Second the map idea.

I was getting a bit worried and even asking about Cody in the Donationcoder IRC channel. Good to see he is fine and having a great time!

I have had the best results with DVDFlick.  You can create a menu or not, and it converts FAST, easy, painless.  I use it to convert my camera's 720p Quicktime .mov to a DVD.  Insert movie, click create.  Simple or advanced however you want it. Here are just a few screenshots of some of the options.  It is really incredible that this is free.

Living Room / Re: Play Media Files on my Network House-wide?

Just share the folders your media files are in, on the network.  The other machines can mount them as a drive and easily access the files, and even copy/paste them to their hard drives...

Windows 7 will allow you to do that.  You can even share over the Internet with other Windows 7 devices.  I currently share music, music videos, and movies to my PS3 and the 3 other computers here, and my laptop on the road with Windows 7.

General Software Discussion / Re: Win7: Anyone else getting excited?
« Last post by y0himba on September 30, 2009, 10:30 PM »
I just finished installing my free, completely legal copy of Windows 7 Ultimate.  I am running the RTM right now, and it is NICE.  I have been running the RC 7100 for a while but this is lighter, with subtle changes all around.  It is also a buttload lighter than Vista was, although I cannot complain about Vista, I honestly had no issues with it after a few well placed tweaks.  I recieved it for attending the New Efficiency launch event in PGH, PA.

Here are some photos: http://www.y0himba.net/images/win7event  (It's ugly, but works.  I am tired and made this quickly)

I will put a few videos up tomorrow on my Youtube:  http://www.youtube.com/user/y0himba  (There is one there now, streamed from my Smartphone)

Mini-Reviews by Members / Re: Mini-Review-John's Background Switcher
« Last post by y0himba on September 21, 2009, 07:00 PM »
Version 4 has been released with even more amazing features, effects, and MORE SOURCES.

Announcement here: http://www.johnsadve...witcher-4-goes-live/
Change log here: http://www.johnsadve...rum/topic.php?id=708
Main page here: http://www.johnsadve.../backgroundswitcher/

The option I wanted most it lacks - an OS X type of fading effect from one image to another. Sad, I would have kept it if it had it (I told the dev about it, it may be in another version!).

@SectorSeven:  Yes, to me it is the easiest, most stable, and best VM I have used.  I absolutely love it and have been using it for a couple of years.

He should have at least gotten Eric's permission to post it.  He should also have a larger disclaimer that it is not his and offer contact info to the original author.  If anything, it is just common courtesy.

Hunt and peck all the way.  I took typing a couple of times, can't do it. I can type a whole 17 words a minute, and even spell some of them.

Post New Requests Here / Re: Req: Taskbar Extender/Spanner
« Last post by y0himba on September 05, 2009, 06:42 PM »
I am currently using Ultramon, but it has too many features and the taskbar on monitor two is unable to use the address toolbar.  Multimon doesn't support Aero, Zbar seems to be a pseudo taskbar?

Maybe Skrommel would be interested? I would just like a simple, small program to do just that one thing and nothing else.  These are the times I wish I were able to program and build things like this...

Post New Requests Here / Req: Taskbar Extender/Spanner
« Last post by y0himba on September 05, 2009, 10:01 AM »
Well is seems that Microsoft, in it's infinite wisdom, changed the graphics architecture in Vista and Windows 7 so that monitor spanning (one huge desktop out of 2 or more monitors) is no longer available.

I am requesting a small program that will span my windows taskbar over 2 (or more) monitors.  It should show the program's taksbar entry on the relevant monitor's taskbar.  If i have Firefox open on monitor 1, then it's taskbar entry will be on monitor one's taskbar.  Then if I have Explorer open on monitor two, it's taskbar entry will be on monitor two's taskbar.

I am hoping that will be all it does.  No wallpaper management or anything else.  Just a small resident or non-resident program that can be run at startup then hidden and will only appear in the task manager list.

There are a few programs that do this that are shareware but include a ton of other features I am not even interested in.

Thanks in advance.

What's the Best? / Re: Video conversion: What's the best (freeware or shareware)?

I use a freeware "Format Factory" which converts just about everything.  AMAZING converter.  Tons of features.
