user — take the poll!
« Last post by Josh on July 23, 2007, 07:34 PM »
I am running vista, and I love it. I hear people bad mouthing it left and right, but the only problems I SEE are from application developers not updating their programs to store settings the proper way. With vista, permissions and settings are stored in the users appdata folder (%APPDATA%) as opposed to program files. Microsoft finally realized that programs, after install, should not require any further access to that folder besides to launch the program. If a program requires global settings, that is what the DEFAULT user folder is for.

Vista is fast, smooth and I havent had many problems.

Announce Your Software/Service/Product / Re: Income 4 Dummies
« Last post by Josh on July 22, 2007, 02:33 PM »
I dont have a problem with the thread, the problem is that you have a referral link, so you are getting some sort of credit for it, and you dont make any mention of this. If you are getting something out of this, as is shown by the uid in this link, LET EVERYONE KNOW. Hiding things like this makes others weary of your post.

I have no problem with people making money by posting referrals, but let us know that is what this is and that you are requested to purchase something else in the end.

I would like to see the OP post the full URL as opposed to a shortened URL. If you are trying to get us to click a referral link, SAY SO, because many of the posts you have made include links which use a referral type link as well.

I'd love to see the scrollable results window! That would rock!

I use IMAP. I think this might be why :-/
2542
Are you using pop or imap?
2543
Thanks man :) Appreciated. I am thinking its not possible based on responses on the msdn forums :-/
2544
That controls the menus on the menubar, not the folders in the folder layout :-/

Update check. Does anyone know of a way to have outlook leave all folders expanded how you set them up each time it starts up? I have been looking for an answer to this for months but cant find it. I am close to calling microsoft and paying $50 to get it fixed. PLEASE! I ask of you, help me!

Best E-mail Client / Re: Best IMAP Client

Windows live mail and OE do not support rules for IMAP clients. Outlook is the only one which supports this but outlook's imap support is very slim.

I have to say, I am impressed by this article. Very well written. You have convinced me to purchase an old p3 or two off ebay and setup a couple of linux boxen (one I wanted to use as a firewall, smoothwall or ipcop). Thanks for the great read!
