regarding the censo... ehh moderation on Bits, please always check who is answering the questions > The one answering is usually the one moderating. Today the censor is Siber, not Bits. There is only little reason to accuse Bits du Jour in this case; it is theoretical always better for the customers, to have the author commenting (and therefor also moderating) than the seller (Bits). Bits' own censorship is still quite moderate.

Announce Your Software/Service/Product / Re: SilverNote
« Last post by Curt on September 12, 2012, 11:08 AM »
Curt - Regarding auto-starting with windows, SilverNote does not currently do that - do you mean you would like to have the option to do so?

-sorry. When I was installing SilverNote, my "Start Guard" prompted me, and I answered Yes, without reading what program the autostart request came from; I simply assumed it was from SilverNote. No, I don't want that option.

@Adam, congratulations on your fine program - and  welcome to DC.

My first little beep is about the lacking options / preferences / settings. As an example, I fail to see why even a free note-taking application should demand to auto-start with Windows - or not have a hotkey for minimizing to tray. At $46 I would demand such options.

But both your program and your homepage is looking very good and promising. ♥
Best of luck to your project!

Also, I think your uninstaller should offer to delete the relevant AppData folders.

ImageWalker is now called Diffractor.
Details at http://www.diffractor.com/

-but when later removed from the computer, it leaves 11 keys and 58 values in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Diffractor, and a database in C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Diffractor behind.

The program is smart and surprisingly fast, and even nice (in a posh, modern way).
I just didn't like it enough to keep it.

General Software Discussion / Re: Dupetrasher 2009 and asmdev

The company has launched PhotoSort in March 2012, so maybe they are not all dead... However, it is my impression that the former asmdev (who wrote DupeTrasher) has left the company and been replaced by the author of PhotoSort (the two programs are showing different author names). Maybe this new guy didn't "want" to maintain the homepage.

I feel certain DupeTrasher 2010_Final never was launched.

I am pleased with Waterfox 15 build 20120830123745, it is even faster than 14.
I have not (yet) seen any of those CPU spikes, dantheman spoke about.

-if no other program can do all that OneNote can do, then there is no other program to export everything to, I would say. But of course I don't know.

At the moment I am working with some older documents written in Word 2003, and I am having troubles with my new third-party programs editing them without ruining them. Actually I was thinking this very afternoon (before I knew about this thread) "I wish I had stayed loyal to Microsoft (Office)!"

But of course that is not some music service, or what it is the original post was about.

But you may have heard of the symptom:
I uploaded the others as well, because I could.

And now I have even added one more

Does anyone know of a fruit punch with real punch, the kind that leaves you bruised and bleeding (the revenge of the fruit that got pureed to make it)? I can imagine a picture of a battered guy with a caption related to that.

-not quite, but almost:

I expect Mr. Rutherford has a text editing software that automatically can vary a bunch of phrases - otherwise merely $20 (6,000/300) for a review really is too cheap, I think....

How about FARR

Find and Run Robot isn't the only program of its type available on the internet, though we think it's the best. Like most DonationCoder.com programs, you'll find a complete help file in the download that lists all similar shareware and freeware programs we know about (Launchy, Quicksilver, Dash, AppRocket, and many more).

What operating system are you working with?

Is MRU files the most wanted feature?

Do you also need quick "Open..." / "Save as..." navigation shortcuts?

Living Room / Re: Optimus Maximus

I own a copy of Optimus Maximus which is produced by the company Art. Lebedev Studio. I have however never before taken interest in finding out who or what this "Art. Lebedev Studio" really is. Until today. I received an email from Fab, saying that a Art. Lebedev Studio -product is on sale. I rushed to Fab's homepage, and was surprised to see that the item on sale had nothing to do with software, because I was met by this picture of a finger-giving umbrella!:

Turns out that Art. Lebedev Studio is a design company:

...  "congress" of baboons ... is not new; I heard it used maybe five years ago in an episode of Steven Fry's TV-show QI (short for "Quite Interesting") ...

I have just watched a re-run of the episode in mention, and was reminded that the new phrase not is "a congress", but "a flange" (-of baboons)!

... Anyone else have cleanup stories?

I went from approx 500 to 137
And Yes, I had to use several weeks to do so, waiting for Revo Pro to scan and scan and scan and...
but I think the result has been worth it.  ;)

On my next computer I would like to have even fewer but better programs, instead of these cheaper but inferior ones.

General Software Discussion / GAOTD wrapper updated
« Last post by Curt on August 22, 2012, 04:10 PM »
just for your information, regarding giveawayoftheday:

GOTD wrapper is updated
http://blog.giveaway...-wrapper-is-updated/

UPDATE (August 22, 2012):
we have modified the wrapper and added digital signature. It should definitely solve the problem for Agnitum Outpost Security.

While being trusted by Microsoft and other security tools, the signature is currently not accepted by AVG. Hopefully they will fix this glitch soon. In case you trust us, please disable the protection for a while (according to our tests it should be enough, no uninstall is needed).

For Norton disabling Firewall only should work in most cases. We’ve also contacted Symantec and are waiting for being “white listed”.

PS: starting now an extra .GCD file is included in every download archive. It is essential for correct installation and activation. If you experience any difficulties, please make sure to extract all files in a separate folder before start.
