The FreeDos Wiki pagew does give a few hints, and yes, you'd have to edit boot.ini

I'd go for AutoIt (my personal preference) or AHK (select the AHK_L variant), PowerShell is more a "cmd.exe on steroids" kinda tool, not so easy in interacting with 'foreign' UI controls, while AutoIt and AHK are actually specialized in that.
VB and C# do offer ways to interact with 'foreign' controls, but not quite as easy and seamless as AutoIt or AHK.

As an alternative for Protect Folder I'd go for TrueCrypt, tried, proven and free (donations are accepted :))

Dunno what that has to do with defending against keyloggers, but both have nothing to offer in that area. A keylogger does just that, log the keys you type at the keyboard, effectively capturing any information you add to any document or application you use... (including passwords etc.) Storing that information on an encrypted drive doesn't stop the keylogger, as it has already caught the information it wants.

Some of the Encrypted Drive/Folder software tools come with an embedded reader, so the folder can be mounted without fully installing the software, kinda like a portable 'install'.

does anyone know if xpdf can open a pdf file with something like C:> xpdf afile.pdf ?
How dangerous could it be to simply try that?

Hm, I've seen this video, but unfortunately my car also has some limitations. Maybe that'll be fixed if I'd buy a newer model?

There is any possibility to accept the letter ñ in the xml files ?
 :-*
It depends on the xml parser used, but this list is rather complete, and defines that you should use ñ (including both the & and ; characters)

any??
What vlastimil said is probably the most reliable and usable option. Have you tried that already?

Restoring closed windows is handled by one of Skrommel's snacks, GoneIn60s, afaik.

Usually only programmer editors and IDE's have that feature, usually termed as 'Fold' or 'Collapse'. And generic editors enable it only on known sourcecode types, like .c, .cs, .java, .ahk, etc. where the structure of the content is known, and can actually be collapsed in useful chunks. Scite does a nice job, even folding comments, but not for text. Most likely other programmers editors do allow/support that.

Looking good, but after using Jira for a couple of years, I'd say it's a bit too simple for our (business)needs.

For DC-collaboration projects it would be very useful, I'd say . I'll try it for the next project I'll be doing here

The MS ribbon is hardly narrow; it takes up a practically a third of the screen.
You have tried the standard Ribbon-minimize/hide feature? Double-clicking one of the tabs enables/disables that state.

All these options and parameters are in the (probably REALSQL) database 'C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Optimism\Optimism.rsd', AFAICS.
The "Custom..." buttons at the top of each screen-section brings up an edit screen where you can change the texts etc...

Just some work to set up a different set of questions, or a different language

Developer's Corner / Re: Aptana Studio 3 ROCKS~! (IDE for JavaScript)
« Last post by Ath on May 17, 2012, 06:14 AM »
Is it? That's weird. I think I've used Aptana before and liked it a lot for JS. But I've also used Eclipse before and didn't like it very much.
I'm using Eclipse 3.7.x with Java a lot,
o_O
and I prefer it much over NetBeans (7.x), even though that NB has some convenience points over Eclipse (mostly related to the default project/deployment features of the standard Ant build script, but I have my own set of Ant scripts).
I wish I had a same level IDE for C# (comparing usefulness and speed with VS2010... :P, and yes, I'm running W7x64 on an i7-860 with 8 GB memory).
OTOH, using Eclipse with C/C++ is IMHO absolute horror, compared even to Borland C++Builder 5 or 6.

Hm, still got trapped into that IDE-war, though I didn't want to go there

I didn't want to scare people off by saying the "E" word! :D :P
Some ppl actually like that "E" thing :-* but I don't wanna start another flame/praise thread about IDE's.

As (we already) said, Aptana is great for JS, and ofc also for other web-related development (it supports nearly anything that is used for website development), and it's also available as an Eclipse plugin.

Untested: http://www.softinter...oc%5CConvert-Doc.htm

For as far as I could see it's free (other stuff I found using a simple Google search was payware), but I couldn't test it for you, you can do that yourself, I assume.
You may need to add an option to the Explorer context menu for .doc files if it doesn't do that by default.

Aptana Studio isn't VS, but man... It's close, and certainly makes JavaScript programming much nicer.
You could just have said that Aptana is in fact a customized release of Eclipse 3.x, but maybe that's too much for a VS addict like you :P

They do have quite amazing Javascript support, yeah!
