You want even more humor?
I want even more Human.
Thank you for your concern :) (and for calling us "primates", that's really nice of you).

Given the fact that no one here seems to be interested in evolving from your definition of "primate" to your definition of "human", I would now ask the members of the forum to consider this matter closed.
Thanks you for your participation.

Seeing as you got ignored, We shall consider this topic locked :)

Do a search on gri or grivitiniks on Google (or look at Gri's other posts here)... I wouldnt worry too much about understanding.

I did, and they are all posts from him saying the same thing, in some insane, none English fashion

I'm lost, and will probably never be found on this one, so I shall leave this to people who know how to translate this lol

Anyone care to translate?  :wallbash:
-Stephen66515 (July 10, 2012, 09:45 PM)

What Gri is pointing out is that in SMF 1.x (which DC has installed), individual messages are referenced by their thread ID + message ID, in the format "index.php?topic=31419.msg292188#msg292188", making it harder for posts to be moved without breaking the links in the quotes, since quotes use this format and thus links are broken when the message is moved to a different thread.
Apparently, when installing his mod or when upgrading SMF 2.x, the posts can be referenced by themselves and thus the links will keep working when posts are moved between different threads. That's why he quotes people using links in the format "index.php?msg=293179".
Also, according to Gri, this single fact makes DC "inappropriate for placing of the posts".

[edit] also, in case you haven't noticed yet (or you weren't here when he started posting on DC), he loves the attention :P [/edit]

DC's move thread doesn't break the quotes though o_0

Wow, VERY nice...I was not expecting to see a full list of videos on the site, when I loaded the software (I speed install and speed click, so I didn't bother looking at the screenshot which I just noticed lol)

I did notice, that while downloading only 1 video, the Individual File Progress Bar moved, while the 'Overall Progress' didn't (Until the download finished)...making me slightly worried as to how many videos I was downloading...Kinda thought I had hit 'Download All' which, would not have been fun; given how many videos there are...Is this intentional, a bug, a quirk, a ?

Another note is, I selected C:\ as the download path, yet it has gone and hidden the files in C:\TED_High\TEDGlobal 2012_Jul 2012 - Is there any way to stop this, as I don't want to have to have folder after folder of videos (I figure if I selected C:\, then thats where it would go)

A feature request would be, to allow the user (me) to select which file format to download the video in (mkv, avi etc) - I know I can convert myself, but if this downloaded the file in the style I wanted, it would save a job :P

Other than that, WONDERFUL!

OK, this is literally a MINI review, but never-the-less, a review all the same.

Basic Info

Website NameFreehostia
Hosting PlanChocolate (Free)
Support MethodsNot much, just a basic e-mail support system
Upgrade PolicyLive upgrades paid yearly
Pricing SchemeFree & Premium
Relationship btwn. Reviewer and Product None...

Intro:

Freehostia are a free website hosting service.

Who is this designed for:

People who want free website hosting

The Good

Its free
1 free database.

The needs improvement section

You are HEAVILY limited to the number of concurrent connections to your website, dependent on the current server load (Regardless of how your website is using the server), I e-mailed their support about this, and got the following reply:

Hello,

The number of concurrent users limit depends a lot of the server load. The paid accounts do not have such restriction. You can resolve the issue by upgrading the account.

Let us know if you have any additional questions.

I found this out, after a friend mentioned he could not connect.  Bare in mind, this is a forum, SMF to be precise, so I can see how many people are online at any one time...and that number was ONE...ME! - So basically, I have a forum hosted there, what nobody can view, if I happen to have a tab open for that domain.

Why I think you should use this product

I don't...I am writing this, mainly, to tell you, if you want website hosting for free...Look elsewhere

How does it compare to similar apps

Couldn't tell you, not tried any other 'Free' hosting services before, and to be honest, I'm in no hurry to go through this again.

ReadyBoost can speed up your computer by using storage space on most USB flash drives and flash memory cards. When you plug a ReadyBoost-compatible storage device into your computer, the AutoPlay dialog box offers you the option to speed up your computer using ReadyBoost. If you select this option, you can choose how much memory on the device to use for this purpose.

When you set up a device to work with ReadyBoost, Windows shows you how much space it recommends you allow it to use for optimal performance. For ReadyBoost to effectively speed up your computer, the flash drive or memory card should have at least 1 gigabyte (GB) of available space. If your device doesn't have enough available space for ReadyBoost, you'll see a message telling you to free some space on the device if you want to use it to speed up your system.

You can enable or disable ReadyBoost for a specific flash drive or other removable storage device. For more information, see Turn ReadyBoost on or off for a storage device.

What to look for in a flash memory device

Here are some tips on what to look for when selecting a USB flash drive or flash memory card to use with ReadyBoost:

The minimum amount of available space recommended for ReadyBoost to effectively speed up your computer is 1 GB.

For best results, use a flash drive or flash memory card with available space of at least double the amount of memory (RAM) in your computer, and preferably four times as much memory. For example, if your computer has 1 GB of RAM and you plug in a 4 GB USB flash drive, set aside at least 2 GB on the flash drive to get the best performance gain from ReadyBoost, and preferably the entire 4 GB. How much memory you need depends on how you use your computer. Keeping a lot of programs open at once uses more memory.

Give ReadyBoost 2 GB to 4 GB of space for best results on most computers. You can reserve more than 4 GB of space for ReadyBoost on most flash drives and flash memory cards. (Storage devices formatted with the older FAT32 file system can't store more than 4 GB.) You can use a maximum of 32 GB of available space on any single removable storage device with ReadyBoost and up to 256 GB total per computer (by inserting up to eight USB flash drives or flash memory cards into the same computer).

To work with ReadyBoost, a USB flash drive must support USB 2.0 or higher. Your computer must have at least one free USB 2.0 port where you can plug in the flash drive. ReadyBoost works best if you plug the flash drive into a USB port directly on the computer, rather than into an external USB hub shared with other USB devices.

If you want to be sure a USB flash drive works with ReadyBoost, look for a note from the manufacturer that the flash drive is "Enhanced for ReadyBoost." Not all manufacturers list this on their packaging. If there is no mention of ReadyBoost compatibility, the flash drive still might work with ReadyBoost.

There are many different kinds of flash memory cards, such as CompactFlash and Secure Digital (SD) memory cards. Most memory cards work with ReadyBoost. Some SD memory cards don't work well with ReadyBoost due to issues with the SD card interface. ReadyBoost will display a warning message if you attempt to use one of these cards.

Notes

If your computer has a hard disk that uses solid-state drive (SSD) technology, you might not see an option to speed up your computer with ReadyBoost when you plug in a USB flash drive or flash memory card. You may instead receive the message, "Readyboost is not enabled on this computer because the system disk is fast enough that ReadyBoost is unlikely to provide any additional benefit." This is because some SSD drives are so fast they're unlikely to benefit from ReadyBoost.

In some situations, you might not be able to use all of the memory on your device to speed up your computer. For example, some flash memory devices contain both slow and fast flash memory, but ReadyBoost can only use fast flash memory to speed up your computer.

Developer's Corner / Re: Pelles C 7.00
« Last post by KynloStephen66515 on July 09, 2012, 04:55 AM »
For those who had the same reaction as me ("The hell is Pelles C 7.00"):

Pelles C is a complete development kit for Windows (and Windows Mobile, but this platform is fading away). It contains among other things an optimizing C compiler, a macro assembler, a linker, a resource compiler, a message compiler, a code signing utility, a make utility and an install builder.

It also contains an integrated development environment (IDE) with project management, debugger, profiler, source code editor, and resource editors for dialogs, menus, string tables, accelerator tables, bitmaps, icons, cursors, animated cursors, animation videos (AVI's without sound), versions and XP manifests.

The compiler is originally based on LCC (by Chris Fraser and David Hanson), but since then enhanced with support for C99 and C11, a global optimizer, a new register allocator, a function inliner, intrinsic functions, and many Microsoft C extensions.

The install builder for Windows is originally based on NSIS from Nullsoft.

Features:
Support for 32-bit Windows (X86), 64-bit Windows (X64), and (deprecated) Windows Mobile (ARM).
Support for the C99 and C11 standard.
Support for most SSE, SSE2, SSE3, SSSE3, SSE4.1, SSE4.2, AES, and AVX(1) intrinsics (X64 only).
Integrated source code editor with call tips and symbol browsing.
Integrated source-level debugger.
Integrated sampling profiler.
Project management.
Inline assembler for X86 and ARM.
Integrated resource editor.
Integrated bitmap, icon and cursor editor.
Integrated animated cursor and video editor.
Integrated hex-dump editor.
Support for custom controls in the dialog editor.
Support for custom project wizards.
Pelles C is freeware. See terms of use.

Oh 40... That is just so WRONG~! :P

Thats actually freaking hillarious! haha.

The area that I have picked out for this, is the only fully non-tattooed area on my body (The upper part of my left leg) - The closest ink to it will be a spider web with a number 13 and line work of an old school swallow (bird), which is located on my kneecap, and just above it. - I will grab some pics soon :D

The only reason I've told you not to get one was I didn't want you to wake up one day and regret it..  But if you're taking random requests and you're at 1500+ posts, I guess you could do worse that a little Cody tattoo..

Regret a Cody tattoo? NEVER! Honestly, I regret NONE of my Ink and all can be covered up if needed :P

I already have a spot picked out for Cody :D - This design I'm asking for can be ANYTHING :D - I will get the cody one when mouser stops being mean and gives me permission haha

As some of you may know, I'm quite the tattoo addict.  I currently have around 60% coverage and have no plans on stopping :P

Anyhow,

I have a space around 6 Inch x 6 Inch pre-selected for the purpose of having my friends, here on DC, design something cool, fun, or both, that I will have tattooed!

Please no profanity or vulgarity as I try to avoid both.

Can be Black & Grey, or as colourfull as you want to make it :)

I will leave this here for a week or so, then I will have my favorite one of however many there are (If any at all) done, this time next week xD

Gogogo!

Is that operation laborious?

Where's the freaking "Indifferent" smiley?  :P

But back to the tablet: Where the flock is the external storage you cretins!?!

It has none, which is why I am going to be getting the 16GB model.  For my mrs at least, 16GB is plenty, considering a full move compressed well enough can get as small as 350MB, thats still a crap load of entertainment for the price. - Also, theres nothing stopping anybody from hooking up a 64GB thumb drive for extra content.

*EDIT*

or pop a Wireless HDD in your bag, and have any amount of storage you could possibly want!

It couldn't have come at a more perfect time! - My mrs just returned a defective tablet for a full refund, which means she can wait a week or 3 and buy this instead (Not like she has any choice, seeing as I am going to pretty much force her to get this, instead of another cheap crappy chinese import MID thing.)
