For as far as I could see it's free (other stuff I found using a simple Google search was payware), but I couldn't test it for you, you can do that yourself, I assume.
You may need to add an option to the Explorer context menu for .doc files if it doesn't do that by default.

(and that could start a whole new discussion, I know, please don't take it there) I'm just saying that limiting to a specific number of cores (or other array-like structures) is just wrong. By design.
