Yes, proprietary plug, your best bet is going to be a replacement universal PSU with interchangeable right-angle tips, like this:



Along with an adapter plug like this:



Although, it's still going to stick out 30mm-50mm.

Wouldn't it be easier to just reroute the power cord behind the laptop?

Or move the mouse?

Or just keep searching the internet until you find a replacement universal PSU that has the required right-angle plug.

People were asking how to do it from the browser Play Store for years, (it would still be a lot easier) - didn't even think to look at the app ... time for my morning coffee I think  

EDIT: After using it, it's still a PITA since you apparently can't multi-select to delete.  Even though online guides say there's a Delete icon up the top, all I have is Install.

Can you not use Task Scheduler to execute a script to demap the drive when the computer goes to Sleep and/or Shutdown?



I made an EventLog filter back here for power events if you want to check the Event ID.

It would seem to be the simplest method.

You could probably use the Task Scheduler to run a script on wake up to check whether it's connected to the work LAN or not and run following mappings/commands as appropriate.

The other thing which annoys me about all the major stores is the way you can't really do refined searches and 99% of free apps come with ads or limitations which the vendors don't reveal until after you've installed the app.

Plus with Android, you can't remove what you've previously installed, (and probably no longer use), from the list kept in your account at the online Play Store - which is a f'n PITA.

It would be easier if you just told us the laptop model then we can look up the plug/socket photos/specs - and considering that the plug sounds like it's going to be some proprietary shape, you're probably going to be out of luck.

My suggestion is move your laptop and mouse further away from each other.

In the past, when I'd download a file with Firefox, the downloaded file would show up immediately in the download folder when open in Dopus. With v. 11 however I thought something was wrong because I was looking all over the place in the folder for the latest downloaded file and couldn't find it. It was only after some considerable time that the file eventually showed up.

Has anyone else had that experience?

Yes, but it's always been some retarded AV that was the cause - the download would sit in Firefox/Pale Moon/etc at %100 for up to 15 seconds before the AV program would finally decide it's OK.

It's why I always try to use an AV where I can set at what point a file gets scanned, and writing it isn't one of them.

@wraith808: I guess if you'd read the books or any of the hype then you'd know they were aimed squarely at teens.  I usually just go, "Sci-Fi, I'll have to give it a try."  

Plus, I guess, it's the hope that maybe one of these films will actually be worth the time

Well, it was a minimal install, I had to install which before I could 'which grep' 

Answer was the same as the 'whereis grep' in the OP: /usr/bin/grep

Which leads us to:

A quick glance suggests that .install.sh is checking for grep ...

  Stupid, stupid, STUPID - I didn't think to do ls -A in the directory 

Now I can see why it failed, not so much that it couldn't find grep but that which wasn't installed ... aaarrgghhhh!

As soon as which was installed, it worked.

I don't think so, $PATH is the same after running make as it was before running, of course that doesn't preclude it being changed while it's running and reverting afterwards.

The same source compiled successfully on both CentOS 5 & 6, x86 & x64, without a problem - the only difference, (other than OS), being that those VPSs weren't minimal installs.

Or does it switch to another user-context for executing stuff (sudo <otheruser>) ?

Again, I don't think so, this is a fresh install of CentOS 7 so there's only whatever users are created at that point and I only log in as root, (I really should get out of that habit).

Link to source code / tarball under consideration?

Odd.  Grep is usually in /bin/grep rather than /usr/bin/grep from my experience.

I added /bin to $PATH but it made no difference, (even though there is a /bin/grep).

Forgot to mention it's x64 but I don't think that'll make a difference.

I hope one of our Linux gurus can give me a hand with this.

I've just installed CentOS 7 Minimal on a VPS and I'm trying to get SoftEther VPN server working on it, for which I need to download and compile it, (which I've done on 3 other CentOS 5 & 6 VPSs).

However, when I run the make command I get:

[root@wc vpnserver]# make
"grep" command not found.
Installation is aborted.
make: *** [default] Error 1

Which is a bit strange as I can use grep from the command line without a problem.

Output of $PATH and whereis:

[root@wc vpnserver]# echo $PATH
/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/root/bin
[root@wc vpnserver]# whereis grep
grep: /usr/bin/grep /usr/share/man/man1/grep.1.gz
[root@wc vpnserver]#

Any one got any ideas I can try please?
