I followed your link and signed up for an account but could never get signed in. I had the DuckDuckGo extension installed but it would never accept my one-time passphrase and just kept reloading the login page. It was probably my ad-blocker (Brave Shields) interfering with things, but I didn't care enough about it to pursue it further.

First (ALL) I'd heard of it was a splash screen that came up when I opened the browser (brave).  Sounded potentially interesting but the means of publicising it, and the fact that this was the only time I'd heard of it made me cautious

+1 - And I'd go further and say that unless a platform generates some benefit to me then I won't subscribe regardless of what they might be offering.  Its unfortunate but most are little more than honeypots for the collection and monetisation of personal data.  That said, I've sucumbed to facebook (meh...) simply because so much info is distributed via that platform only , and not having access means being unaware of happenings in local sporting or social groups, or relevant businesses. 

Risk can only be judged by the individual, but I've pretty much come to the conclusion that there is already so much of my (our?) personal info out there in various places (banks, government, medical, insurance, telco's, businesses, forums, apps, etc) that regardless of what I (or you) might do the horse has pretty much bolted on any chance of guaranteeing security of our personal info and/or anonymity.

pretty sure you're not going to find some sort of 'rotating multi plug' but, how about something like a multi monitor stand?

Plenty of options around that cater for a laptop and an external monitor so it shouldn't be hard to find something like this that works for 2 laptops...

Your new titles show no continuity or relevance to the original title and make people think there's a new thread

If you want/need to continue a discussion, by all means do so, but leave the title intact so people can follow if they're interested (ie people that are interested won't necessarily recognise your new title as a continuation of an existing thread, and those that aren't will waste time reading irrelevant posts)

could be I've missed something here but I'm wondering why a simple tab grouping option wouldn't be a better(?) option?

FWIW I have a similar use case but I use the Bulk URL Opener (https://chrome.googl...fdbbelbdbhhocjmhenep) xtn in Chrome.  Some require a login, but once they;ve been opened once I don't need to log in again during the day (should I revisit a site).

There are also xtn's that unload inactive pages or collapse multiple tabs to a single tab or 'menu' (saves RAM).

YMMV but why add another app when the functionality is built into the browser

What clues? I mean, there are cues from where you place the letters, but no clues about the final word, are there? Or did I just miss something?

that's what I was referring to.  I usually get as many vowels in play as possible up front (that's 2 attempts), then its a case of working out what words I can see from the remaining letters and any confirmed vowels.  Sometimes I throw in a word I know is wrong just to rule out some letters, depends how stuck I am (eg 1 known vowel in an unknown position doesn't give you much to work with...)

Speaking of Firefox, I just wasted 90 minutes because they remotely disabled my speed dial.  I swear browsers waste more time just making decisions for you than anything other than Windows.  It drives me nuts.  If only there was a standardized dial so we could select all in one browser and paste into another it would be so cool.  But it has the advantage of keeping me from doing something productive I suppose.   8)

what you want seems to be something like HTTrack, though that will only give you a local copy of the website.

FWIW I'd hazard a guess that the site is structured this way to prevent users from doing what you seem to want (for obvious reasons...)

The size reported in pending updates is the approx. download size, when it's downloading it shows the installation size as well as the amount that it's downloading, (which will be equivalent to the pre-update size reported), see below for an example:

I guess there could be a reason for that but I can't see it.  I suppose it's in keeping with the mindset that since everyone now has access to endless low cost hi-speed internet it doesn't matter cos no one needs to pay attention to those numbers...

yep get all that, but I'm not altogether sure thats the issue here

when I go to the updates page on playstore, it lists all the apps that have updates pending AND a 'size' for each one (one I did last nite was 60Mb)

However, when you 'update' you get the usual download graphic with a progress bar, in this case it was n% of 190Mb

Now it's safe to say that its some time since I went to school and a lot of things have changed a lot, but I'm pretty sure that no matter how you cut it 60 will never equal 190

Could be they're reporting different things, but that would just be misleading and something I'm sure google can't be accused of...

anyone know what the go is with playstore download sizes?

I'm finding that the listed update sizes do not correspond to the actual download sizes (assuming I can believe those values are correct as well...)

Typically I'm finding that the actual download size is typically 2 or 3 times what's shown before you press the update button

Could be I'm just old and cranky, but I manage my data use pretty carefully (its expensive!) and this seems like a pretty gross misrepresentation
