Screenshot Captor / Re: Problem using Screenshot Captor for games
« Last post by jgpaiva on September 15, 2007, 03:00 PM »
Yes, JVR, there's no way for SC to capture those images.
You're better off with using the program's own screenshot system.
Usually, there's a key configurable through the options menu for grabbing screenshots.

 >:( >:( I hate how all these designers are now going for that stupid idea of placing buttons/menu items in the caption of the windows!!
It makes no sense, doesn't respect the windows standard UI, and now that the screens are getting bigger, they decide they should save some screen space? bah!!
[/rant]

Sorry for that, but i hate that idea, it's highly incompatible with gridmove...  :(

I think i'm with mouser, let's have the minimum amount of hassle for the genuine members.
Having a limit of 5 posts would be pretty decent, because the mods would delete those posts before the spammer even got to the 3rd spammy post.

As for big signatures, i'm starting to feel guity  :-[

Skrommel's Software / Re: .ini files help?
« Last post by jgpaiva on September 12, 2007, 06:50 PM »
Hi dan. Welcome to DC!

The .ini files that are created store the settings of each of the programs, thus, you should leave them in the folder where the programs are.

To have any of those programs starting with windows, just drag each of them to the start menu, wait for it to open, then navigate to programs -> startup and drop them there. Any programs in that folder, will be started with xp. (you can also remove any of the programs from starting with xp by right-clicking it and selecting "delete").

Well, going against myself, i think that tall signatures with big images might become anoying. (i do love mine, though :P) But people around here tend to be polite, and i probably have the biggest sign in the forum.

I'd support the idea of people not being allowed to include links in their signatures until they have a certain number of posts (i'd go for 5, or something like that, i guess).
Another solution would be for the mods to be able to block someone's signature if it becomes spammy along the way.
Also, why not add some kind of human verification to the registering? (i don't mean those images noone understands, i mean those with phrases that have some specific answer)

Curt: there are several online sites to do that.
Here's one example.

You get that error because you need to specify a size to the array you create, try doing
Integer[] convertInt = new Integer[intArray.size()](0);

I'm not absolutelly sure if that's the syntax and currently i don't have eclipse installed to confirm.

One more vote for BRU. There hasn't been any renaming task it hasn't been able to acomplish. Also, the live preview is VERY useful.

Note: i haven't tried many, but DOpus' internal renaming utility isn't too bad, and oscar's with vim is also quite acceptable.

As for the second part, i think you're looking for something like Volumouse.

For the first part.. I'm pretty sure there should be some program to acomplish that too, but right now i can't recall any.

anjan_oleti: notice that i won't be able to do something as good as MouseLight, and it costs only 2.27 EUR  :o
Probably it'd be quite a good deal, if you need so much of such a tool ;)

Man... What a fantastic game. I already finished the default game and one of the expansion packs. It's so damn good that i just decided to donate to the author for his fantastic work!
Careful while you play this, If you have any work to do, don't even think about starting to play it!!

Oh, ok, that makes sense to me.

You think that even with its current use of processor it's worth it? That i can't fix, unfortunatelly.

"adjusting the size of glow, adjusting transparency level of rest of the desktop" is very possible, if you'd like, i can add it.
The other stuff like hiding the mouse cursor or selecting an area is way harder (being that the latter i think is impossible).

This is such a fun idea that i decided to do it.

I really can't see the point, though.. What would anyone want this for?

I made a really simple version (i can't mimic the mac version with that good shadow), just for you to play.
Unfortunatelly, it uses way too much processor power, which makes it a bit impossible to use on daily basis!

Sooo... does the new yellow box appeal to you, with scrollbar and tuned timeouts? 8)
Amazing!!! Beautiful, i must say. Too bad it won't work under opera  :(

JGPaiva's GridMove and Ahk Tools / Re: GridMove - grids here
« Last post by jgpaiva on September 06, 2007, 01:44 PM »
I keep using GridMove with the best grid i've made until now (or so i think), the edge grid. It's good because i can place stuff on 4 quadrants, on 2 sides (by placing it on one quadrant and then maximizing vertically) or in the middle (which is where i usually have Opera, maximized vertically).

the great thing about gridmove, of course, is that it can be as simple or as complex as the user wants
Yes, i think you're right! But i'm happy if it helps everyone to be more productive ;)

JGPaiva's GridMove and Ahk Tools / Re: GridMove - grids here
« Last post by jgpaiva on September 06, 2007, 01:31 PM »
yes, nudone... I've come to the conclusion that making a good grid isn't easy.
I had previously thought about doing something like eric did, but everytime i tried i just gave up half way or it just turned out pretty bad.
I like the way earl did it, because it makes it easy to understand which part does what, but it has a tremendous problem as i see it: some targets are too small, and kind of defeats the purpouse of being fast to resize windows. It does support a LOAD of different sizes thought, which is definitelly useful.
2298
No, jgpaiva, that was the strange point. The extension was right, but the description was wrong. In the Explorer column "type", any divx video is listed as a "divx video file". Any avi file should be listed "avi file", but was described as a miro.1 type.

I see. Ok. Well, i'm glad it's solved, then :P
2299
Curt: you mean it changed the extension of the file from .avi to .miro.1??

There are quite a few alternatives for this kind of thing.
AFAIK, this is called collaborative software. The wikipedia keeps a (quite large) list of this kind of software: http://en.wikipedia....llaborative_software.
