my favorites are the one with baby cody and the "worm", and the pigeon one -- seems that baby cody is having fun learning about this strange world of ours.

We missed this years!  :(

A giant belated thank you to John Sennesael (Gothic) for all he does to keep the DC server running smoothly.

If anyone ever needs a high quality system administrator, there is nothing he can't do.

definitely a bug; i will fix.

may i suggest however, that you definitely not waste time using that menu!
when the red box surrounds what you want to capture -- just hit the right hand Ctrl key (or hold left Ctrl key and press left mouse click).
much quicker.

rssapphire is right.  it's highly suspect that there is any value in trying to force applications out of main memory.

The Getting Organized Experiment of 2009 / Chore Cards.. Almost makes it fun..
« Last post by mouser on August 01, 2009, 08:54 AM »
If you've followed my previous posts in this section you know how I swear by an index card system of getting things done.

I use hundreds of index cards organized into dozens of sections, with a single ToDo item on each card; I find it a very satisfying way to keep track of things.

Recently I started using the card system with my weekly chores around the house.

I have a card for each potential chore, and then at the beginning of the weekend i select the cards for the chores i think need to get done that weekend, and put them up on the refrigerator.  When a chores is completed, the respective card is put back into the deck.

While it's kind of silly for me to have such a system just for myself, I can see how this would be fun to use if you have kids -- letting them randomly choose cards and handing them in when their chore is done.

Anyone else have an interesting system to keep your family organized when it comes to household chores (pictures please!)

fascinating stuff.

I wand to encourage fellow DC people to make and post screencasts of their DC-shared software during August 2009 along with me.

I used the commercial tool Camtasia, but there are some good free tools as well, including BB Flashback Expresss, Wink, and Camstudio.

You can host the video on youtube or any video sharing site, or even on the dcmember server, just ask.

DAY 1:

Ok here's the first screencast of the series.  I'm going to make these really short, aiming for two or three minutes each.

The first one is a quick overview of Screenshot Captor:

let me see if i understand what you are saying:
  • process tamer does announce when it tames certain applications (firefox, etc.).
  • process tamer does not announce when it lowers priority of a2service.
  • but process tamer IS actually lowering the priority of a2service.
  • you have an explicit rule to reduce priority of a2service.
  • you are wondering why PT is not announcing that it is taming a2service.

is that right? i actually can't remember if this is true, but it wouldn't surprise me if PT isn't designed specifically so that it does not announce when it changes priorities if there is an explicit rule to do so for that specific application -- only announcing when a process is tamed accourding to it's other settings.

hmm.. this should not be happening, but it sounds like this is definitely a bug.
not sure why i haven't see it in my windows 7 tests.

i shall see if i can reproduce it and fix it this weekend --

can you tell me a little more about your setup -- is this a non-administrator account? (it should work fine with non-admin account) but maybe it's not.
did you customize the configdir.ini file?

seems to me every effort should be made to get baby cody to any IRLDD gatherings.

app, i had same initial reaction.
but i think what phil is wondering is which one of the following is true:
1) author is really from the company, and has just added the #104 at end of links to help them keep track of where people are coming from.
2) or the author is merely a sales affiliate of the company, adding their affiliate id # to the links, and isn't really a member of the company
since the company has a very prominent add on their page "Become a sales affiliate" it seems the question is reasonable.

what i'm going to do is edit the links and remove the # part, seems best way to discourage affiliate stuff.

someone make an .sctool for it then others can just download it and put it in their tools directory without having to add it manually.

Some good questions.. can I ask that you try the latest version and see if the keep image stuff still has this problem -- i tried to improve it recently.

You have a good point about ctrl-q prompting, while delete all doesnt.. actually ctrl+Q prompts but lets you turn off prompt -- i should do the same for delete all.

Regarding the delete image on MoveTo menu -- i should remove that, it does the same thing (unless i am mistaken) and so serves no purpose being there.

glad you like it!
actually i think this may have come up before and we figured out i needed to add something to make this possible.. easy enough to do if so.
did you find a skin you like that works in all other respects?
18724
i'd like to point out what i like about the models 4wd posted -- which is that the opening is full 5.25 opening which holds exposed racks.  i prefer this to a case with a door and internal mountings that wouldn't allow you to use a rack of your choosing.  if you know you're never going to want to swap drives in and out then it doesnt matter of course.
18725
my limited experience with motherboard recognizing large numbers of drives (6 qualifies as large for a desktop) is that it can be tricky to diagnose.

i would suggest your first task would be to try various configurations and narrow down a little more what's not working.

in other words, if you disconnect the first external hd in the enclosure, is the second one recognized?
