Announce Your Software/Service/Product / Re: BBCeditor 1.0.30
« Last post by Curt on March 30, 2012, 12:46 PM »
I am one of those people who really should use BBCeditor before posting..., but a couple of 'items' have so far kept me from doing so.

1) I cannot see any difference in your program between "Use inline mode" or not, when I want to insert a photo. So my request is for an option to insert picture in the same way we do here at DC: "[(attachimg=#)]" only, instead of right away asking me to navigate to the file. It will make the program more useful here at DonationCoder's forum; "[(img]C:\FotoTemp\Curt'sPicture.jpg[/img)]" is not helpful here.

2) The other thing is that I really would like your program to both auto-save and auto-close-to-tray  / minimize when I hit Escape, please. Preferably compared with a hotkey to open with the same file already open in the same position.

Doable?

Can you simply copy these options:

Maybe you want an easy download-all-pictures-on-this-page application?

O&O's prices are reasonable. But one must remember that the company has taken the same route as Paragon (and many others), meaning that every year will bring a major upgrade, making it $19 ($29) PER YEAR, if you want to stay updated.

Living Room / how to find the oldest (=original) file on the Internet?
« Last post by Curt on March 25, 2012, 11:20 AM »
Many times I have wondered how on earth law enforcements etcetera can manage to prove originality of files on the Internet. Not because I have any special interest in the official side of the subject, but (among other reasons) because I have a picture that I am convinced is a forgery - and I don't know how to find the OLDEST version on the 'net, to prove my suspicion right. I don't think it is enough to have a "wayback" version.

Furthermore I think the subject itself is very important. Google (and the other search providers as well) will always offer to order search results > Newest or > Most Popular, etcetera, but never in accordance with OLDEST / ORIGINAL, , so we are always left with the maybe_re-edited version; the maybe_a_lie! Perhaps pro' searchers can make a search engine order the search results the trustworthy way, but I can't. Can you? Is Google even able to search for the oldest file?

Where can I get "Send to desktop as shortcut" from?

Right-click file > in context menu go to Send to... > click Send To Desktop As Shortcut, and voila! a shortcut was made on the desktop. I imagined it was from Send To Toys, but it wasn't, and then I simply cannot remember from where I got it. Do 'you' know where I can get this small but very useful feature for my Windows 7, please?

(..) One of my favourite programs is Bulk Image Downloader [BID] which usually integrates with Firefox. But trying to make it work with Waterfox has made me realize some problems: (...) As an example, the named "BID" has an extension for Firefox, but the extension cannot find the mother-program, probably because they are localized in two different directories. (...)

BID FireFox Extension has been updated and now supports both 32 and 64 bit versions of FireFox. Antibody is a great little company; he was apparently too busy to answer my mail, but my request was fulfilled within a week!

I have no more problems regarding 32 versus 64 bit,   that I know of
...except that I had to give up the free version of Revo Uninstaller, because it will only list the 32-bit programs. So Revo Pro was released from prison, and installed.

disktrix UltimateDefrag version 4 Release Candidate coming up in a week:

We're currently on the home stretch in the development of Version 4 of UltimateDefrag and we expect to have a release candidate ready by 1 April.

http://www.disktrix....om/dt_newsletter.htm

While you can still select programs you wish to accelerate by folder and filename, UltimateDefrag 4 will recognize all programs and applications you have installed on your PC. You can select which ones you want to accelerate by simply placing a checkmark next to them. Business applications, games, utilities - you name it. Just select them with your mouse and when you run your next defrag, UltimateDefrag 4 will move the application to the fastest performing regions of you hard drive. The result - accelerated loading of the application and it's associated files. The performance increase can really be felt in games and simulations where the hard drive is constantly reading data files from the hard drive during gameplay.

But the price will no longer just be "$9.95"...

I have plenty Paragon licenses including WinPE, but have not (yet) been contacted by Paragon - maybe they are telling us  s l o w l y , so not all begin downloading 250MB at the same time. But your post makes me wonder what will happen to especially my 'Online WinPE Builder Service'.

Edited:
Now I too have received the alert from Paragon.

arghh, this is why I said I wanted to restore a list of the programs that I had on my previous 32-bit system, Vista, before overwriting it with 64-bit W7. Now I need that list; I really should have fought harder to get it. I know I have been using DialogMove at some point in time, but I am not all certain I was using it when my Vista died on me, because I so feel certain that the program I was using that day, would make the mouse pointer move to the button, not the button to the pointer, AND that it would work on "Open..." and "Save as..."-boxes as well. Was I merely dreaming?

What else do we know that will  move the pointer to the button,
or the button to the pointer?

Having moved to 64-bit Win 7, DialogMove doesn't work for me any more!  :(

We get free upgrades to 200mbps soon!
-Stephen66515 (March 20, 2012, 03:12 PM)

-nice.

When I asked (complained to) my ISP support worker about my 25MBps speed, he said that I could have much faster speed if I was ready to pay. The "problem" is that they don't advertize with more than 25, now 50 MBps, so I guess that prices for genuine high speed connections also are genuine high... I didn't ask.

So, you have 100, going 200, but at what price? It is of course difficult to compare apples and oranges, and ISP vs ISP: My contract is including free: 40 channels television, 3 mio music tracks, IP telephone, webmail, 5GB web backup, cinema, etcetera..., but speed is extra ;-) As of now I pay $80 per month.

 :tellme:

Edited:
I just re-checked their homepage and saw that they also offer 100/10 MBps (down/up) speed. They don't tell that in their adverts; they end at 50 MBps. My extra price for 100 MBps would be $37 per month.

About Subtitle Edit Online

SE Online is written Html 5 - html/css/javascript
Yo!

My name is Nikolaj Lynge Olsson and I was born the 15th February 1973 in Denmark.

I live near Copenhagen with my wife Jeanette, and our daughters Maja and Ida.

I've been working as a software developer since 1994 (DB2/Cobol/Lotus Notes/Delphi/Visual Basic/MS SQL/.NET/MVC/JQuery).

   My interests:

Programming
Having the same hobby as ones work seems weird to some - and maybe it is. But I just can't help it: I just love programming ;)

Fishing
I like fishing a lot, but seems to lack the time. The beautiful lakes with trouts in Sweden or trolling salmon from Simrishamn are good stuff:)
