Mircryption / Re: How to change users prefix from mcps to +OK or ecb?
« Last post by mouser on July 12, 2009, 11:41 PM »
fish doesn't understand mcps.
if you want to talk in a channel with people using fish, and you are using mircryption,
right click in the channel and tell mircryption to use the +OK prefix.

Minor release fixes icon problem in previous version:

Version 2.71.01 - July 12th, 2009
  • [BugFix] Icons for shortcut links with custom icon settings were not being shown properly due to change in v2.70.01; hopefully now this is fixed and the previous x64 shortcut/icon fixup stuff is still working.

d4ni and lashiec, can you see if this beta version fixes your icon problem:

btw the name of this tool is a bit confusing.. maybe something like "Mutliple App Hotkey" or "Single Hotkey Trigger" or something like that would be a bit clearer?
18882
Yes mouser that is right and thanks to your donation I can now hire a pr person to clarify the description haha.

more like you can now afford to buy yourself a can of soda to quench your thirst as you modify the post :)

You are reporting same problem as Lashiec it seems, i should have it fixed tomorrow.
The n+1 results i think is due to duplicates being removed.

Great edition -- lot's of interesting stuff.
The Live Poll video is one of the funniest things i've seen all year. Love it.

A very cool idea, so let me summarize and see if i've got it right:

  • Instead of the user having to remember different hotkeys for different programs, to open up a common function like searchng, this program let's a user have a single hotkey.
  • And when they hit this hotkey, JustEnter simulates the user pressing an application-specific hotkey, depending on the application that the user is using at the time.
  • Furthermore, the program can be told to cycle through simulating different hotkeys within a program, so that again they can just hit the one hotkey to access different functions and never have to remember which one to press.

Is that right?

FARR Plugins and Aliases / Re: plugin/JS communication????
« Last post by mouser on July 12, 2009, 01:36 AM »
i think the answer is yes to the first, and for the second, there isnt really a limit i dont think, though dc member ecaradec may know better.

believe it or not.. and this is scary.. but dc members czb and ewemoa know much better than me how to do these fancy fscript farr plugin things,  i'll send them a message to make sure they see this post and reply.

sounds like you are making something fun! care to share some info about what you are planning to do?

old logins are NOT carried forward (for security reasons -- no need to have twice the risk of email leakage).
but also, the forum should be in maintenance mode and not let anyone login or register.
it won't be usable until the main forum goes down.

Ok gothic and I have set up a temporary bare bones backup forum on our member server, which will be enabled whenever the donationcoder.com main website or forum ever goes offline.

Please make note of this URL:

The idea behind this is to have a place where people can go to learn more and discuss problems if the main website/forum ever goes offline unexpectedly, or gets hacked, whatever.  It will provide both a place to chat while waiting for the main site to come back online, as well as a place to get updates about any problems affecting the main server.

This backup forum will only be enabled when the main website goes down, and when that happens you won't be able to find this message (except maybe through google cache) so please make a note of the URL now, and put it someplace safe.

All I can tell you is of my own personal experiences. I am a software junkie. If I have a software need (yes, need, dang it!) I will relentlessly search till I have found every program that will fulfill that need & I will end up installing a bunch of those till I finally have the one I consider to be best.

welcome to the club.. probably a lot of us on DC like that.

HOWEVER.. i have come to believe that one should avoid whenever possible installing any program on your pc that you don't intend to keep installed for a long time.

INSTEAD.. test these programs in a virtual machine -- there are very good ones now: VmWare, VirtualPC, VirtualBox, etc.  These programs make it completely painless to evaluate programs without any risk or leftovers on your real pc.

Especially when trialing lots of alternative programs, since most of the programs you don't have to use for more than a few minutes to know it's not for you.

As with most of my help files, i've added links to other similar programs.

If anyone knows any others let me know and I'll add them.  As always, support the coders if you like their work.

lashiec, can you clarify -- did it work in older versions of FARR, but just not this new one? are you on an x64 OS? Which OS?
and can you clarify what icons are showing incorrectly? any clues about which ones?
