Mouser: Screenshot captor has a menu item that should take you to video tutorials, and the online documentation also has this link. But the link is currently 404.

Thanks for the reminder -- I really need to bring that page of videos back up.
The quote thing is a javascript script.. I wonder if it is hitting an error of some sort. Maybe some of you browser pros can see if you spot a javascript error in the console next time in malfunctions?

Not possible using just CHS.  But you could write an external script (perl, python?) to do the replacement and then configuring CHS to call that script when you wanted.

Yeah, I thought it was worth an experiment to set up a patreon account just to see what all the fuss is about.

Screenshot Captor / Re: Slow capture
« Last post by mouser on April 22, 2018, 01:07 PM »
There are a couple of things that can slow down capture:

1. Capturing firefox (or another browser) with the option to try to grab url (you can disable this option).
2. Capturing ACTIUVE window with sc set to try to grab transparency (if you are doing ctrl+prtscr to grab entire workspace then that's not that).
3. If SC has been inactive for a long time -- and this MAY interact with having hundreds of screenshots in your screenshot folder.  You can try to address this by using the MoveTo command to file away older screenshots, OR go to Startup Options and choose the "Stay in Memory longer" option.

The key thing to help you test is to see if only the first screenshot after a while is slow.. and if you do say 10 screenshots soon after that they are fast.  If that happens then you know the problem is related to SC needing to load stuff into memory after it has been unloaded.

I think you did the smart thing in terms of whipping up a quick prototype.  I think that is almost always the best first step.
So now that you've seen your prototype, is there enough reason to spend time making a more robust version?
2389
Yeah, it's not something I'm planning on adding to my apps.
However, another option you could use would be a custom script to monitor and automatically close certain window dialogs that are shown -- so if the current user every tried to open the options dialog it would be immediately closed.
That could be a coding snack that someone could write.

One of my favorite things about this site is people working together and supporting each other's projects... This is a really nice example of that.
And no words can describe the difference that the mascot Cody that Nick created, has made on the spirit of this site.

Even so, I'd still like the option to disable auto-hide, so that it is always visible.
You should find such an option on the "Appearances" tab with your choice for "Dock mode".

Is the friends of DC page only for those pages hosted on the DC servers?

No, not necessarily.  It's basically for folks who are long time/active dc community members, who are primarily free-for-home-use/donationware coders, and share their software development news on our site.  Essentially, coders who we are recommending and who hang out here.

« Last post by mouser on April 17, 2018, 04:12 AM »
I really don't understand: How to spy someone with this software when program window is always shown???
This program is not for spying on people, that is why there is no option to hide the tray icon.  This program is for keeping track of your own activities.

If it's showing in the taskbar even when it is minimized, that is a bug -- I will look into it.
I'm just trying to make sure I am understanding you because when you keep saying the "window is shown" I need to make sure you don't mean the actual window but rather just the taskbar button.
Anyone else have this issue? What version of windows are you using?
Do you have this same problem with my other apps, like Screenshot Captor?
