In a couple of hours PhotoCommander 6 will be launchedNo offense but what do you see in this program that freeware doesn't do better? If you want to spend money on a multimedia solution, then get J.Rivers Media Center for $10 less. Now that is a top notch, powerful and comprehensive program.
- download is expected to be ready at 1700 hours CET (GMT+1).
I have purchased a copy...
Edit: added the download link.-Curt (December 21, 2007, 08:29 AM)
You can synch the databases (they are simply files) using a simple synchronization program such as super flexible file synchronizer (SFFS)Well, I have Syncback SE but I would have to be careful that I don't make changes to more than one database before doing a sync. Not sure I want to take that chance.-urlwolf (November 30, 2007, 08:32 AM)
Sony also released one recently, Ars Technica have a review of it. The price is the same, what a coincidenceActually, Sony just updated their previous version. They have had one out for quite a while now. I own the previous version and I love it. It is very readable and very portable. I can carry around a library of a couple hundred books with me in the same size as one very thin paperback.-Lashiec (November 19, 2007, 12:50 PM)
OR,I'm a big fan of images. I have an image of a clean install of Vista that I could go back to if I desire. Whenever I install a new operating system I tweak it and activate it, then I image it. I like to try a lot of new software then usually uninstall it. After several months, I like to reinstall my fresh image of XP. I know that's anal, but that's me.
make a backup drive image of your vista install before reformatting so you can restore it and go back if you want.-mouser (November 24, 2007, 11:36 AM)
Now... following this trend, should I retrograde to Office 2000? The file formats are (mostly) the same and that 12 megabyte(!) memory footprint so very sexy.-Ralf Maximus (November 20, 2007, 10:49 AM)
RE: activation, the activate.exe file actually "phones home" to GATD and returns information that is written to your registry. This must be done during the 24 hour giveaway period. The information written to your registry unlocks the software/provides the licence key for the software.-Darwin (November 15, 2007, 03:41 PM)
This is correct, I unzipped the setup file with a note from GFOTD after unzipping and checking with the GFOTD website it unpacked a new setup file, I copied the new setup file to a flash drive and installed on two other computers, ( no badgering, or demo warnings, checked the about file under help, seemed to be active. )
I have been synching between desk and laptop via a USB stick and it doesnt need the USB version to work.True enough. I was only thinking of my situation where I carry my database around on my USB drive. And CWuestefeld mentioned synching to his USB drive. If you want to keep 2 desktops in sycn then I think that's all you need.-Grorgy (November 15, 2007, 12:24 PM)
Evernote, on the other hand, appears to have its own built-in sync feature.Yes, but in order to sync, you have to also purchase the USB version. Sycn works very well though.-CWuestefeld (November 15, 2007, 11:23 AM)
Not sure but I think there was a link on the website about updating templates? There is. Unfortunately, if you read all the posts in that thread, nobody can get it to work.-Carol Haynes (November 14, 2007, 04:20 PM)
I think you're right, carol : as you said, the database can be accessed and edited regardless of EverNote's version : 2.1 or 2.2.Actually, it turns out this isn't entirely true. With the new version, all the old templates are now broken. I have a lot of data in tables and now I can't access them. You would think that something as simple as table support would be added to the program but we have to rely on templates. Now the templates are broken. As you can probably glean from above, I am not happy at all.-Armando (November 03, 2007, 10:27 PM)
