FWIW I'd still like an option to tack on a trailing space…

How are other people's stats doing?
793 (not thousands) but an extremely important 793!
I have wiped out and reinstalled Auspex quite a few times.

the thing that triggered the comment is my wife
Ah, yes, wives and 'the look' — that's come down on the distaff side from Eve, with some refinement by every generation  ;)

she types 'quid' to get £
I try to keep my own mnemonics as something that can't occur in English. As often as possible they begin with a 'q' which never is followed by 'u'.
You might suggest ukp in place of quid, in order to avoid a £ pro quo.

Seems there aren't many French-speakers around - otherwise there'd be a lot of funny comments about "comakerputeputeputer" ...

Pop-ups with number keys are a bit wobbly here.

I've been getting this (because I didn't read carefully and so was using the regular number keys, not the numeric keypad. (see attachment in previous post)
but after that, using the keypad '2' to select option 2 in the above produced (don't laugh)  "comakerputeputeputer"
-cranioscopical (November 04, 2010, 07:42 PM)

Sounds like a ferpectly reasonable word to me. This is still an experimental feature of course - I just had forogtten that the old build died on the 5th.

Does it recover if you start with a fresh bit of typing in your editor?
No, it doesn't.
The same thing happens if I use exclusively the numpad keys.
Using the completions in the image above, in a fresh run of Auspex, and adding a few spaces and a newline between each, gives:

com[tab] = companies
com[2] = companieputer

I've just this moment realized that this is happening in the Boxer text editor, in which everything that misbehaved elsewhere used to behave properly.
The issue above doesn't occur in — wait for it… wait for it… Kedit!!
It's fine in notepad.
Okay, got it.
I've had Boxer's autocomplete function enabled, which hasn't clashed previously with Auspex.
The new number choices are being grabbed by Boxer, not Auspex.
Turned off Boxer's autocomplete.
Take another antacid and see me again in a week.
No need for an English/Auspex — Auspex/English dictionary after all.

Sorry about that one  :-[

Sounds good!

(there are more ways to use this than you might imagine)

(but one might imagine more ways to use it than are possible)

BTW, I like Perry's idea for an on/off switch (from the tray icon?), rather than stop/restart.

if you live in a cold climate I suspect any cool points you might score for having a tablet would be negated by using a sausage to interact with the thing...
Not to mention that frozen sausages are hell to sharpen!

This one has probably been the case all along and may even be the design:

Auspex can't insert in certain circumstances, for example:

in "this is/something"

try to insert anywhere between "s/s" and Auspex won't play.
-cranioscopical (October 27, 2010, 08:35 PM)

Could you explain that a bit more please senor? Do you mean trigger a Replacement after moving back with the cursor or mouse?
Yes, sorry. That is what I meant (for both auto-completes and replacements). I guess it has to be that way.
And, in light of the above, here's a feature request — why not have Auspex replace what I typed with what I meant?

    * (Work in progress) New 'Organize' page which will help you to sort your completions into useful folders.
I can call the clean up page from the menu but not the organize page.

.52
Nice to have the close box minimize to tray, thanks!

Repeatable here:
Started clean with .52
Imported a bunch of words from a text file
Created my own auto-complete PaddleToTheSea
Tried 'Pad' - worked
Hit refresh
Edited PaddleToTheSea to Paddle To The Sea
Tried 'Pad' - worked
Hit refresh
Edited Paddle to the Sea to have a trailing space
Typed 'Pad' - pop-up worked; hit [tab] List index out of bounds (1)

So,
Okayed the error box
Restarted Auspex
Paddle To The Sea fires properly, with trailing space.

Thank heavens there's still something wobbly else I'd have seek a different hobby  ;)

There are some quite impressive pumpkin carvings here
