I inadvertently uploaded a zip for ReRun that included an extra exe file.  I have corrected that on the site.  The current version is 2.5.0.0.

I think the first change I will make will be to create a quick and dirty semi-installer just to copy the 32 bit or 64 bit embedded code to the file ReRun.exe in the current folder, depending on the "bitness" of the user's OS.  Just so the user doesn't have to do it by hand.

So instead of the 2 exes the next upload will likely have one file ReRunSetup.exe or something similar. It will likely just use the AHK install command.  That should be the simplest way.

Edit:  Now the zip file includes a Readme.txt and one exe as described.  Just run ReRunSetup.exe in an empty folder.  It will copy either the 32 bit or 64 bit version of ReRun to ReRun.exe in that folder.  Note that it is set to not overwrite existing files.  To update a folder where ReRun.exe already lives, make sure you have quit ReRun.exe from the tray if running, then delete it, before running ReRunSetup.

Note that the Donate and Visit Hotkey Page commands now work, even if they are a bit slow to react.  The check for updates I may just remove as the maintenance is klunky.

My current domain is http://www.milesaheadsoftware.org

It is a paid domain and I have the web hosting paid up for 3 months in advance.  I hope this will tend to stabilize availability of my freeware. 

Unfortunately there are too many small utilities with donate commands and readme files to update them all.  But most users do not use donate commands anyway(including myself, unless I'm really enthusiastic about a particular program) so it would be a lot of effort to not much purpose. 

For generous souls there is a donate button on the page.  It's a simple alphabetic table of zip files.  The note at the top says all that needs to be said as far as licensing etc..

Specific usage info for each utility should be in the Readme.txt included in the zip file or in the About command.  Some may also have an .hjt file for use with TreePad Lite that pops up for an F1 press.

A few include source code but most not.  Autoit3 in particular uses "standard include" files for most everything which makes distributing the entire source impractical.  But some of the ahk utilities have source.

As noted on the page if you get an AV saying there's something bad in one of the programs please try several others.  Many of the ahk utilities use a "keyboard hook" so that the program can tell the difference between keys pressed on the physical keyboard and those sent via software etc.. This enables it to resend the same sequence without confusing itself.

I hope some of them are fun to use.

They replied there was no way to upgrade to a 4-pack, but they did offer me a special price on three more licenses. Unfortunately that would still make the total price more than double what I could have bought the 4-pack for at the black friday deal if I had gotten that instead (plus upgrading four individual licenses when v7 comes around will cost much more then upgrading a 4-pack).

I guess I was just unlucky buying the wrong thing.

Sorry to hear that.  I have to admit I like the realist developer who sells you a program and says "I expect you to use it on all the machines you own personally.  You are licensed to do so."  Just makes things neater.

Thank you.  I suspected it was this WiFi.  They may be blocking other dns so that their filters aren't bypassed.  Everyone is so paranoid about copyright this and that. 

Seems like it's slowly coming into shape.  I'll have to find a WiFi that doesn't block ftp uploads.  It's a pain using those grids to upload via the web clicking on each file individually.  Ugh.

It seems the name servers for hawkhost are blocked on this WiFi.  But the really weird thing is even typing in the ip address in the address bar gets me a 404 error.  Pretty weird.

I see.  Still, they hold the license keys.  Perhaps if you related why you would reconsider if you had the chance they might swap you the upgrade.  After all, you are still going to spend about the same amount of $$$.  It's the same cash flow for them.

Especially if you are a long time license holder they might feel in a generous mood.

Seems like they have "workstation" where Pro would be.  It's odd.  I would have thought they would upgrade on a tier basis.  Have you tried sending a note?  Right now with the new release they may want good word of mouth.  They might upgrade you if you explain why you feel vexed at the upgrade.  Might be worth a shot.

Edit: looking at the comparison chart the only difference I see from standard to workstation is that standard has support limited to one year.

I'm into these guys for 3 months at this point.  I hope it works out.  They sent me an email with temp url etc that gets a 404.  I hope it's not a harbinger of doom.  My first support ticket is already on the way. 

I have to scout around and find a free WiFi that doesn't block ftp for when I upload.  Once the bugs are ironed out maybe I'll do one of those boilerplate template web designers.  I tried one out that actually didn't look too bad for $50.  The main gripe I have is that most of the ones I looked at convert your text to an image.  Paragraphs don't flow.  Kind of defeats the purpose of using a markup language.

We'll see how it goes.

I went with HH.  I found a coupon code online that sliced 25% off.  I got the basic account for about $3/month.  3 GB is more than enough.  When I was on Jaguar I think I used less than 1/4 GB for all my files. 

I need to wait for stuff to propagate.  The WiFi here seems to intermittently block ftp upload but I should be able to get the stuff up there eventually.

OK so I bought a domain name.  I had a good reliable Web Hosting on JaguarPC but instead of continuing to discount their prices they seem to be headed upward.  I don't really want to spend $9+/mo just to give away software.  But I want a commercial account to ensure I have control.

Anyone know of Web Hosting for $4 or $5 a month?  I don't need the shopping cart and all the rest.  Just unlimited download bandwidth, an included email account for support, and the ability to post a donate button. I don't see a need for more than 3 pages and I can squeeze it all into a one page list if necessary.  I guess the main idea is I don't want to kill myself with bells, whistles and wallpaper just to give stuff away.  I'll probably use a list generator with short descriptions for each utility.

An outfit known for up time and no shenanigans would be great.

Speaking of using air for cleaning I must have spent a dozen hours online trying to find a mechanical way of doing it.  The perfect solution for me would have been a tiny bellows with a pistol grip so it could be operated with one hand.  Of course as soon as I search on the term "bellows" all I find are stupid decorative bellows like you hang on a fireplace grate.

I ended up getting a cheap plastic bicycle pump type thing about 6" long from China.  It was great for blowing dust off the keyboard.  The main flaw was the two handed operation.

This seems to be an area where nobody wants to produce a mechanical solution since if made well repeat sales are unlikely.  I can see requiring "clean air" if you are blowing into open sockets.  But for just blowing the dust out of the box or off the keys it seems a bit pricey.

I set mine to never check for updates.  I just looked by pressing Winkey Q and typing Updates in settings.  It told me I last checked for updates on 12/10/2013.

One thing I noticed.  Getting off that screen is not very intuitive.  After fumbling around Alt Tab did the trick.  I'm not sure if it's because I have Classic Shell installed.

I tried reading through updates in case I needed any and selecting individual ones to install.  I found myself wasting half a day just on that.  So I turned it off altogether.  I can't be doing that every Tuesday.

What struck me is the "love it or hate it" nature of them.  As noted by one of the reviewers.  Looking at the oicture I was going to joke it makes a perfect postcard until I saw that's what it was.  For hard core tourists it might be cool once enhanced and debugged.

Looks like it might outweigh my Toshiba Laptop though.

By the way if you have an idea for a more natural way of using it I would be interested.  I'm torn between the detection being automatic as it is now, since it is supposed to be to recover from accidental closure of a program, and the less resource intensive method of the user hotkeying the program with the focus into what would be in effect, a launch bar.

I took a look at the way Skrommel coded a similar program and I could see the difficulty involved in trying to get the info as the program is closing, say by clicking on the 'x'.  That's undoubtedly why he hid the window and set a timer to kill it if not overridden in 60 seconds.

The hotkey to add to a launchbar would be less resource intensive but would also lose the "accidental recovery" aspect.  Or perhaps it should be 2 modes and the user can select to use one or both.

I'm open to ideas.  What I can do is fairly limited.  But a different perspective is often enlightening.
