DesktopCoral / Re: Usefullness
« Last post by mouser on May 28, 2009, 11:46 AM »
that's strange.
can you try this -- the next time that happens, undock and then re-dock Desktop Coral, and see if that fixes it.
if so, then at least it's a clue to me about what's going on, and i could at the minimum offer a quick workaround command in the Desktop Coral menu that would fixup the situation.

Nicely done..  ;D
I'll bet there are a few salesmen who start passing this around to colleagues.  Makes you realize how strange the world of high-end sales is, where everything is negotiable and you're always dealing with finessing the details to build long term repeat-sales relationships.

It's not a stupid question.. the prices are set high in the shop so that people don't buy those items.  We prefer to give them away as presents rather than sell them.

makes sense.. the log is really great and there are a lots of nice features and details.
i still think that unless you are undergoing thousands of spam emails all at once under some kind of attack, it might be safer to operate in "download-to-client" mode until you are comfortable with making sure you don't lose mail to false positives.  i guess i'm always paranoid about false positives getting lost forever.

so far it's working great here and i think i'll purchase this when my trial runs out.

well let's say i'm definitely going to purchase it now that i've gotten word from Vetaltm that we will have a 50% discount for DC members coming up in a couple days    yay!

so far so good -- however one setting i immediately changed is that by default its set to filter spam at the SERVER level while reading pop3 headers.  I'm not sure that should really be the default for a new user who is unsure about false positives..

i set all of my accounts to filter after downloading -- that way i can easily check the junk mail folder and make sure nothing has been marked as spam when it shouldnt be.

Welcome Vetaltm!

Great to have you drop by :)

I think just by looking at the screenshots you can see this is software made by people who love to program.. and that's always something we appreciate here.

I'll contact you about the discount stuff in private message.

to clarify what superboyac is saying you can change "attach" to "attachthumb" to use thumbnails -- no need to reupload any of the files, etc.

but i think the review is fine as it is -- i think screenshots help one to follow along.

only a few more days for this!  keep in mind these mugs are exclusive to the c-base gathering and are free for dc attendees.. they will probably be worth 1 million dollars each by the year 2025, so get 'em while you can.

Wonderful mini-review!

You've actually inspired me to try AnispamSniper again.. I tried it a year ago and was overwhelmed by the options (just as you point out when describing it's drawback).  I just felt lost and it didn't work as well as i hoped out of the box.  But i'm willing to try it again.

Another nice blog article on tips for people who work at home, to help create some structure and tips for the way you spend your time for maximum efficiency and satisfaction.

Working from home sounds like a very simple concept. But there are a lot of built-in structures and boundaries inherent in a going-to-the-office job that we often take for granted.  Recreating those boundaries when our home and work is one and the same is a crucial part of achieving a work-life balance... One common trap of working from home is allowing your personal life to bleed into your work. A lack of discipline and motivation as well as a myriad of temptations lurking in every corner of your home can affect your productivity big time.

thats a good question -- try the updater, see what it says.
if it says you have a newer version installed, right click and say to install anyway.
if it lists your version correctly as 1.60.02 2.60.02 then it will offer to download update and confirm my theory about the mislabeling.

i think what must have happened is i accidentally labeled 2.60.02 as 2.61.02.
so then the version after that was 2.61.01, leading to all the confusion.
ill release 2.63.01 this week and that will clear up the problem.

v2.61.01 is most recent version.

for doing the forwarding, are you looking for a server based solution (ie on a server you can install software on), or a local pc email client based solution?

This is sort of off-topic but too cool not to post.
Here is Judas Priest doing an amazing cover of Joan Baez's folk song Diamonds and Rust (about Bob Dylan) from 1978:

Any opinions of 'Stickies' from Zhorn software?  I've been using it for quite a while and find it quite useful and feature-rich.

I think Stickies is actually quite highly regarded by more than a few members of the forum.  See posts here:
