N.A.N.Y. 2014 / Re: NANY 2014 RELEASE: Weather Station Warlock
« Last post by hamradio on September 17, 2015, 04:59 PM »
Updated to 1.0.0 build 1 with a few fixes as listed.  If you got the error with previous version be sure to go into the cache folder and delete states.txt file as well.

1. Added a user agent for when the feed gets downloaded to fix download forbidden as the national weather service has started requiring a user agent to prevent an error 403 forbidden on requests it appears.
2. In turn by adding a user agent it is now downloaded slightly different.

Please update to the latest version as previous versions will no longer work the way it appears (download link in first post).

Thanks! :)

PBOL / Re: Latest Progress Bars of Life - Version 2.03 - May 16, 2014
« Last post by hamradio on September 09, 2015, 05:09 PM »
I spotted a minor bug (or feature?) in the latest version. Ampersand doesn't get rendered in an item name. Instead, the next character gets underlined, when displayed as a bar title.

Try putting 2 of em like &&.  I think that can fix it if I understand what you want.

Living Room / Re: When you make your 100'th Post
« Last post by hamradio on August 23, 2015, 09:07 PM »
I slipped up on my last 100th mark, so I suggest a forum feature that reminds people when they are within say 2 posts of a new 100th milestone. :)
So when you go to make a post, you're already set to post something, so it allows for that by telling you basically that the post after your next will be a 100th.
Or...something like that.  :)

edit: with opt/in-out feature.

Or even an addon/bot to post it for everyone under their name... ;D Just a thought...lol

General Software Discussion / Re: Ooh, CarotDAV portable ROCKS!

Nice and just a note from the CarotDAV website so everyone knows...

By default, passwords are saved with no encryption. -> In the setting file, there are login IDs and raw passwords. By default, it is not encrypted. If you want to avoid risk, use master password.

Weird. The website also says (emphasis added):

Includes automatic file-splitting (e.g. OneDrive's 25 meg file size limit) and doesn't store passwords in plain text. For additional security, a master password can be set.

The portable freeware site says that but I was talking on the main homepage for the program itself.

@hamradio: Oh, I read your initial post again. Properly this time. I see what you want - for the Find section to cover the whole width (and to hide the entire Replace section).

That's... interesting. I like it. I'll put that on the todo list instead.

Thanks. Glad you figured out what I was getting at. :)

I'm sure you know, but just in case - you can write in the regex section and completely ignore the 'WildGem syntax' Find section if you wish.

Yes, as for the find section I was using the 'WildGem syntax' to help get me the regex I want.

Idea: What about a way to disable/hide replace and size the find and the textarea accordingly if all you want to do is build regex in your program for use elsewhere?

Nooooo, the special non-regex syntax is the best bit! ;)  Seriously, would you personally find that useful? If so, I'll put it on the todo list!

I had that idea as a way to help with writing .net regex for use in my own .net programs that I want to validate data in textboxes without having to use the special textbox to validate data since I am not that good at regex as I once was.

Ex. Phone and/or other type of fields...

So up to you as it doesn't have to be in there was merely an idea.

I use KeePass on windows, but for my tablet and phone I use 1Password. My non cellular tablet can open the 1Password database and can modify it without being connected to the internet and still sync.  At least it has for me. :)

Bug #1:...
I will fix the bug a little later as I am still working on getting accustomed to the computer chair again.

1. CRITICAL:...
1. Mine was never meant to take over normal file associations on the computer even while just running.  I remember a program that could do what you want...but I cannot find the link right off in my bookmarks.

4. Minor: Should have AUTO...
2. Perhaps at some point.

Hi hamradio.

Long time donationcoder reader. Somehow missed your app. I have been looking for something similar for AGES.

I am having a lot of problems even just settings thing up.

On launch of PortableExtensionWarlock.exe

I get the following error:

---------------------------
Error!
---------------------------
Error while loading Portable Extension Warlock data.

Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

I click OK and go into the app.

i try to add an entry and get this error

---------------------------

---------------------------
Index and length must refer to a location within the string.

Parameter name: length
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

Please help! I really, really want to get PEW working :(

I will look into the error when I get feeling better which I hope is soon. I have had a bad ear infection + strep.

Note: Checkup on me in a couple days if I haven't posted an update.

N.A.N.Y. 2015 / Re: NANY 2015 RELEASE: File Downloader
« Last post by hamradio on January 29, 2015, 06:35 PM »
Command Line:
1. /f=filepathandname - Save file location and name.
2. /u=downloadlocation - http or https url of download.
3. /ec - Exits when complete.
3. /ow - This will overwrite a file without confirmation if download is started from command line so use at *YOUR OWN RISK*. (New in 1.0.2 build 1)

/ow  --  That sounds like a painful switch...which I suppose it could be given what it does!   :D

(I'm guessing you want that commandline switch to be No. 4 instead of the second No. 3?)

Thanks list count fixed.  Yep that switch could be painful so not only does it mean overwrite but it could also be a reminder to use it carefully.

Updated with a new command line argument see first post for information. :)

Would a stop audio file action where you could add a wait # of seconds before the stop action to tell it how many seconds it should play for work?...or a couple vars with the play file action that allows you to specify start and end time of the play based on how long the sound is.

Good idea.  However, there won't be a separate "seconds to wait" option for the Audio action since you can already insert a wait using the Wait/delay action.

Thats the one I was talking about anyway. :)
275
And it would be very convenient to be able to stop any sound-clip playing, especially if you either have it wait to finish playing, or have selected a very long sound-clip.

Yes, a playing sound can be stopped.  So, the only problem here is "how" do you stop it?  Via hotkey?  A button on the main form?  I'm not sure I'm happy with either.  I need to think about this some more.
