Hehehe! I have that same attraction there.

I'm still looking for the Necronomicon - giant, evil Gods...who wouldn't want to see that?

 :P

You just lost 6 sanity points for even mentioning that book~! :P

I once played a CoC session where we were all on Gilligan's Island. I played Ginger. About 40 minutes in, Mrs. Howell lost her last sanity point and killed Giligan, the Skipper, Mr. Howell and Mary Ann. The professor took her out. :p

My ferocious pit bull

Live a day in your own shoes...they are far comfier than the other persons!

Before you pick a fight with someone, walk a mile in their shoes. Then, no matter how you feel, you will be a mile away. And you will have their shoes. :p

The Word and Excel UI for spitting tables/cells sucks. I use VBA to do it.  >:(

All Office products support VBA macros. You can do it that way.

I have lots of books. Most of them have a face on the dust jacket. That is all I need.

lol...InfoSelect. I used it when it was a memory-resident program called Tornado Notes and dropped it when it got to IS 4. Too much feature bloat for too high of a price.

When I launch Silvernote, I get an error. The program works fine after I dismiss it. Re-installing the program doesn't get rid of the error.

I am with NigelH. I have owned an Aeropress for years. It makes a better cup of coffee than a Keurig machine and a better cup of espresso than a $2k commercial espresso machine.

I have a Logitech G-19 keyboard. All of the keys are caked with dust on the sides and between them. I don't know how to clean it and looking at it disgusts me. What is the best way to handle this?

General Software Discussion / Re: Are you going to wait for Windows 9?
« Last post by robinsiebler on November 23, 2012, 03:56 PM »
TBH, I have not looked at a single review for Win 8, nor do I intend to switch to it for personal use. I am quite content with Win 7 and see no reason to upgrade. The company I work for has no intention of switching to Win 8 either, aside for having a few PCs in SQA for testing purposes.

Thanks, rjbull! I have looked at the other suggestions, but I have not tried any of them yet. I was waiting to see how many fish I could catch. Since yours is the first to meet my optional requirement, I shall give it a go first! ;D

Ok, I tried HanDBase. It definitely has bug! For example, once I create database and save records when I try to edit one I get a form that has no buttons! I can't save any changes. I've sent their tech support about 5 bug reports so far. I hope these issues are resolved because so far, the program seems to be exactly what I was looking for.

Ok, the HanDbase demo is quite buggy, but their technical support is very responsive and I was able to do everything I wanted to do with this program, so I am going to buy it. :)

I am playing an MMO called Guild Wars 2 and I have a lot of friends there. The game only allows me a single text line to describe a person an all of their chars and the company deletes this entry every time there is an update, so I need to find an external solution.  Here are my requirements:

I need the following text fields:

Account Name
Character Name (5 or more characters per account)
Character Description - Needs to be able to handle at least 3 -4 paragraphs of text.

I need to be able to sort on the first two fields, and I need to be able to search. I don't need any more features at this point. I want something small (under 20 MB) and if possible something with an iPad or web option as well.

Any suggestions?

I've used Readerware for years and have been happy with it. I requested several times that they come up with a version for games, but that never happened, so I use Game Collector(z).

Cherrytree comes with several different color schemes and you can create/import others. Here is the scheme I am using (the red on black you see is my WindowBlinds theme, not the program).

I use Pinnacle Studio and I am quite happy with it.
