- what PDF Image Printer, (not free and not cheap), does.
-perfect for the job MerleOne described, but as you said, certainly "not free".
I am almost in a coma: $130 without support ($175 with support) ? !!!!  :o

The price has been lowered to $89.95 without- and $121.44 with- support (1-year only)
-but still way too expensive, I think, for a mere screenshot saved as pdf. Is it more?

General Software Discussion / Re: How can a b/w photo's thumbnail be in colours?

-thank you, Renegade.

so Stamps, Meta data and EXIF are two/three different things?
The coloured thumbnail did not go away when I deleted all EXIF data, and renamed the photo.
How do I "find" the stamp?

-that can happen if you save it with the same filename.
In this case I have done nothing to the original which was downloaded in b&w.

(On a side-note, English is not my second language, but a foreign language.)

General Software Discussion / How can a b/w photo's thumbnail be in colours?
« Last post by Curt on July 15, 2012, 06:45 PM »
Obviously this photo began life as a colour picture, and only then was converted into black & white. But it is a mystery to me how Explorer and several photo editors can display the thumbnail in colours. Of course the photo is b&w when I open it, but even when copied, the new thumbnail is still in colours. I wonder if a photo somehow is carrying a thumbnail photo of itself? I have never seen this before - but of course I very seldom have any black & white pictures. Actually, in this case as in most cases, I think I would prefer the colourful "orange" version ;-)

I have not edited this photo; it was downloaded in black & white.

-interesting site, Stefan Trost Media.

I didn't care much for his Text Images, though. In fact I will get (mildly) annoyed at least once a week because I subscribe to a newsletter using such text images. But as you said, "it is just one of several potentially useful/interesting donationware proggies listed on the sttmedia.com website":

He has done a lot of work to give his portable Easy MP3 Player a powerful search engine with an almost extreme number of RegEx features. But to my sad surprise the only playlist file extension it seems to handle, is .emp. However, I think I might test it all the same; the list of functions is impressive.

There are a couple of other "Easy MP3 Player"s on the market, from other companies,
it really should be easy to pick a better name...

Brazil's number 3 is not some kind of midget or otherwise mini-sized,
this is just how it often looks when normal sized people are standing between athletes...:

-here singing their national hymn.

Brazil showed Denmark that there still is quite a distance between number 1 and 2, so we took silver...

The city of Randers in Denmark is to host the 2013 edition of the Men’s, Women’s and Younger Age Category European Beach Handball Championships.
-European Handball Federation

-the Brazilian team will of course not be part of this event, but still I wonder how the south European teams will cope with the Danish lack of summer heat...: we may stand a chance to become the next European Champions!

I hadn't heard about this one before: Print Saver Eco, maybe that is why it is being offered by Avanquest...
£30, now £20
http://www.avanquest...int-saver-eco-141892

Re-edited:
oh, I realize the discount isn't on, when using the normal link.
Here is a very long link that probably is connected to my email  address:
http://software.avan...OG5mpqVsje_HhdAHDFKk
please tell if private informations is appearing!

Print Saver Eco: Saving the World, One Printer at a time
Print Saver Eco Ink and Toner Saver can reduce up to 75% of your ink usage and it can be used with any printer, as well as printers shared over any Local Area Network (LAN). When activated, Print Saver Eco Ink and Toner Saver resides in the system tray and functions in the background, so there is no need to make adjustments every time you print. It's easy - new ink saving settings can be activated via one click.

    No Ink Reduction ..... - ..... 20% Ink Reduction
print_compare.jpg

The Ink/Toner Saving Option window allows you to Customise your saving ratio. Simply drag the marker on the scale to the desired percentage indicating how much ink you'd like to save when you print. For example, moving the marker to 25% means you will print using 75% of the amount of ink you would normally

I always move such stand-alone program's folder from Downloads to PF(x86), and it will automatically be marked with the "ownership"-symbol. Anyway, I don't have UAC related problems.

FRAPS is tempting, but I have a FREE key for the old Camtasia 5 (from 2008), so even it now is at version 8, it will do for now; a video is merely a video... or something.

-thanks
The idea was simple and easy to test, but... just one minute of using Camtasia 5 => 275MB,
so screen capturing for 1½ hour surely must produce a gigantic² filesize!
or not ?

oh, wait
- I realize I can settle with one file per period. Okay, this will be manageable.

Thanks!

Tonight (in 6 hours from now) Denmark is playing the final match for the World Championship in Beach Handball for women (against Brazil). The match is being streamed and I would like to keep the video. However, to my surprise Firefox VideoHelper will merely catch small blocks (from 16kb to 237kb) from the stream, not the entire video. I have no experience in catching video streams, so I have come to ask for 'your' advice, please.

We can test your ideas via http://www.dhf.dk/Pr...e_4_x_landskamp_live
>> scroll to the red lines; there are also links to other (normal handball) matches being played,
or via http://spengerevent....se.at/hem2012stream/ (click "LIVESTREAM HARD" in the right margen)(playing right now as I type).

I don't like to work with a laptop, so my next two computers will probably be first a ("unlimited power") desktop, to create the audio-visual effects I need to accompany my lecture, and then a laptop to actually run them (in various auditoriums). What I really want (instead of the laptop) is a very powerful and huge iPad, but they are not yet anyway near what I need.

the spam thing is because of the wording of the extra sentence: "100 days of summer slumber" -may sound like an invitation to something else..., you know. My trusted contacts will also be spam-classified if they use ambiguous words of such kind. I read my emails online on my ISP ("Internet service provider") account, and I actually have two emails in my spam folder, send from my ISP and blocked by my ISP!!
