unfortunately it has a darker patch of sky nearer the join.
Interesting.. I hadn't noticed that.

The problem was that that photo resulted from the join of 8 photos, and the two in the middle got darker than the other 6... Would there by any reason for that? (other than that fact that i totaly lack photographic skills? :) )

You're almost right, cemole.
The 2 differences between the installed folder and the mycustom folder are that the aliases under installed are read-only, and can be changed with each update of farr.
So, if you move an alias from installed to mycustom, it won't be updated on farr update, and you'll be able to change stuff.

Also note that currently, the nircmd alias can't be updated throught the DCupdater, but the core aliases can be changed in a farr update.

Yes, i tried the program after i posted that :)

It's actually pretty good, but it wouldn't work properly with XYplorer, and only shows thumbnails when the program is minimized, in a similar way as the apple dock does.

i won't exist until my online inane ranting is recognised by at least 3 complete and utter strangers.
Well... I'd say there are way more than 3 persons here at DC that recognize your value :)
(i'm one of them :) )

Thanks f0dder!

Yeah, you're right, i'm missing some homework since this is the kind of stuff i learn at school ;)

BTW.. I had no idea MMX was an instruction set! I thought it was only a processor family designation. (for more info, refer to wikipedia)

I'm not sure about the other questions, so i'd better not say anything ;)

2: the USB is an electric port. Not sure what you mean about static vs dynamic. (here's more information).

3: RAM stands for "random access memory". It is used by the operating system to store the runtime data of the programs. That means it stores the code, data and [something else i can't remember] of the running programs. It's also way faster than the hard disk.

After reviewing the previous posts and giving some more thought to this, i'd say "no" too.
Reasons:

1 - I had no idea there were decent freeware alternatives (wink is pretty good, but it can't do movies, only "faster slideshows")
2 - I think that your (mouser) work is more needed in other stuff :)
3 - If you did a simple version of a screencasting app, i can see people starting to ask for more features and improvements that soon would overlap with other more developed apps and would only make you lose time playing catch up

:) sorry f0dder, probably "natively" shouldn't be in my post.
What i meant was what darwin said in his post. thanks

If it'd be as good as screenshotcaptor, i'd say "YEEEEEES!!!".

Still, if it'd be aimed at a "quick and dirty" recording with all the cool features of SC (like copy path to clipboard :D), i'd say "YEEEES!!!" (notice there are 2 'E's less :P)

@urlwolf: Not quite. From what i understand, parallels allows you to run a windows program natively on OSX, on the same desktop. That's a major difference from a virtual machine, which isn't nearly as practical.

Here's a similar example with windows and linux. Too bad i wasn't able to configure it decently :(

Thanks a lot mitzevo!
Then i think i should also have a look at X2 :)
2365
Great minireview, mitzevo!!

A way to improve it:
Here go my favourite features in XY. Could you compare them to X2?

  • colour extensions: different extensions get different colours
  • grid look: the list can be configured in a zebra-like grid so that it's easier to see all the columns of an item
  • autosize columns: when you move from one folder to another, all the coluns are resized so that their contents fit the screen
  • custumizable keyboard shortcuts - self explanatory :P
I also love the fact that ctrl-p copies the path of the selected file to the clipboard

Find And Run Robot / Re: Skin
« Last post by jgpaiva on August 12, 2007, 10:39 AM »
Are there no skins with the FRR icon ?
Are you running the latest beta? IIRC, the icon was removed not much time ago because it'd look very bad in some skins

Is there a feature to highlight search terms results ?
What do you mean? A way to have specific results (like firefox, for example) have a different colour?

When you press enter, farr goes away but the file isn't launched?

Have you had any older farr version? Did it work with that version?
What's the version you have now?

disclaimer: i love java

were i to find an IDE that was not by Microsoft and not written in Java
Pay attention to something: if you're going to work at a big company, you'll have to use the IDE they give you, which probably will be visual studio or eclipse. Thus, you're better off learning it before you start working. If you don't like it, it's yet one more reason to learn it before starting to work with it.

If you don't like java, i'd definitelly go for .net.

How about if you press enter twice?

I tried Hugin and i was very surprised.
It's pretty good, i had never tried this kind of software and thought this kind of stuff was hard to do, but i was able to come up with something pretty decent!

Here's a panorama photo of the landscape out of the window of the hotel where i'm staying right now:

Gothic: my reason for not even considering going Mac is just that. Not with closed-source OS/ free software, but with the way they handle hardware. I don't like the idea of having to use only apple's hardware/software.
Also, the lack of choice is a problem. ("you get what we give you and there's nothing else")

For me, the perfect world would be windows + linux in something like parallels, so that i could take the best of both worlds.

You're right; Ctrl+Tab is the same; one more feature I didn't know of!
Thanks a lot, hamradio!
You'd be surprised with how many programs work with ctrl+tab. In any default windows control (like display properties, or the "system" item under control panel), that cycles through the tabs ;)

In general, any tabbed program supports ctrl+tab ;)

Sure is, it was supposed to work like that, thanks for remembering me :)

I've just uploaded a new version ;)

[edit] Also, if you have DCupdater installed, GridMove comes with a "dcupdate" file! Just double-click it to check for updates :) [/edit]
