It takes about 2 seconds on my machine to make the calendar pop up after I click. Is there a way to decrease the delay the calendar is shown, by configuration or such?  Or is it just the time the calendar dates need to be calculated?

If there's time: the feature "SpecialFx > Border Around Image > Simple Border Around Image - Inside CTRL+ B" still doesn't follow the color settings in the options; the border is always black.

And a hot key for the "Simple Border Around Image - Outside" would be nice.

In previous versions the T-clock Timers had an option to display the remaining time of a timer next to the clock.
The latest (beta8) x64 version has the timer watch window but a window has to be opened a first and this information isn't always visible.

Would it be possible to display the remaining time so that it's always visible? Like beneath the clock or as a transparent layer somewhere on the screen?

Found a small bug:
when the Screenshot Panel is hidden, in some cases (e.g. freshly taken screenshots) can't be deleted.
Sometimes just unhiding and hiding again is enough to make the deleting work.

When I have multiple files in a directory sometimes that "Confirm multiple file deletion"-question comes up (but doesn't delete whatever option I choose), in other cases I don't even get this question

Hm, the (absent) effect above is for CTRL-B and "Simple Border around image - inside".
When I choose the command below ("Simple Border around image - outside (resize)"), the color from the dialog is taken, but still not the style (which in fact wouldn't make sense, therefore my confusion)

In the options under "Special effects options" there's a "Quick Borders" setting which seem to control what a border looks like when you hit CTRL-B.
But only the settings for the border width seem to have an effect, not color or style. I am trying to set a border in a different color than black, how can I do that?

The fact that the CTRL-B is named with a certain style in the menu ("Simple Border around image - inside") makes me wonder if I am looking in the right place for the quick border feature.
How can I invoke a border with the settings I made in the "'Quick Borders" preferences section?

Thanks for investigating.

Maybe this could work if antialiasing is optionally applied when an object is inserted?
That would mean that this object gets rendered in the moment of inserting. With that beeing an option in the clipart pane one could leave the main antialiasing options in the preferences turned off and decide from case to case if AA should be applied. And for users who don't need that this extra option could constantly keep turned off and the main AA options are on.

No idea if that makes sense from a programmer's view I'm just brainstorming.

Under "Settings" > "Drawing Objects Options" there are those Antialiasing Object Options which smooth objects to avoid harsh edges.

There's often the case you want to explain people with a screenshot how to do things so there may be cursors involved and some other objects.

Problem is: All objects look better when Antialiasing is turned on except for the cursors which look unnatural and not like on screen; they look better with AA turned off:

 

But there's only a global setting so I either have blurry cursors or hard edges on other objects. Is there a way to enable/disable AA for single objects?

When I try to delete all of my captures, some of them are deleted and then I get the following error:

Access violation at address 004CD1D4 in module 'ScreenshotCaptor.exe'. Read of address 00000004.

SSC doesn't crash and so I can use the same command to delete the next couple of files. I had about 20 images in that directory and got the access violation three times:

Brilliant find, when I recorded the video that setting was on 72 dpi.
A 96 dpi setting seems to do the trick

Hi mouser,

on my first PC I couldn't reproduce this although I saw this for years.
But on my second PC the effect still exists.

I made a video so that you can see what I mean:
1. I am creating a screenshot, SCC copies it to the clipboard automatically
2. Paste it in WordPad --> ugly resized
3. Paste it in Paint.NET, crop it there and copy it to the clipboard
4. Paste it in WordPad --> correctly resized

Small addition to the clipboard scaling problem (forgot to mention that):
When I take the route over Paint.NET to avoid unwanted scaling of pasted images, in SSC I choose "Edit" > "Copy Image/Object to clipboard", switch to Paint.NET and paste it there. It is pasted  as a selected object so I can directly choose "Crop" to set the image dimensions to the object dimensions. Then I hit CTRL-A to select the whole image and copy it to the clipboard. Then it is pasted with the right dimensions and without distortion.

So it seems in SSC would be an additional step required to make the object boundaries match the image boundaries to make all copied images paste without distortion. Some target applications seem to do that for themselves (like Photoshop) but when you test with Wordpad you can see what I mean.

In TClock 2010 beta I just tried to assign the mouse click options to various actions.
What I wanted to have is Left-click > Calendar (this one works) and Middle-click > TClock Properties.

This last one doesn't work. Known issue?

thanks for pointing me to this thread via email.
I just installed TClock 2010 on my Win7x64 and it works perfectly (even the secret hidden it-which-must-not-be-named feature).

Just one thing, compared to your TClock x64 1.01 which I used up to today:
when I use the same font settings for the Clock text the new text is way to bold even when bold is not selected (when it is, it goes ultra-creamy-bold).

This is what v1.0.1 displays with Verdana, 9pt, not bold:

And this is the same setting with v2010:

Actually it looks like ClearType was enabled but it's not.
Is there a way to make the text brilliant sharp like it used to be (please )?

Another two additions:
• in the newest version the keyboard-shortcut seems to be completely without function.

• To use screenshots I made with Screenshot Captor I usually copy the screenshot to the clipboard, then paste it into Paint.NET (http://www.getpaint.net/). Then, in Paint.NET I again copy it into the clipboard and now I am able to paste it into every application that supports embedded images (like Office, RTF, HTML-Mails etc). I make the detour with Paint.NET because I found that this app reliably copies a format into the clipboard that seems to be widely compatible and doesn't resize the image in an ugly way when pasted. Maybe you could take a look what this app does and check against SSC.

One thing:
I am a bit confused how to control what SSC copies to the clipboard. I found that the Shortcut CTRL+C works in a different way than using the menu item "Copy image/object to clipboard (CTRL+C)". Shouldn't they do the same?

Using the menu item created two kinds of bitmaps: "Device Independent Bitmap" and just "Bitmap" while CTRL+C creates just a "packet". To paste an image into e.g. an HTML mail I have to always use the menu.

And, additionally, it would be nice if we could set up, what and what not to copy to the clipboard. When both kinds of the above mentioned bitmaps are in the clipboard there's a default action when pasting and that's normally the Device Independent Bitmap, which resizes ugly in HTML mails or RTF pages. So there's always the need to first select which one to copy and choose just "Bitmap".
