As far as laws and format goes you won't have any problem selling to a Canadian. I am not a gamer otherwise I would probably be interested.

There were articles a few weeks ago that they were rejected because they were very 'controversial', racist, etc. Surely they were not referring to these?

btw, i'd like to thank rgdot for his initial invite, polarcode sent one too but somehow it didn't work but thanks anyway to both of you.. 8)

You're welcome :) And thank you Shades for sending me.

@iphigenie, I am sure you will receive them and before long you can't give them away. Already seeing less response (for example when I tweet that I have invites)

Me as well, 16 invites.

And I noticed some performance improvement too. Ever since I signed up I had tried to read the Lifehacker public wave (a pretty large one) and every time I had gotten the "...do not fret" error. Not today though.

Privacy policies are regularly amended, I have seen that many times. I don't want to sound like I am defending them because I am not and wouldn't want to but to have privacy policy apply to 'new users from now on' is little use to corporations legally speaking.

Good idea :)

I will give it a try on another machine as well. FYI this machine has the latest .NET, if you meant re-installing .NET I will do that later as well.

Saw your XP issue post while typing.

Same as 40hz when I tried it, the accompanying error report content is big, I am currently trying to capture the content as it does not create a temp file (that I can see in such places like local settings, etc.)

If you drop a thumbnail image on a folder, the image is moved to the new folder
and 4.

are really good ideas as long as the user is explicitly told every time how and what is happening

9. Is a time saver

Will be trying it now, thanx

I was going to mention Dropbox but not necessarily because of any specific tools in this thread but to keep the data file or folder of your fave offline app in the Dropbox folders and have them be in sync.

Next thing you know using certain 'cpu intensive' programs will void the warranty...

Not only that but if you notice the computer smoking, then you're really in for it!!

Sony had personal music players, sure...and they could have owned the market, but they piddled away their head start by not embracing the MP3 format right away. For the longest time, their personal music players only dealt in their weird proprietary format. By the time they wised up, it was too late.

Really ironic, seeing what iTunes does to files.
I have never bought any Apple either and my only experience with iTunes specifically is my sibling's mac. And mac in general with a few more friends and family.

Thank you tomos. Text Block Writer is one of the ones I like and been trying along with the other recommendations like Compendium, OneNote, Notezilla

@superboyac I guess the main broad difference is that OneNote supports many kinds of notes besides just text input.

« Last post by rgdot on November 20, 2009, 01:06 PM »
Laugh if you want to, but if I am going to use a cloud OS I want much improved SLA from my ISP.
May be google should be looking at 'partnerships' with ISPs too instead of hardware companies.

"You'll have to buy a Chrome OS device"

Big gamble and one that is difficult to win, on the 'fashionable' side Apple is not going anywhere anytime soon, on the 'choice and options' side Windows compatible stuff aren't going anywhere.

Start watching ustream streams using Firefox  :P on 2 different XPs it tops 3D CAD software if I watch a stream for more than half hour or so and it keeps rising
A codec memory loss ?

I have seen posts and comments, both anecdotal and somewhat more precise, regarding flash and Firefox

Similar to what's already mentioned, lifetime licenses are really a leap of faith, never mind financially but in other ways too. If you are buying the product now presumably you like a product as it is now, by paying a lifetime fee there is an assumption not only that only the product will be around but it will a)continue development at a reasonable pace b)it will add features that you may not know about now but perhaps be interested when you see it.
