Living Room / Re: The Story of Merlin: The 1978 Electronic Game
« Last post by Renegade on March 06, 2014, 09:56 AM »I played with them in the store, but never got one.
An unsuspecting, disenchanted man finds himself working as a spy in the dangerous, high-stakes world of corporate espionage. Quickly getting way over-his-head, he teams up with a mysterious femme fatale.
I don't want to spoil anything. Worth a watch for fun. It gets better as it goes along, making it very worthwhile.
C'mon... worth watching just for her~!

Let's suppose that someone was to say to me either:
(a) "Obama appears to be the greatest and most ethical President of our times", or
(b) "Obama appears to be the greatest liar and most deceiving President of our times".-IainB (February 27, 2014, 07:38 AM)
I for one consider the Ted talks is just like the Internet : there are a lot of good things there if you know how to filter out the stuff you either don't need or don't care about.
I learned about a lot of interesting things from Ted talks, so i cannot say it's a bad thing, you just need to learn to filter through all the information (this is something you have to do with most information sources anyways).
Also, sometimes you can see things from a different perspective (different from what you're used to anyways) and that is never a bad idea, you pretty soon realize things are usually not black or white but lots of shades of gray (more than 50 :p )-verszipo (February 27, 2014, 06:42 AM)
Probably a bad comparison. The world would be a better place without the UN.-Renegade (February 26, 2014, 02:42 PM)
No. I think a public forum where an idea can be presented, or an argument entertained, is better than no public forum at all.-40hz (February 26, 2014, 05:07 PM)
As far as the UN goes, the world would be a better place without a lot of things political. Unfortunately, most proposals I've heard are 'solutions' that are worse than the problems they hope to address.-40hz (February 26, 2014, 05:07 PM)
But, like the UN, I still think (in the absence of anything better to take its place) it's important that a gathering like TED continue to be around.-40hz (February 25, 2014, 01:36 PM)
MithrilMan in the BTF is creating a new client for Huntercoin. It’s not ready quite yet, but I had the chance to test it along with 2 other people. The game client is coming along really well, and is extremely smooth.

Well, I sold off a small number of the coins I have, and made 0.17 bitcoins, or a bit over $150 USD.-Renegade (February 05, 2014, 05:33 AM)
Hahahaha~!

I received your HUC. And I think I created a character, but I don't see myself in the game, and I don't know how to actually play.-Deozaan (February 04, 2014, 06:18 PM)
The forum thread said it takes forever if you're not using an SSD-Deozaan (February 04, 2014, 05:53 PM)
AhNot using an SSD, and don't have one.
-wraith808 (February 04, 2014, 08:37 PM)
I figured out how to "play". . . sort of. It's like the slowest and dumbest MUD ever.
I'm not sure it's worth it.-Deozaan (February 05, 2014, 02:35 AM)
And at market rates, I made almost $300 today for playing a silly game!
-Renegade (February 03, 2014, 08:55 AM)
$300 USD? Can you actually trade it for cash, or is that just a theoretical exchange rate?-Deozaan (February 04, 2014, 05:25 PM)
It only took me about 30 minutes to sync, and it started at "3 days behind". The forum thread said it takes forever if you're not using an SSD, so I made sure to put the program on my SSD.
