A big thank you!

I love this little program!  :-*

We could debate if this is a *serious* bug, but IF you ever touch the code again, please fix this:
- "force next song" doesn't override blacklisted processes (there's no way you can *make it* it play the next file while a blacklisted process is active)

Hi mouser,

I'm very happy with MP3 Skype Recorder from http://voipcallrecording.com/ - it's free and they fixed the bugs, so now it's always working for me when I need it.

General Software Discussion / Re: who can set up WordPress for me?
« Last post by brotherS on June 03, 2011, 03:49 AM »
If you are only looking for setup and not design work, I'd be willing to do it. I like doing stuff like this more than I enjoy generating the content to fill such a site. I think I keep creating new blogs just so I can go through the process of setting one up and customizing it.

If you have the hosting account and the theme you want to use, along with some idea of the plugins you want, I'll be willing to do the work to set it up.

Thanks! Since my first post WordPress is already set up on the account, but only with a basic theme, nothing customized yet. I'll get in touch with you.

General Software Discussion / who can set up WordPress for me?
« Last post by brotherS on May 17, 2011, 06:20 AM »
Hi,

I'm looking for someone who could set up WordPress for a new site. My picture needs to be integrated into the design, and a contact form needs to be set up - maybe it's possible to copy and paste it from an older site of mine?

Since my last project failed (financially) I'm not in a position to pay a lot for this - but maybe I can do something else for you in exchange?
231
Awesome! I'll update right away and will post again should any bug show up.

Thank you, this turned out into a great coding snack!
232
Two more feature ideas:

- a right-click option at the top of the tray menu: "Replay last file" (that doesn't influence when the next file is being played)
- a settings option where you can select if "Replay last file" or "Reload script" is the default action for double-clicking the icon
233
You just want the websites monitored or do you want the actual streams monitored?

Are you (considering) coding it or were you just curious?  :D
234
Last night I looked at the tray info, and this time it was correctly in sleep mode, but displaying the time in a strange way: "Sleep mode between -HHMM..." (HHMM being the no_sounds_end time)
235

Just monitoring the website would be enough.

Hi,

I'm looking for a tool that checks the SHOUTcast info for an online radio stream (more than one stream would be nice, but is probably a lot harder to code) every x minutes (as specified in the settings/.ini), and would notify the user with a sound and/or popup notice (selectable in the settings/.ini) when specific keywords/phrases (as listed in the settings/.ini) fully or partially match the "Current Song" info (see http://stream2.jungletrain.net:8000/ for an example of such stream info; this is a good station to test the code on, because they publish the upcoming live shows at http://jungletrain.net/shows).

It would only do so during the times specified (in the settings/.ini).

Other feature ideas:
- display the most recent "Current Song" when you hover over its tray icon
- allow the user to choose if he wants to be notified by a tray bubble or a 'in your face' popup
- allow the user to start his favorite player directly from the popup

For obvious reasons "SHoutcast Information Tool" might not be the best name for this, but how about "SHOUTcast Radio Notifier"? It's unknown to Google as of now. 8)

Last night RandomPlayer ignored the sleep times again. I hovered over the tray icon after that happened: no sign of sleep mode.

I then reloaded the script, and the info changed to sleep mode.
238
Well, works here. Did you restart the script after changing the ini?

I started with a new ini due to the changes/updates, so yes.

What is the tray tip saying (if you hover the mouse cursor over the icon)?

It wanted to play the next file in x minutes, so no sign of sleep mode there either. I'll do some more testing.
239
RandomPlayer seems to ignore the sleep times, it played something after 23:30 - these are my settings:

[NOSOUNDS]
no_sounds_enable = 1
         ; 0 or 1
no_sounds_start = 2330
         ; HHMM 24h
no_sounds_end   = 0820
         ; HHMM 24h

240
A new version is online... see my first post.

I've tested it quite some time, but there's a lot to test already. So I hope there're no bugs.

Thank you! So far it's running very smoothly here... possibly bug-free! :)

What are colorless buttons?

I like the current size and layout of the buttons.

Hmm... the last update seems to have introduced a new bug, not involving any rewinding or forwarding. Trout sometimes goes to "pause" by itself, keeping the same track loaded (if you press play, it will play the previous track again). I didn't find a way to reproduce it reliably yet.

(Random Play mode is being used)
243
Ok. :)

Another idea (in addition to the sleep mode) would be an option to be able to set the PC idle time in minutes (I used A_TimeIdlePhysical for that in the past) after which RandomPlayer stops playing stuff too, even outside of the set sleep times.

So when you sleep longer on a Saturday or Sunday (with the PC running), RandomPlayer won't start to play something before you get up.

Have a good weekend!

Hehe... if it's too hard to fix, I prefer living with the "unpausing a track after advancing it" bug over NOT having the "Rewind on unpause" feature.  8)

Hmm... it seems the change introduced a new bug (or two). The "rewind track" option now sometimes doesn't work (it just resumes where I paused it), and when I...
- pause a tune at point A
- fast forward a minute or so to point B and
- resume it,
- then let it play for a minute or so to point C and
- pause it again and
- then resume it again,
it resumes at *twice* the set "rewind track" amount of seconds ahead of position B, *not* position C!

Quite an interesting bug! :D

Thank you for updating, there's just one problem: WinRAR gives this error message: "The archive is corrupt" - could you check it and upload again? (I tried it twice.)

And one small suggestion: since you named it "Trout", how about renaming the files in the installer/archive from "trout" to "Trout"? Just for consistency. :)
249
Also, I'd like an option to have RandomPlayer announce only *that* it's about to play something, but not *what*... some surprise factor. :)
250
Hi there, new version uploaded.

Great! The only bug I can find in this version is that the "next song in X minutes" info (when you hover over the tray icon) is not updated as time passes... it always (for example) says 15 minutes, even a minute before the file is then correctly being played.

And how about adding info (when you hover over the tray icon) when RandomPlayer is in 'sleep mode'?

Right-click tray menu added.

Nice, could you please also (re-)add a menu item to pause the script? :)

And how about using the default system editor instead of Editor for songlist ("songList" = typo?) and configuration?

About the blacklisted process... the default.ini had Skype.exe blacklisted. Perhaps it was active? The default.ini now comes with an empty blacklist.

Hmm.... maybe it was running in the background. I suggest you rephrase that bubble error message. I had NO IDEA what it meant... and I requested that feature!  ;D  Maybe change it to something like this?

No sound because blacklisted process
is active; see configuration.
