+1 with Mouser on that point. The name doesn't have to perfectly fit the site so long as it's recognized.
-40hz
+1 again.

The name is also nicely ambiguous, viz. donation to coder for software/donation of software by coder.

agreed -- it should be really clear you are on a 404.
Yeah, you don't want people staring at Cody for too long  ;)

I feel that, since we all seem to like one another, we should try always to encourage input from newer members. That way we'll have even more of us to like. It's difficult to like someone who has no voice here.
The more topics, and the more contributing points of view, the better.

This very sentiment is often expressed here and in the newsletters. I do think that, by and large, we are fairly welcoming but are there more ways to encourage new voices?
I don't know if particular people are specifically tasked with welcoming new members but not many of us seem to say 'hello' when a newcomer passes by.

Some of our major contributors are remarkably good at launching topics that attract wide interest and participation.
I wonder if more of us can initiate thought-provoking threads?
Speaking as one of the intellectually bankrupt, I always enjoy the chance to feast on crumbs from the clever members' tables.

Is it not true that, in some parts of Yorkshire, mentioning mayonnaise remains a hanging offense?

Thanks to our organizers for arranging this month's give-away!

Thanks also to Outer Technologies, 20 licenses for Linkman is an impressive donation!

So I'm very big on encouraging good documentation.
Cody Quill anyone?

I think you've nailed it, 40hz. Where there's a quill, there's a way.

Can I interest you in an array of second-class applications? Any takers?
-Cranioscopical
True: it wasn't meant to infer lesser class -- just different. Suggestions?
-Perry
Maybe "extended entry"? .. to me that doesn't convey any distinction in quality, merely that the entry contains something more. Of course I am not a native English speaker
-Jibz

I am a native English speaker and "extended entry" seems to me to be a good fit.

I'd like to take this chance to say that the stewardship provided by Perry looks already to be as outstanding this year as it was last.

Perhaps there's a slight difficulty with the terminology.

Suppose there were, say, 107 NANY entries.
Further suppose that 5 were "First-Class".
Then suppose that the remaining 102 were generally regarded to be of equal merit, one to another.
Now you have 102 second-class entrants.

Can I interest you in an array of second-class applications? Any takers?

I have a pair of side-by-side 27" 1920x1200's here with a physical size of 49" from edge to edge.
I don't find any problems resulting from looking from screen to screen.

What I do find with multiple monitors is that they obviate the need to keep switching between different pairs of eyeglasses.
Before using multiple monitors I worked from a combination of hard copy and a single screen, thus requiring different reading lenses for each. Now, with multiple monitors, the information that would have been hard copy is displayed on screen -- only one set of reading lenses required. I find this to be a major benefit. (Bi- or tri-focals are just too limiting with screens of this size.)

I tend to 'work' always on one of the screens and to use the other for reference (data sources, help documents, perhaps email etc.).

I haven't tried a setup with more screens. Were I to do so, I suspect that 4-wide would be more useful to me than 2-over-2.

I recently started using a new search engine, [url=http://duckduckgo.com]DuckDuckGo
Thanks for the suggestion, we should take a quack at it.

It's working fine here, having picked up my existing .ini file

I installed by stopping FARR and then replacing the TimeZone folder under FARR\plugins.
When I restarted FARR, TimeZone initialized fine but 'tz' showed me my local time for all slots.
One manual TZ ReDownload fixed that (I have 'download each launch' turned off).

Thanks again for the fixes!

Updated TimeZone to 1.4.0!

got the 2nd one set up.  Everything is pretty much as expected.  Doesn't seem to bog at all copying from one dock to the other through the ports on the same card.  The speed is more dependent on what HDs you happen to have in the docks.
Nice when something works out as well as you hoped, or even a little better

I use to love Partition Magic until Symantec assimilated Power Quest
I was at a user-group meeting for OS/2 when the PM product manager turned up to demo version 1 before its general release. "Magic" really did describe the reaction of the group.
