« Last post by Ath on November 07, 2012, 05:03 AM »
Maybe I have the window class wrong? This doesnt work either:
ADOBEREADER_PDF_FRAME
Be sure to check the exact Window ClassName using the Window spy/info tool that comes installed with AHK. And, these names are usually checked case-sensitive.

Coding Snacks / Re: Single click focus, double click bring to front
« Last post by Ath on November 04, 2012, 11:44 AM »
Hm, still the same limitations imposed by Windows apply: A window that has focus is the top-most Window, unless other windows having the 'Always on top' attribute are covering it.

So, AFAICS, the only way of achieving your goal will be playing with that on-top attribute of all other windows covering the intended window. Hm, still sounds dodgy.
And I still don't understand the use-case either

(I think Katmouse can have problems on win7)
I've been using KatMouse on Win7 x64 for as long as I run that (3 years and a bit now), and I use 1 or 2 apps that have specific mouse-handling that don't like KatMouse, so I excluded them, but it works like a charm for the rest of the system & applications.

Finished Programs / Re: DONE: Run At Specified Time
« Last post by Ath on November 02, 2012, 09:13 AM »
I've checked with Google, but either it's not to be found, or I used the wrong search criteria, but I haven't found anything usable. :o

So I mocked up this small Delphi commandline tool: SleepTill.exe
- Version: 0.9.0
Usage:
SleepTill [date] [time] [/?]
[date] : Optional date in yyyy-mm-dd format, default: today
[time] : Optional time in hh:mm[:ss] format, if not supplied: 00:00
/? or -? : Show this helpmessage
Remarks:
- Either date or time, or both, should be provided to start the wait
- Date/time should be in the future to start the wait
- Pressing Ctrl-C stops the wait

Download attached zipped-up exe file removed because of update, below.

General Software Discussion / Re: record webinar
« Last post by Ath on October 31, 2012, 02:42 AM »
Hm, thew few webinars I've been in had both an awkward login-procedure quite hard to automate, and didn;t have sound option, but for a (toll-free) dial-in number that I had to listen to from my mobile phone (like the rest of the company, having no wired telephone on my desk...)

Any web-capture software that allows/features to be scheduled, should be able to handle this task though, after you've skipped the initial rough-spots I mentioned above.

Windows XP 64 bit has been an ugly duckling since it's inception, and there have been very few (hardware)drivers available for it.
If you want a 64 bit Windows OS, go for Windows 7, or Windows 8 if you want/have to. Even Vista x64 was a small drama (I've used it for 2,5 years myself :o).
Only since the wide acceptance of Windows 7 x64, manufacturers have been supplying 64 bit drivers for it (yes, Vista x64 started it too, but to a lesser extend), but drivers are usually not back-ported to older OS versions. There's not enough market to gain.

You know about Serverdoc?  This is simpler than that, local not remote?
Correct, only for local applications, not remote processes, websites or other (web)services.

I've renamed it - Programmable Helpdesk Attendants Rescue Tool (PHART)

I do wish MS would fix that.
IIRC they did something in Win8 to fix that

But I have never checked it out.
Quite easy to try, IMHO, but I must say I use it several times a week, and it hasn't failed me since Windows 95...

I've never seen any other behavior than merging the 2 folders, if a folder with the same name already exists. It's more likely that the folder-attributes are taken from the added folder and set to the existing folder, but usually they're the same, so you won't notice a difference. After allowing the folder-'replace' copy, all files from both folders will be there, and you can confirm to overwrite any matching files, as usual.
This has been the default behavior since Windows 95 AFAIK. And probably before that too, but that's too long ago to remember ;D
