I recently installed the above mentioned pack and discovered that on my laptop, a celeron 1.5 with 764mb ram, that word ran very very slowly and was using heaps more resources than usual.-Grorgy (September 30, 2007, 11:44 PM)
I tried 'System Rescue CD', 'Insert', and 'Tom's Boot Disk (floppy). I could not get anything intelligent from any of them, but I heard they are fantastic - for those who know how to use them.
I also tried the Ubuntu live CD. Looks great, but how do I get access to my hard disk?-heinziten (October 02, 2007, 02:16 AM)
My experience leads me to question whether they have any idea how their software works.-Tekzel (October 01, 2007, 03:29 PM)

A computer salesman, a hardware engineer, and a software engineer are driving in a car together. Suddenly the right rear tire blows out, and the car rolls to a stop. The three men get out to investigate.
The salesman says, "time to buy a new car!"
The hardware engineer says, "well, first let's try swapping the front and rear tires - and see if that fixes it."
The software engineer says, "let's just try driving the car again, and see if the problem goes away by itself."

I guess I will have to learn to use LINUX boot disks. I only get a strange command prompt, and then I have no idea how to get started.-heinziten (October 01, 2007, 01:04 AM)

There are 10 types of people in the world: those who understand binary, and those who don't.
.[/off-topic]That's why I settled on playing the samples on a loopthis is what I've always done and is pretty simple to do. If you can't find any dedicated drum machine just pick a sequencer, use the sample files or download some, and loop them... after that is should be pretty easy to play with the tempo, volume, pitch, etc.

You may want to review this before installing KAV or KIS 7. It's very long and I'm not saying it will happen to you, but you should know about it.
