oh wow you have a huge screen there, and the list view looks nice.

are you using wintidy? can it remember the icon position or you are using 'desktop restore' to remember the positions?

It seems that theBat can't display images not included in the downloaded message!
-Carol Haynes (July 08, 2006, 08:33 PM)
that's undesirable, so what are you going to try next?

how bout Thunderbird?
207
any reason you dont use Outlook Express?
it works well for me.

or you can change it to "single click to open an item".

do you use a pc or mac?

i have a pc, for browsers i use a proxomitron filter to convert all bright background color to grey, for windows you can find a darker theme, there are plenty of them in deviantART.

what version of winrar do you use? i have version 3.42 it unpacked it without any problem.

may be this is related to the error you seeing: NOD32 and WinRAR 3 Archives

if bypassing NOD32 didnt help, try an older version of winrar see if it fixes it.

Oo er ... it downloaded quickly but it is taking WinRAR an age to unpack it (longer than the download!)
-Carol Haynes (July 04, 2006, 05:17 PM)

winrar took only 30secs to unpack for me, i think it was your AV that slowed it down, bypass NOD32 and try again.

you can stream the flash file if you like, no need to download first, like what we see in youtube, ie.
http://youtube.com/w...=germany%202006%20wc

there is an "Embed" code, paste that on your website and it will stream from youtube.

Image Manager Shootout / ACDSee - the best image viewer for large files
« Last post by kimmchii on July 02, 2006, 01:29 AM »
my computer has 1GB of RAM, pagefile is off.

the image i was trying to view/open:
type: .tif file
size: 75 MB
image properties: 61803x7200x32b

(if you like to try, this is the image in rar (yousendit link)

i tried a lot of image viewers, nothing worked even when i turned on the page file to 4GB, most of the viewers just freeze.

ACDSee (version 5 and above) opened the image beautifully even with pagefile off , mem usage increased from 30MB++ to 130MB++ and then dropped back to 45MB when the image is opened.

so amazing, big thumb ups to ACDSee.

edit: fix link.
