In WinXP, sometimes the Windows Explorer causes the system to freeze as it tries to read the info from the media files, especially if the files are too large or corrupted. It's probable that Win7 could be doing the same.

there is a tool called Windows XP AVI Fix which turned off this "feature" for WinXP users.

But the real problem is that this only sets the shortcut's parameters, and it doesn't affect how the program being run by Caps-Run actually loads.  Caps-Run would have to signal internally for the application to start minimized or maximized.

you're right, i had missed the internal signals for Capsrun to launch the way you wanted. sorry, it's been some time since i coded that script and i had uploaded a total mess it seems. :-[ anyway, try the updated version and let me know if you run into any more problems. The startup folder also should be working now.

as for the quote marks, i referred to the help file and followed their suggestion of adding an external quotes around the command and it works.

When running a program via Comspec (cmd.exe) -- perhaps because you need to redirect the program's input or output -- if the path or name of the executable contains spaces, the entire string should be enclosed in an outer pair of quotes. In the following example, the outer quotes are shown in red and all the inner quotes are shown in black:
Run %comspec% /c ""C:\My Utility.exe" "param 1" "second param" >"C:\My File.txt""

for some reasons, Stuttgart is not listed on the "Cities" drop-down list. i tried the "TZ ReDownload" option several times but there is no change. i also tried adding the code (317) manually in the "timezone.ini" file but it shows only the local time. any clues to why this happens?

items 1 & 2 are included in this release but i'm not sure about the quote marks parsing. can you explain a bit and are those commands from nircmd?

Edit: Fixed max/min commands and start-in folder

as mouser mentioned, there exists several tools that come close. you may try iPrint or FinePrint but both are commercial apps. on the freeware side, the only ones i know are for handling text files such as PrintFile or TxtPrint.

Big thumbs up for BBCEditor.

maybe it's because the thread was from 2006 and BBCEditor hasn't been written yet.. :)

maybe the word 'snooper' did it in.. do you still want the program? can be renamed and posted at alternative site.

you can check out these bookmarklets by Jesse. there is an 'increment' & 'decrement' bookmarklets that may interest you.

Increment:
Increases the last number in the URL by 1.

For example, takes you from http://foo.org/1/9.jpg to http://foo.org/1/10.jpg. Useful for navigating between numbered images or numbered pages.

Decrement:
Decreases the last number in the URL by 1.

For example, takes you from http://foo.org/1/10.jpg to http://foo.org/1/09.jpg.

thanks for the info. it's a good thing that they allow turning off the heuristic scans, at least the users have a choice.

does Avast or Avira has the option to turn off heuristic scanning? i want to recommend either one of them to a colleague, for whom i wrote some customized AHK scripts. i hate it when the AVs trip up on the AHK scripts.

it has some of the features from Farr, even adaptive search. let's see how development picks up.

I think I've spent more time on Defense Grid: The Awakening, but Plants vs. Zombies is probably 2nd with regard to time spent playing a TD game.

lol, just when i thought it was safe to go back to my normal routines. must resist the temptation to look up "defense grid". :P
