General Software Discussion / Re: What fonts do I actually need?
« Last post by mitzevo on September 18, 2007, 07:39 AM »
I also use HighLogic's MainType. I haven't used it extensively, but I do use it from time to time, actually I'm beginning to use it more. I actually won the license from a very cool place! ;)

re the comic sans bashing: i personally don't like using comic sans, i know at school we used it most of the time when learning about word processors and etc.. and up to this time I have seen it used all over the place.. either you like it or you don't, but I don't see the point of a "ban comic sans" site.. wtf - it's pretty stupid actually. Actually I do see a purpose for such a site: an idiot.

Hey I've got an idea.. I really hate Times New Roman, and it's used everywhere! Why don't I start a website "ban times new roman"?

;D

Not really, TNR I've gotten used to and actually like to use it some times - but I'm just pointing out how stupid the ban comic sans thing is..

I am currently checking out FontFrenzy dues to Carol's remark.https://www.donation...com/About/index.html

Developer's Corner / Re: Dev-C++ Discontinued?

tonsofpcs, don't be rude.. of course he means IDE.. obviously.  >:(

any way,

I hate it when some thing gets abandoned and no info is given.. 2 years and no updates on what is happening if any thing?  :o

mahesh2k, it doesn't matter how big the IDE is, unless of course you don't like installing huge apps - but it really has nothing to do with being a good choice for new comers to C/C++, etc.

but I do agree (on what you are conveying) that DevC++ is a good little IDE (not too bloat)..  well it was back in the day ;D but you can still use it.. it's only all the newer ones with all these new features and mile stones that make you think it's not very good any more, but it still does it's job right? ;)

mouser, care to elaborate?

What exactly are you trying to say?  :o

I myself use FARR, it does the job, and it does it good (plus the plug-ins are hip) :D

Very nice review Darwin, DA is one very cool app  I recommend any one try it out and evaluate it!

Also, those looking for a free (for personal use) alternative (but with less features of course) might want to take a look at PhraseExpress

PhraseExpress organizes your frequently used text snippets and allows pasting them into any application.

  •     * Expand abbreviations as you type
  •     * Launch applications by entering text shortcuts
  •     * Quickly handle email responses

That poll is pretty useless.. how about the options be:

"wrong"
"don't care, but buy me beer, vodka + cranberry/orange"

;)

Too bad for you and/or your mainstreams ;) I would happily make the switch to *nix permanently.  I bet a lot of people feel the same ;D

Woo.. I think it's quite clear I like DC very much, and I spend a lot of time here. DC is lucky to have me, and I (as well as every one else) is lucky to have DC..  :)

Found Deals and Discounts / Re: Acronis True Image 9 - $8 (plus shipping)
« Last post by mitzevo on September 13, 2007, 10:06 AM »
Did any one buy from this site? Is it a physical product (software box, etc.) (I guess so since "plus shipping).. ? If any one is going to buy one, please buy 2 (one for me) and once you receive it, send me the key.. or is there an easier way? I don't need box set (cdrom, etc.) I just need the key - Of course I will give you money.

Reason is because I don't want to sign up to that site, and my circumstances prevent me from getting it delivered - which I am not going to say why  ;D

So if any one is going to order from here, notify me and I will send you the money to get me a copy!

edit: ok, it's small box product as mwb1100 pointed out.. like I said, if some one wants to order them self a copy, and wouldn't mind one for me as well, please pm me  :-*

basic usually means basic != vb

vb/visual basic are just the opposite.

I use KeePass and RoboForm (the safenotes feature) to store important stuff like serial numbers, accounts, etc. Before that I just had a directory with .txt files for each program - actually I think I also used my email account to send (or save drafts - gmail, etc.) myself the codes/numbers, then after that I started using fSekrit, but now the two programs I mentioned first are my main tools for the job  ;D
222
Great month, finally got that xplorer² review finished and published ;D
223
I use KeePass & RoboForm.

RoboForm is pretty much web based (i.e., for website logins) &
KeePass is pretty much a general password manager (but can also be used for websites ;D)

also they are both capable of storing text, things such as reg numbers, and other stuff - encrypted of course :)
224
 ;D

They're not the same at all. I use KeyPass and it's much better than KeePass.

I too, would like to know why you think KeyPass is better than KeePass  :tellme:
225
Do you have some examples of these kind of "web snacks" ?? Not really practical is it? idk.  :D
