EBay Bans Sale Of Spells, Hexes

Company Also Eliminating Category Listings For Psychic Readings, Tarot Card Sessions

Beginning in September, the site is banning the sale of "advice, spells, curses, hexing, conjuring, magic, prayers, blessing services, magic potions, [and] healing sessions," according to a policy update.
The company is also eliminating its category listings for psychic readings and tarot card sessions.
The update is a part of a "multi-year effort...to build trust in the marketplace and support sellers," eBay wrote in its company blog.
Has anyone actually been buying magic on eBay? It seems so: The site's "spells and potions" category currently has more than 6,000 active listings and happy feedback from quite a few satisfied buyers.

A psychic/magic auction site could do very well.

Yeah, I saw some of those listings on eBay where sellers are raking in an absolute fortune by "Sending psychic healing" (IE, taking a customers money, and laughing all the way to the bank)

Dunno if I could work on a site for something I find so stupid lol

1. web configurator - chose what would you like to see on your page, what browsers to support, etc. -> you'll see links for libraries
i.e I want my page to support HTML5/CSS3 and fixed size layout - links for modernizer and 960

2. cook it - type in what you've got in fridge -> see closest recipe

3. pr0n lookup - chose what kind of " human features" you like ->  actress name ;)

4. gmaps like system for custom maps - I would really like to have GPS tagged games screenshots

5. fun SPAM - page with hilarious email SPAM screenshots,

1. Not sure what you mean

2. Sounds interesting, I am not much of a foodie though

3. lol, no NSFW stuff

4. GPS tagged game screenshots? - "Taken from the sniper tower located left of the east gate" ?

5. Never seen any funny spam :(

The only website name I recognise on that list is "www.baidu.com" - And seeing as ANYBODY can type in any link (Pretty sure I could put google in there and they would list google as participating) - Not sure this is going to be all that big, or important :P

And if you ever decide to do it for real, just customize a copy of Debian, slap some weird "optimized for tablet/touchscreen" manager over it, add in a custom theme or two with your own icon set, and never never ever mention Linux on your website - or in any of your press releases.

Hey! It worked for Ubuntu. It can work for you too! :P

Haha, that might just work...shame I know absolutely ZERO about coding a linux system rofl

Neither did Mark Shuttleworth. Just assemble a team. Promise them little (or nothing) other than "glory" and the opportunity "to make a difference." There's enough of us naive fools who still believe in the GNU-F/OSS philosophy that you shouldn't have too much trouble gathering talent which you'll need do nothing other than ride herd on.
 ;D

---------------------------
Addendum: You will need to come up with a really cool name and logo for it. But you can always job that task out too if you have to. ;)

Wanna be part of a new OS movement 40hz?  I can't promise you much other than bragging rights, and perhaps fame and fortune if all goes well...

We also need someone to code the entire system, do the graphics, do the website, and also a couple of PR guys  ;D ;D ;D ;D

WARNING!!! You may pee your pants laughing...

Apple lawyer faces 'smoking crack' jibe by patent judge

Judge Koh became frustrated when Apple's lawyer suggested he could call 22 witnesses in four hours

The judge in a high profile US patent trial involving Apple and Samsung has said the iPhone maker's lawyer must be on drugs if he thought she would accept his list of potential witnesses.

William Lee had named 22 people he wanted to rebut testimony given by Samsung's choice of experts.

"Unless you're smoking crack you know these witnesses aren't going to be called" said Judge Lucy Koh.

Mr Lee replied: "Your honour, I'm not smoking crack. I can promise you that."

It only gets BETTER~! :D

Rofl, Judges finally getting sick of it all eh?  ;D

Assange is not, in fact, accused of political crimes. He is being sought for questioning in Sweden on rape and coercion allegations stemming from separate sexual relations he had with two women in that country in August 2010. One woman told police that Assange pinned her down to have sex with her and that she suspected he intentionally tore a condom he wore. The second woman reported that he had sex with her while she was initially asleep, failing to wear a condom despite repeated requests for him to do so. Assange has denied any wrongdoing, asserting that the sex in both cases was consensual.

Kind of an important point in this story...
You might want to read up on the rest of that story, though.

Then you might wonder a bit why the questioning has to be done in Sweden, especially considering there isn't a case against him yet (well, at least there wasn't back when this all started - they just wanted to "question him"). And then you might want to ponder a bit why Sweden in particular is involved in this (hint: the words "extradition" and "USA" comes to mind).

I don't dispute this, I just hate the fact that news outlets choose not to highlight this lol
