I love this beautiful and wonderfully coded online Medieval Tapestry Story Generator, discovered by Edvard on the forum.

It's not unlike other online sign makers -- you drag and drop images and add text.  But the style is incredibly well done and you can really make things that like ancient medieval tales from history.

Edvard that tapestry generator is FANTATSIC.  Going to blog about it now.

Another quick update, mainly bugfixes:

v2.56.01 - May 21st, 2009
  • Cursor was not being captured in object/region modes
  • New program icon (thanks Hamradio!)
  • Adding hotkey shortcuts to mouseover hints on SC toolbar buttons.
  • Redbox object capture could sometimes capture the red borders.
  • Sort by date of thumbnail panel was failing on users who have file extensions hidden.
  • Sorting in details mode now works and user can sort on any column.
  • Maybe fixed a problem with SC hanging after capture on rare occasions.

Yes, though i can't remember the last time i checked it.
Just make a group submenu, and you have some choices of how it is treated:

I'm afraid the age old saying is more true than ever.. The rich get richer, the poor get poorer -- that's how the world's economies are set up -- while not impossible, it's a very hard syndrome to break out of. >:(

General Software Discussion / Re: Create simple installation file.
« Last post by mouser on May 21, 2009, 03:22 PM »
Inno Setup is a great setup tool, and very flexible..

BUT.. it is not very easy for novices to use, even with the essential ISTool helper utility (which makes it a lot easier):
http://files.jrsoftw...ack/ispack-5.2.4.exe

If you try Inno/ISTool and find it frustrating, don't give up on your journey -- it just means you need to find an easier to use free tool.  Hopefully someone else will recommend one in subsequent post.

you can use updater to check for updates, and go to dcupdater options to tell it not to run the installer but just download it for you.

i love the stichings one.. i'm a sucker for anytime a modern joke can be retrofitted to something from the distant past.

in cases where the command-line output only contains linebreak separated file/folder paths it would be really cool if there was a version of appcapp that automatically displayed the results as a regular FARR results list..
yes definitely i was thinking the same thing.

nope, just security updates.

actually i'd like to think that i helped them understand how the recent exploits were taking place, see post here:

so we already had the fixes in place before today.

i know why it's happening -- i added some more advanced folder drive auto-fixing suitable for people with removable drives.
what i can do is add an option to disable this.

question:
in the search directory entries, do you actually have them listed as "N:\"
or is it more like "N:\Program Files\" , i.e. specifies a directory which also exists on C:.

the reason i ask is that i thought i coded it so that it never reassigned just a plain drive letter.

you can use the included core run alias to do anything you would do from an alias, but perhaps it would be useful to include one just for appcap.
so for example you can do currently:

run showmemo Pinging;;;appcapappendmemo c:\windows\system32\ping.exe www.donationcoder.com

but perhaps a new alias would be better like:

runcap (.*)
which did
showmemo Running $$1;;;appcapappendmemo $$1

Here is is for you to import, but i think ill add it to defaults since it seems pretty useful:
1000>>>runcap>->Run and Capture $$1|showmemo Running $$1;;;appcapappendmemo $$1>+>runcap (.*)

with that alias you could just type: runcap ping.exe donationcoder.com

which would have same effect of typing run ping.exe donationcoder.com *except* that with runcap the output is shown in farr window.

there sure is.
you create an alias that uses the dosearch function.  here's a thread with an example:

correct, except if you are using vista, in which case they default in the documents and settings application data directory.
(note for the sake of completion -- that you can override this behavior by editing the CondigDir.ini file)

Screenshot Captor / Re: access violation error in photoshop

can you make sure you are running screenshot captor 2.55.01 and try again? if it still happens email me at [email protected].
it's strange because i was able to reproduce it and then fixed it and it doesn't happen to me anymore.
19473
all of my programs use INI files that you can simply copy from the program directory (or replace)*; though there are a couple of cases where there is an additional settings file.  but regardless, they all use files to store settings, so import and export is not critical in my mind because it can be done manually.

*Clipboard Help+Spell uses a database file for efficiency.  While CHS includes a backup+restore function, i really do want to add an xml export function for easy of transfer.
19474
I'll have them fly me out first class to personally install it on each pc, since end users cannot be trusted to run the setup program themselves.
